today at the library i revised and submitted an abstract for a student conference and made some headway on a mock presentation for monday! i’m taking a break and then will be making some mammalogy study materials this evening!!

Winter Studying Challenge 

When should people start preparing for, decorating and celebrating Christmas?

November 15th is a good time to start decorating but I don't have anything against decorating early November or late December 

What do you usually do during the holidays?

Sleep in, read and watch a lot of tv. Chaotoically prepare for christmas eve dinner   

What is a cherished family tradition from your childhood?

My family always watches home alone (on christmas day after opening presents), christmas with the kranks and how the Grinch stole christmas every holidays

tuesday, feb 2 • living alone diaries ep1, settling in with a new routine ♥

work has been getting a bit more stressful recently, because my manager doesn’t really know how to help early career / university grads very well – he also doesn’t take upwards feedback very well (is quite resistant to whatever feedback i give him), and is really vague when he gives me my feedback as well sighs. hoping this upcoming year can bring new changes, after he gets feedback from my coworkers as well 😔 this is your reminder to always speak up for yourself and provide upwards feedback !! if they don’t take it, it speaks more to who they are, than to who you are.

going over some old story notes before my work conference call! i’m still working remotely, which has been wonderful for my mental health. i have two six month old kittens who keep me company, climbing onto my desk chair and stealing my muji pens, and i get to put on whatever music i like and just chill and work and edit… i’m very fortunate to be in this situation. i hope everyone who reads this is also doing well - if you ever want me to send you photos of my kittens to cheer you up, send me a message ♡
