Day 8 - Rain: Callum and Rayla getting soaked from the rain, Then they’re inside a cave near a Campfire, and they’re hugging each other trying to say warm. (Do whatever you like with this one)

Day 9 - Illness: Callum or Rayla or maybe even both getting the Cold. (Can be about the last Prompt)

Day 10 - Scarf: Callum gives Rayla his Scarf. (Can be about the 2 last prompts)

Day 11 - Dreams: Can be a Nightmare or a Good Dream. (Do whatever you want with this one)

Day 12 - Hugs/Holding Hands: Callum and Rayla Holding Hands or Hugging (Cuddling) while their sleeping. (If you want, you can have Rayla wearing Callum’s Scarf, but the choice is yours)

Day 13 - Teasing: Callum or Rayla teasing one another. (Can be after the last Prompt)

Day 14 - SIghtseeing: Callum and Rayla sitting next to each other on a cliff looking at the landscape, maybe holding hands. (Do whatever you like on this one)

Welcome to Rayllum Month 2021 — otherwise known as the Rayllum Hiatus Hoedown! Just like two previous Rayllum months, this one will be taking place from July 1st to July 31st, and like last year’s, will have 16 prompts overall. This means the prompts are every other day, giving you a breather to create and consume all the Rayllum-y goodness the month has to offer! Just like last year, all forms of content — fanart, fic, text posts (headcanons, analysis, etc.), playlists, gifsets, graphics, anything — is welcome, as is NSFW content so long as it is appropriately tagged + with adequate read mores.

Above is the calendar to demonstrate the two-day prompt format, and down below is the list of prompts in an easier to read list!

The tag for the event will be #Rayllummonth or #HiatusHoedown (I will be checking both) and will run for the month of July. Late or early prompt submissions are more than welcome, even weeks (or months) late. The prompts are guidelines and suggestions, so don’t feel pressure to do all of them (and feel free to use them as a jumping off point). This is supposed to be a low-pressure, high-enjoyment event to help us get through the hiatus and celebrate our two favourite lovebirds.

What happened to rayllum week 2020?

Well, we were planning on starting it on November 22, 2020 in honour of the anniversary of when rayllum became canon, but then no one had the time to post anything asking for prompt suggestions or letting people know when it was being held. And then 2020 ended.

I don’t want that to happen again. While I can’t speak for the other mods, I, personally, don’t have enough time anymore to give this week the attention it deserves.

So if anyone wants to plan rayllum weeks or help run this blog please reach out! There’s no requirements for joining, you just need to have the motivation to post on Tumblr (and love rayllum)

RBB 16: Rayla’s Birthday

It was dark outside.

The cake was gone.

No one had spoken for a while.

Rayla’s birthday was probably over, all things considered.

She was leaning heavily against his chest. He had been half-way propping her up for a while now. It was not ideal to have to spend your birthday recently stabbed, tired and achy, but the world never seemed to be as good to her as he thought it ought to be.

Her breaths were slow against his shoulder.

Even Ezran, always reluctant to end a party, got up, pointing at Rayla and signed the sign for sleep at him.

“’Night Ez,” she muttered.

Rayllum Birthday Bash - Summertime Celebrations - Complete!

Hello everyone!

Thank you for following my first foray into the world of writing fanfiction! I had a ton of fun both reading everyone else’s prompts and writing my own. I made an attempt to write about both things I wanted to read and things I didn’t think would get much attention from the rest of the community, so my prompts were a little weird, sometimes! It was rough to lose half my pre-written prompts and have to rewrite them, but I won’t make that mistake ever again!

I’m especially grateful so many people liked the AU chapter, Cyberpunk: Xadia! I went all-out on that one, and received some very kind comments and notes! It ended up being a third of my whole bash’s words by itself! Oops?

Thank you all for your support! The kudos, comments, reblogs and messages were all very humbling to receive! I’ll be reading your fics, and hopefully be posting again sometime!

Rayllum Birthday Bash: Rayla’s Birthday

If I had a better sense of time and work ethic, this would be the final prompt. Instead, it’s more a midway prompt. It’s a day late, but what else is new. So, enjoy.

Someone was following her. Rayla knew that. Any assassin worth their salt would know that. Anyone who cared to listen would notice.

Twice the person following her had rustled a branch and tripped over something. Their breathing was deep enough to hear and she could swear she’d seen a shadow from behind a tree when she’d turned around to check.

Whoever they were, they weren’t a trained killer.

But who could it be? She wondered.

They hadn’t heard from Claudia in a while, but she was more a creature of guile than outright stealth.

So who could it be?

With any luck, they didn’t know that she was onto them.

A quick check of her surroundings and she shimmied up a nearby tree and onto an overlooking branch to wait for her pursuer to pass underneath her. If they had seen her climb the tree, then someone as rash as an untrained assassin would rush in thinking she was trapped.

She steadied her breathing, tense, ready to drop at any moment onto her unsuspecting pursuer.

Any second, they would pass beneath her and she would drop off the branch like a banther and pin them.

Any second, now…

Okay, where were they?

“Rayla?”          

At the sound of her name, Rayla started, nearly losing her grip on the branch.

“Callum?”

Her boyfriend was on the path underneath her, looking up at her confused. Annoyance flared in her chest.

“You were following me? Why were you following me? You don’t need to foll—Callum I’m in a tree!”

“Look, I’m sorry if I startled you, I was just trying to find the right time to give you this.”

From his satchel, Callum pulled a small, round package, about the size of a book wrapped in blue paper. Rayla dropped from the branch and took the package from Callum.

“And you got me this because?”

Callum’s left eyebrow rose.

“It’s your birthday,” he said, “I wanted to surprise you.”

“My birthday?” Rayla asked.

Callum nodded.

“Yeah, your birthday is July 31st, right?”

Today was her birthday? How’d she forget that one?

Rayllum Birthday Bash Prompt 15

Prompt: Time Skip

This is a little headcanon for how I think the characters will change during the time skip going into season 4 :3

I think it’s probably gonna be at most a few months, maybe half a year?

Anyways, I’m pretty sure there will be outfit changes. Callum would definitely stay with his scarf. He might just stay in his red undershirt. I think he would definitely learn more spells from Ibis while they’re still at the Storm Spire, possibly get more markings for more spells.

Rayla would probably get a new hairstyle, her hair could also grow a bit. Maybe a ponytail, braid, or a new little braid in her hair like the one from season 1. She might also get a matching scarf like Callum’s, but a different color. Also maybe more markings, drawn by her beloved Callum.

I’m expecting a lot of Rayllum fluff in season 4 (please :>). Callum and Rayla grow a lot closer. They overcome their traumas together and barely go anywhere with each other and are always sappy and “gross” according to Ezran and Soren. They have no more shame admitting that they’re a “thing” to others, no matter what others think. They don’t need anyone’s approval as soon as they have each other <3

Rayllum Birthday Bash: Date Night

Since time is of the essence, I’m officially going out of order with the prompts. I will, however, endeavor to honor the date of the final prompt, July 31st with it’s appropriate theme. Now that that’s out of the way, enjoy!

Monday, July 27th, the day they’d decided on last month rolled around with no ceremony. He’d picked out his best dress shirt.

He’d found a nice café with a scenic root on the edge of town that served some pretty good elven cuisine and had a shop nearby they could peruse if they wanted.

He’d given Ezran and Soren the heads up and told them to spread the word. No lessons, no ambassadorial work, no interruptions on the night of July 27th. Just him, Rayla, and a night on the town.

A night when he and Rayla could just unwind and enjoy each other’s company.

Wonder if she’d like to go out dancing, he thought as he tried to tame his unruly hair. After a minute, he gave up and just hoped that his hair wouldn’t get too out of hand.

A knock on his door drew him from his thoughts.

“Callum,” Rayla’s voice came from behind the door, “are you ready?”

“Just a minute,” he called. A final once over in the mirror and he was heading across his room to the door.

“Sorry about that,” he said, pulling the door open, “I was just—”

The words died in his throat the moment he saw Rayla. Her hair was pulled back into a simple ponytail, a style that honestly suited her. The dress she’d picked out looked almost like purple datura, accents and organically curving lines of violet bleeding into pearlescent white fabric. Instead of her normal boots, she wore a pair of flats that matched her dress.

“Wow.”

Rayla frowned.

“Is that a good ‘wow’ or a bad ‘wow?”

“A bad wow? How could it be a bad wow? You’re beautiful!”

“Really?”

Rayla turned in place, inspecting her outfit.

“I can’t really tell. Formal dress’s never been my favorite thing.”

“Well, now it’s my favorite thing,” said Callum.

“I just took whatever the clerk told me I’d look good in.”

“Well, that clerk must have been a certified genius.”

Rayla looked up at him and smiled.

“Well, you don’t look too bad yourself.”

Ignoring the heat in his ears, Callum offered her his arm

“So, shall we go?”

To his delight, Rayla took it.

“We shall.”
