Last Saturday was fun (again). Because our professor conducted an activity wherein all the students must play at least four (4) to five (5) board games.
I played Pictionary first and then the Wheel of Fortune, followed by Checkers or commonly known as Dama and Chess. Pictionary and Wheel of Fortune can be played by group and it was for entertainment while the Checkers and Chess were played only by two (2) individuals and it can enhance your strategical skills.
Pictionary is a kind of guessing game. The game were fun to play especially with your friends.
Formal Elements of Game (Pictionary)
Players: The more the merrier but the game can be played only of maximum of four (4) groups with four (4) players. I think the players should have a creativity here.
Objective: The objective was to team must finish or reach the finish box on the board.
Procedure: Each team must draw a certain image by one of their member based on the given word. Each team were given only one minute to guess the word. One member per team were include to see the word and draw after forĀ āAll-playā squares. Continue playing until thereās a team reaches the Finish line.
Rules: Only one player of the team can play if the other team members were lose onĀ Rock-paper-scissors. But one member per team were include to see the word and draw after for āAll-playā squares. In terms in drawing, it is prohibited to include letters and numbers. Also the illustrator of the team must not give a hint to their respective members. They must remain and silent.
Conflict: There will be a conflict when two teams got the correct answer with the same time.
Boundaries: The game is played physically and the conceptualization of the word were needed.Ā
Outcome: The possible outcome that the player would get is the conceptualization of different things/objects and on how they can simplify complicated things.
Draughts or commonly known as Checkers is a strategy board games for two players. I liked to play this game when I was on High School.
Formal Elements of Game (Checkers)
Players: 2 players only. The players somehow have the idea on how to play this.
Objective: The objective was to deplete your opponents checker pieces.
Procedure: Place all the checker pieces on its designate positions. The whites would take the first turn. Depleting your opponents piece would be done through diagonal move. Try to defeat with your own strategy.
Rules: Each player must move one at a time.Ā Thereās an option if they will play rules of if the player must eat or get the pieces mandatory or optional.
Conflict: When there are missing checker pieces the game canāt be played.
Boundaries: The game is played physically and the strategy of the players were needed.
Outcome: The players can enhance their critical, analytical and strategical thinking.
Chess is a strategical board games also similar to Checkers. I usually play this when my father or uncle invites me to play.
Formal Elements of Game (Chess)
Players: 2 players only. The players somehow have the idea on how to play this. Similar to Checkers.
Objective: The objective was to deplete your opponents chess pieces.

Rules: Each player must move one at a time. The Horse piece can only moved inĀ āLā direction. The Queen piece canāt be moved similar to Horse. Castling canāt be done if the Rooks were Ā moved already.The King is mandatory to move away if the player isĀ āCHECKEDā. Both of them must say the wordĀ āCHECKā to warn their enemy.
