I set out for Ptown last Friday not thinking I would be competing but in the hours before the deadline something changed in me. I made a lot of excuses as I considered it over the weeks before and I realized the excuses were just that, excuses. I decided it was time to stop fretting over my body and self image and stop saying “maybe next year.” I was true to myself throughout. I tried to be honest in my speech, in my interviews, in my gear choices. I’m proud to have been honored with this title and I hope I can do it justice. The next year is going to be crazy.
