Name: Yamato Arata

About him: He wants to study medicine, he has allergy towards animal fur, has a cheerful and bubbly personality,  loves plants so much that he becomes an otaku about it.

About his Quirk: Pollen Manipulation

He can produce different type of pollen (Paralysis, sleep inducing, poisonous pollen, or healing) or manipulate already existing pollen and give it an “effect”. His pollen is produced under his skin. The pollen will take effects if breathed or enters a body from their pores.

For the poisonous one, he creates an antidote just in case. He is still vulnerable to his own pollen if it gets breathed. His hero costume has gas mask to prevent him from affecting himself. 

The first time his quirk manifest, he made himself and his classmates fall asleep. The kindergarden teacher (who was in the toilet) nearly had a heart attack when she found her students all lying on the ground.

Bokumono Artwork Printed!

I still haven’t heard from the Nintendo Dream editor lately, but I ordered the August magazine anyway, since it includes a small Bokumono comic book by Igusa Matsuyama. It arrived today after a week in transit, urgh and…guess what’s featured at the bottom of page 16?!

They show almost all the artwork that was submitted! =D 

The section is entitled “Intense Support From Abroad!” and explains that they received a few entries from foreign countries. And they’re grateful for all the foreign love and support for the series! 

Yoshifumi Hashimoto, the series producer, commented upon Charmy and Moony’s entries. On Charmy’s, he said: “That’s a place with beautiful scenery. I’d like to go there sometime.” For Moony’s (which is Chase presenting Maya with some Cuban food), that Cuban food seems fascinating, and he thinks he’s love to try it someday! (Since he added the equivalent of a “lol” at the end of it, I think he might be a bit nervous about it, haha. But I see the same reaction from anyone when I suggest they try Japanese food…and got the same reaction in Japan when suggesting Tex-Mex food.)

I was planning to introduce each fan art submission I received via this blog, beginning in July, if I didn’t hear back from Nintendo Dream. But, even though I’ve heard back, well… I’d still like to feature them, and now that school is out for the summer vacation most of North America and Europe (and other places), thought it would be a great time to work up some more enthusiasm for the series! ^^ …And many students have more time to draw/play games/whatever.

Address for the Nintendo Dream Fanart Contest! (International Ver.)

This is a continuation of the whole thing about the art contest. (See the linked post for the gritty details.)

Now, Nintendo Dream wants physical copies of each piece of artwork, although sending them digitally is the easiest for most people. Therefore, I set up an email address to those who want to send their art digitally:

If you’d prefer to send a physical copy of your artwork, please contact the above address for information on where to send it.

When you submit a piece of artwork, please include:

Your name (a screenname or alias is OK)

Where you live (naming the state/province/region, or even just the country is OK)

Also, keep in mind:

I will be sending no more than 15 pieces of artwork to Nintendo Dream. However, those I don’t select will probably be featured on this blog!

Nintendo Dream would like to see artwork that reflects an ‘international’ theme. That could be HM/SoS characters in native dress, doing some kind of activity that is popular in your area, preparing native food, in a native landscape…whatever you want to do! They want to see artwork that reflects the culture of the area where you live!

My printer (an old inkjet) is…OK at printing and actually handles colours quite nicely; however, the quality of digital art could be compromised somewhat. 

I might be able to get higher quality prints from a library or drugstore photo service, but that comes at a cost. Regardless, money for shipping the artwork comes out of my own pocket. Please consider donating a dollar or two, if you can afford it!

There is no deadline, though I would really love to send these by the beginning of June! 

Any game in the Bokumono series can be featured in your artwork. This includes all Harvest Moon games up until A New Beginning and Story of Seasons. This does not include The Lost Valley or Seeds of Memories. They are not part of the Bokumono franchise.

I look forward to see what kind of stuff you draw, and I know the staff of Nintendo Dream is looking forward to seeing art from international fans!!
