I've decided to end my life tonight. No looking back.
I really hope this was a cry for help. And if it was, I’m here.
But while I’m on this topic. Sending something like this to someone, anon or not, is so selfish. And before all of you go off the rails for me calling someone selfish, let me explain why. This is what I got to read to start my day off. Now you can imagine how a message like this could make me feel. Helpless. Just as you’re maybe feeling. But the difference is, you went out of your way to make someone feel like absolute garbage for not being able to do or say anything to stop this. So now you’re putting your pain into someone else’s hands. You’re making them feel like if they just could have done something, maybe you wouldn’t feel this way. Or maybe you wouldn’t have done it.
And in my personal opinion, when someone reaches out to someone else, it’s usually a cry for help. Not a warning of suicide. But this was a terrible way to approach it. This is also a super sensitive topic for me because 12 years ago my aunt killed herself. And I use the term selfish because that’s exactly what it is. My aunt selfishly took her life. She decided to leave behind four kids and the rest of her family to have to live with that feeling for the rest of their lives. To have to think that if they would have said or done something differently that she would still be here. By taking your own life you’re not thinking of the people around you that love and care about you. And as hard as life may seem sometimes, it does actually get better. Believe me, I’ve been there too. Your life and the things you learn and how you grow are measured in the hard times that you fight through. Giving up should never be an option. And you’re never given more than you can handle, the tough times are a test of your strength. Grow from those times.
