Theory: Dabi's can make white flames
Trying to decipher a black and white manga's colour scheme is... a nightmare tbh, but check this out
This is what Dabi's blue flames look like. Dark grey colour with light grey highlights and a black outer part.
This is what red fire looks like. Lighter grey colour with white specks throughout, and no dark outlines
And this is what Dabi's fire looked like recently. Definitely not his usual dark blue, and there's way too much white to be back to normal red
This looks to be the same colouring style used during his childhood incident, so we can assume these were the same colours. Endeavor says these flames were over 2000 degrees (probably too hot to be red), and since these are obviously not blue it means they are another colour entirely
This would mean Dabi had a quirk awakening during the war arc, much like Shigaraki during MVA (he did an ability that he had locked away(?) since childhood). This would also means that the Sekoto fire was white, and that the Todoroki Family probably thought Touya's flames had turned white all this time.
I know I'm not the only one to notice this, but I just thought the colour comparisons were cool. If they end up colouring them white in the anime I'm going to be so excited
(I'm also curious what his quirk in the manga will look like going forward. Unfortunately, he hasn't used his quirk since the war, so it's unclear if this was a full blown quirk awakening or if it was just a one time thing.)
