This picture represents the setting where my short film “Rumor” takes place.

Rumor is about a girl who is entitled to a spot on the most popular sorority on campus. She can’t seem to humble herself because being apart of the sorority is something she feels she has to do. Her roommate, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have it that easy. She has to earn her spot by part-taking in the hazing process. Life’s not fair for either girl when lies and rumors backfire on both of them.

Transforming this adaptation of “Rumor” from a short story to a film was not as difficult as I thought. Once I wrote out my beat sheet I was able to develop a story that sent out the same message but in a different way.  I wanted to show the upside of being apart of a greek organization as well as the downside of it as well. I also wanted to emphasis on how your attitude can change the course of your life no matter who you are.

I really enjoyed this assignment and I hope to one day adapt my novel “Homeroom” into a screenplay. It will give a visual of how the characters in the novel look and act like middle school students. Even though the book is relatable to the obstacles middle school students face every day in urban areas, by seeing it visually will shed more light and make it more realistic.

I have learned so much in multimedia adaptation and I can’t wait to apply these necessary skills towards my creative writing career.

The photo on the left is showing how fast and easy is convenient and is demanded in today's society. Anything that is quick and easy is the go-to because of the rooted issue; The government is impatient in figuring out the proper problem and solution to the crises in the united states so they are prone to a quick resolution which doesn’t prevent the crisis but only fixes it for the moment. 

The photo on the right is stating how patience is a virtue. When you put time on a pedestal, knowing that in your due time things will happen in your favor. When you increase momentum and stay in faith you can achieve and receive everything you deserve.

I really enjoyed writing this script despite the many obstacles I had to overcome to create the Three Act Web series. I enjoyed plotting out the ideas based on my experience in the classroom. I found great humor in recreating my students as characters as well as myself, by revealing a very trying obstacle I had to overcome. 

This assignment has allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone, and use my creative imagination which helped to turn my reality into a cartoon. I want to show the world a different view of effective classroom management, but first, I needed to show the reason why it is needed no matter what type of students you may have. I want to show that without effective classroom management, and the proper support of the administrative team, A teacher will walk out of a classroom never to return. I want to continue on with this web series in hopes that it will enlighten the situation.

As an employee of Norfolk Public School, I want to help education, not just my students but educate the world through movies, web series, and plays that will show a positive outcome of a negative situation. This will not only help students see themselves as a reflection of their negative behavior, but I will paint a picture as to how it creates a negative learning environment.

I really enjoyed this class and regardless of my final grade ( which I pray is a B or A), I have gained so much knowledge and understanding of my craft. It has broadened my horizons to becoming diverse in the creative writing field. I have high hopes that my career will take off, and everything that I am doing is all going to come together like pieces of the puzzle revealing my true identity.

I want to thank my instructor and fellow classmates for all of the positive feedback that not only helped me to create my webisode but pushed me into believing I could do something I never picture myself doing.  This has been an exciting journey thus far and I cannot wait to continue pressing foward with perseverance and a faith in my craft that is growing every day.
