Fallen Angels, 1995
Baby teeth falling from your mouth, detaching from the gums like sticky candy, refusing to let go. Sheets of paper pulp blotched red by seeping blood from your mouth, your tooth aches.
Growing centimeters with every passing month, suddenly a new piece is forming, replacing an old, forgotten, cold space with a pearly full one.
When a new event happens in your life, an echo to when an old tooth rots, a new one blooms in soon. Smooth and shiny, white and heavy, my mouth is full of new teeth.
I cannot forgive, but I can forget.
The way you made my tooth ache, a sinful sweet beneath my breath.
