Finished the top of the 20 year old scrap quilt! Miiiiight put on another brown border... definitely gonna bind it with that same brown. The last bit of brown will really tie it together, but I don't know if a thick border of brown will bog it down too much.

Gonna quilt it in the same style as the original, presser foot width away from each seam, both sides. It'll take too long, and I'll be annoyed with it, but I think it'll turn out great

July 18th, 2023, i saw a very pretty cat, and today she visited again!!!!!!

She was tiny the last time I saw her

Last time, i did kidnap her for a little while, as I browsed lost cat ads near me, alas she is not a stray, she is an outdoor cat.

Got to pet her a bit ❤️ she seems to get overstimulated easy, and gave me a very gentle bite to tell me she was done. She likes to pet herself on my hand, rather than have me do the work

Found a truly pathetic creature at the beach. Was just taking pics of a sea rocket, and there she was.

I scooped her up into a yogurt container, and gave her a blackberry. I watched her for nearly half an hour, then took her home.

I set up a tank. She had mealworms, mint leaves, berries, water, and sunflower seeds. Two hides, both full of quilt batting and paper towels. A heater, kept at a gentle warmth.

She ate, she slept, and she pooped.

And then yesterday afternoon, she passed.

Tail poking out of the mushroom house, snuggled up in her bedding, belly full of one entire raspberry.

20 years ago, my mom made a quilt. The scraps from that quilt were put in storage and eventually found their way to me. I threw em together, and am going to try and find some other bits and pieces to add to the edges to make it a bit bigger. Thematically, it'd make a great baby quilt for my own child, but that's not ever happening.

The original quilt is very faded and yellowed, from being on various couches for 20 years straight. Its a damn good nap blanket
