One of my favourite songs
You Da One - Rihanna
written by Ester Dean, Henry Walter, John Hill, Lukasz Gottwald and Rihanna.
[Lyrics]
You da one that I dream about all day. You da one that I think about always. You are the one, so I make sure I'll behave. ~My love is your love, your love is my love
Baby, I love you I need you here with me all the time. Baby, we meant to be You got me smiling all the time.
'Cause you know how to give me that. You know how to pull me back when I go runnin', runnin' Tryna get away from loving yea. You know how to love me hard I won't lie, I'm falling hard Yep, I'm falling for ya, but there's nothin' wrong with that.
Baby come, take me now Hold me now, make me come alive. You got the sweetest touch I'm so happy you came in my life.
And yes, I'm kinda crazy That's what happens, baby. When you put it down. You shouldn't give it to me good like that. Shouldn't hit it like that. Had me yellin' like that. Didn't know you would've had me coming back. You the one that I'm feeling You the one that I'm loving. Ain't no other niggas like you. No, there's just one, one, one, one, one, one. No, baby, just one, one, one, one. I bet you wanna know.
~My love is your love, your love is my love
^While perhaps unintentional, these lines echo the lyrics to Whitney Houston’s 1998 “My Love is Your Love” and Cheryl Lynn’s 1978 “Got To Be Real.”
After Whitney Houston’s death in 2012, Rihanna told UK Press that she would “give her entire life” to play Whitney in her biopic:
“ My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song: “I Will Always Love You.” It was really inspiring, and it made me develop a passion for music, so really, she’s partly responsible for me being here in this industry.

Enjoy a list of songs written and produced by American singer, songwriter, and producer Ester Dean.
Dean has written songs for many artists, with numerous Top 10 hits, including No. 1 hits for Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé and Katy Perry, earning the name “The Song Factory”.
My favourites, Super Bass -Nicki Minaj, You da one -Rihanna

will.i.am tells the story of writing the Black Eyed Peas hit “Where’s the Love”, and the surprising last-minute turn the song took when Justin Timberlake heard it and was inspired to write a part.. And winning songwriter Adam Friedman talks about the journey his song “Be Nice” made, from a cathartic hang-out with friends, through the alchemy of Songland, to become the next Black Eyed Peas single.
Taylor Swift - You Need To Calm Down
Patrón (coincidentally first released in 1989) is a high-quality tequila that people often drink in shots. On the other hand, if someone “takes shots” at another person, they’re trying to bash or humiliate them. The first explicit alcohol references of Swift’s career came on her 2017 album reputation, a notable departure from her formerly innocent, clean image.
It’s also interesting to note that patrón means “pattern” in Spanish, suggesting that Swift sees similar hateful messages targeted at her, often from the same people. Additionally, there’s a subtle connection to her 2017 track “Call It What You Want,” which also references being criticised by people who don’t truly understand you:
“ I want to wear his initial on a chain ‘round my neck Not because he owns me, but because he really knows me Which is more than they can say
In the song’s lyric video, the number 7 stays on screen after “it’s” and “AM” disappears, making a subtle reference to her 7th album, Lover.
Lord - Homemade Dynamite
Lorde’s friend recommends that his friend drive, but Lorde knows he’s intoxicated and can hardly see, meaning he’s in no state to drive and would likely crash.
She imagines this crash in these lines, with the “red and chrome” being their blood and the metal of the car, respectively.
She also compares the broken glass of the window of a crashed car to the broken glasses that are normally at parties. Even when crashing cars, she’s still partying, which fits in with her stated concept of Melodrama.
As the album’s concept revolves around a single house party, this verse also connects to the opening track, “Green Light", in which she is being driven to this same party she now sings about leaving.
Lorde - Homemade Dynamite
Continuing the conversation, she lets her distaste with deception be known, no matter how innocent. She has no interest in the lies of perfection, but finds true beauty in the raw truth.
The etymology of the woodwork idiom stems from the idea of insects and other ugliness suddenly revealed on the underside of a piece of wood. With that in mind, the first line seems to be in opposition of the second. To “let things come out of the woodwork” implies that these things are imperfect personality traits or pieces of their past.
The second line speaks of showing her best side which is to fabricate perfection. The contradiction between the “best” side and the real side is confirmed with sarcasm as she sings, “Yeah, awesome right?”
The best moment of Endgame was Tony and Nebula in the first 10 minutes
SZA, The Weekend, Travis Scott - Power is Power (For The Throne)
In ‘The Winds of Winter’, the season 6 finale of Game of Thrones, Arya Stark disguised herself as a serving girl so that she could get close to Walder Frey – the man responsible for the deaths of her mother and brother. Before killing him she lifts her mask, revealing her true identity and showing him that he wasn’t able to erase House Stark.
“ Arya Stark: My name is Arya Stark. I want you to know that. The last thing you’re ever going to see is a Stark smiling down at you as you die.
In the first episode of season 7, ‘Dragonstone’, Arya uses Walder’s face as a mask to kill the most important members of House Frey. After poisoning them at a feast, she delivers a speech as Walder revealing that despite their best efforts they failed to make House Stark extinct.
“ Arya Stark (as Walder Frey): Brave men, all of you. Butchered a woman pregnant with her baby. Cut the throat of a mother of five. Slaughtered your guests after inviting them into your home. But you didn’t slaughter everyone of the Starks. No, no. That was your mistake. You should have ripped them all out root and stem. Leave one wolf alive and the sheep are never safe.
SZA, The Weekend, Travis Scott - Power is Power (For The Throne)
Alludes to the most famous line from Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part 2:
“ Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.
The line is commonly misquoted as “Heavy is the crown,” or “Heavy is the head that wears the crown,” so much so that the misquote has become its own idiom.
While Shakespeare’s protagonist is reflecting on the psychic toll that power is taking on him, The Weeknd’s and SZA’s variations suggest that their strength makes them immune to such concerns.
SZA - Love Galore
“Crying over spilled milk” is an idiom that means getting upset over something that has already happened and can no longer be changed.
After SZA’s breakup, she decides not to regret the wasted time. The solution for cleaning up spilled milk is to wipe it up with a paper towel, and the solution for easing SZA’s pain is to take a Valium, an anti-anxiety medication.
“Paper towel / Valium” could be a reference to Gilmore Girls: in the ninth episode of the fifth season, “Emily Says Hello,” Lorelai says:
“ I need a paper towel and a valium, please.
