12.Okt.2016: about 13 centimeters to go
Tossed:m: sleeveless jersey dress in a dark chocolate brown with a V neck and additional second layer and elastic band at the waist. I bought this in summer 2011 and did buy it a bit too small, I remember the shop assistant suggesting buying it in a larger size. I didn’t and therefor never got to wear it. When I posted this I wasn't sure I ever would... As I just prefer dresses with a little more sass and / or sleeves. Now I know I'll never wear it. It's time has run out. Bye.
Tossed: knee length denim skirt with short slits at both sides. The bleached look and colorful (in this case lime green) lines on the back pockets were a lot more in fashion than they are now… I bought this skirt in early 2005, after already having lost a bunch of weight. Then one night when I was partying with friends and their acquaintances it happened… I was very proud of fitting into the skirt and wore it with a shirt and boots; Some boy (a stranger to all of us) who had been chatting to some of the other girls addressed me and dared to ask whether I was pregnant. Though I was totally shocked I managed to answer: “No, I always look like this!” And had laughter on my side. Now I guess this anecdote doesn't really speak for the skirt so now it's got to go.
Saved: simple white cotton tank top with applications on one side only. There will be no throwing this thing out.
<p>Saved: dark purple long sleeved bolero with sequins at the shoulders, bought in a very big kids’ size some time in 2014. As it was designed for kids it doesn’t fit right - or maybe it’s because I have cleavage?! The buttons still seem to be in wrong places so when I wore it today I just didn’t button it.<br> For now there will be no throwing this thing out.
Saved: knee length white skirt with a pink “Bambi” application and two hearts. Width is adjustable with a bow. I bought this unique piece on eBay around 2007. The previous owner added the Bambi and hearts herself and I like the cuteness of them. I wore it today - a hot summer day... Just right with a matching white and pink top. There will be no throwing this thing out.
Saved: teal Babydoll dress with no sleeves but very pretty embroidery. The cotton fabric has some sort of polka dot pattern woven into it. I bought this for very little money in early summer 2009. However, this cute mini dress has remained unworn after I’d put it on once or twice that year... Until I wore it today for a summer day of going for a swim and shopping with my friend N.. There will be no throwing this thing out.
Saved: white short sleeved blouse with a ruffle down the front, rounded edges on the collar and pin stripes. I got it in summer 2009 because I was working an office job where they had a dress code. It’s made from very stretchy material. I’m not really feeling that ruffle down the front. So it took me a while till I finally put it on again. Not sure that'll happen again, soon... For now, there will be no throwing this thing out!
Saved: light brown cotton tank top with ruffles in the front. I bought it ver cheap in early summer 2009. I wore it to work today with dark green skinny jeans, a black cardigan an black peep toes with a bow. I think the color suits me. There will be no throwing this thing out!
Saved by tossing an item previously saved: red shirt with fancy upper front that looks like crochet/lace. I bought this online in 2010 and it was on sale of course… Tossed: back shirt with ¾ sleeves, a deep V-neck and a bow in the back, bought in September / October 2008. This one is pretty faded from washing it over and over. I'll let it go for the "as good as new" shirt.
Saved by tossing an item previously saved: dark red denim mini skirt, bought in my favorite shop (back then) in autumn 2009, still unworn. Tossed: short sleeved tunic in a dark purple with decorative crocheted details in the front and a bow to be tied in the back to regulate width. Frankly, I'd rather keep the mini skirt than the "pregnant lady top"...
Saved by tossing an item previously saved: knee length swinging summer skirt in white, brown and pink. Now why would I want to keep this cotton skirt bought 2005 though I had to repair a little rip in the fabric before I could wear it in the first place? I like the color scheme and the overall look... And my boo likes it... ;) Tossed: V neck tee striped in different shades of teal, with subtle embroidery around the neck, bought 2008. Though I like this shirt in the old picture from 2008 but sometimes that's got to be enough... Time to say goodbye.
Reward for doing good for 1 week in 2016: nail polish in a shade somewhere between red and hot pink. It also has glitter but that really doesn't show once it's applied... Love the color anyway.
Saved by tossing an item previously saved: knee length dress in off-white with a transparent second layer printed with colorful flowers and leaves. The dress has the tiniest cap sleeves, a cowl neck and a second, all black layer at the neck and a bow at the waist. I found it in March 2015 and had to have it even though I had to pay the full price. Tossed: dark green tee with embroidery at the (low) neckline. I bought this in late summer / early fall 2009 but only got to wear it once or twice until today, including the time I saved it. It’s not special to me, I’ll let it go.
Reward for doing good for 1 week in 2016: earrings with dark green round crystals.
Saved: knee length print dress in white, purple and green with short sleeves and a bow that can be tied either in the front or back… I wore it for a relaxed Sunday. Usually I don't wear dresses with jeans but in this case I felt it didn't hurt but made the outfit more appropriate for the weather... There will be no throwing this thing out.
Saved: orange v-neck pullover with button detail at the front, bought in summer 2009. It was more of a lose fit then but I can still work on that, as I get to keep the pullover. I wore it for a relaxed Saturday today... There will be no throwing this thing out!
