I’ve been thinking a lot about that UT!Spamtenna AU and so I wanna ramble about what I think my Spamtenna child’s place would be in it.
Refresher, Ethernette is 12 years old, 6’1, and uses She/Him pronouns :)
I think Ethernette in Undertale would be a couple years younger, like how people draw Susie little in the Undertale universe. She’s about 12 in Deltarune, so in Undertale she’d be maybe.. 4-6 years old?
In Deltarune, Ethernette lives full time with Tenna, and hardly knows Spamton as he wasn’t present in his life since she was literally a baby. And the little she DOES know about Spamton is bad because it’s what he learned from Tenna complaining about him. In the event you don’t let Tenna into your castle town post chapter 3, she’ll stay with the Addisons in their little corner of castle town. They’re considered her Uncles/Godfathers despite no blood relation (Other than being the same species of Darkner, partly.) I think Tenna got in contact with them for help on raising Ethernette since she presents more as an Addison than whatever you wanna call Tenna. Everything she learned about being an Addison came from Blue, Pink, Yellow, and Orange. (I just realized I haven’t posted my Addison designs here, ahh! Later, I guess.)
In Undertale, I think Spamton and Tenna’s marriage is.. actually successful! They’re not using each other for their own gain, no money or fame is involved… and I doubt Spamton ever got a call from the man on the phone. However… they do literally live in a dump. I think Ethernette was unplanned, and Spamton and Tenna wanted better for her. They’re Addisons in Undertale I think would work for Mettaton, and I think Spamton asks specifically Blue and Pink to take her in (they’re gayyyyyy) In Undertale I don’t think Spamton and the Addisons had a big falling out, rather I think Spamton used to work for Mettaton too, before getting fired and starting up work as a mailman. Anyway, because of this Ethernette doesn’t know Spamton or Tenna at all. Because she’s little, the Addisons don’t want to confuse her, but Blue and Pink send photos of her to Tenna and Spamton. They keep them hung up in their shop.
I think maybe after a battle, there would be an optional side quest that Tenna and Spamton give you. Much like how Undyne asks you to deliver a letter to Alphys on her behalf, I think they ask you to send a letter to Ethernette. Why doesn’t the mailman just deliver it himself? He’s tried! But every time he’s just about to, he chickens out and worries about making a bad impression, and so they ask Frisk if they can help them get it over with. Post-Pacifist, you’d find Ethernette connecting with her dads. She’s aware that the Addisons aren’t actually her parents, and always sort of just assumed that her parents just didn’t want her, so the letter clears it up, and they’ll get to be a proper family up on the surface.
