Something I never noticed about It’s a Super Life (5x13) is that when Kara goes to that last reality, it’s not just to show you what it would be like if they were never friends, it’s showing you what’s actively happening, like, right then it the actual reality they live in. It’s just dramatized. Lena in our world feels like Kara was never actually there for her throughout their relationship, that she was alone the whole time, because she’d been lying the whole time, and what does metallo Lena say to Kara within seconds of meeting her? “Where were you when this world was ripped apart by its seems? Where were you?” This is a timeline where Kara was never there, because that’s what Lena feels like already. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there when it mattered.” “So am I.” And literally right before this moment, Kara goes “We both want the same thing. To do no harm.” Who has a project that’s only command is to literally do no harm? And, as she’s killing Kara, she goes “You don’t know the first thing about pain. But I do. I can show you, make you feel what I feel.” Sound familiar to anyone? It should. “I wanted you to experience what you did to me. Feel what I felt.” Tremors - 5x7

They made a world where Lena was the villain, because she already felt like Kara thought she was one. “I’m not a villain. You shouldn’t have treated me like one.” So when Kara says that that was the most emotionally draining experience of her life, she never actually leaves it. She’s living it.
