I close my eyes for a way out
Dreaming of your creased skin
Sunlight streaming from the window
where I sit, a cigarette lit
gazing upon your peace-coloured face
with mountains behind me,
which seemingly rearranged themselves
to make the scene perfect.
The wooden floor glows gold
The day calls for us once more
We clink our glasses to the night
Finding inexhaustible solace
in each other’s giggles and soft murmurs
as you caress me without the worry
of morning separating us.
I want to ride the wind with you again
Make smoke-stops at faraway places
Dance with your arm around me
Throughout the dizzy music of our nights
And wake up to your croaky voice
affectionately pulling me back in bed.
I long to stumble across hazy dimlit streets
Repeat it every day of my life
Forever revelling in the ecstatic joy of being yours
As we move across cities and unknown lands
