Wedding Photography - Documentary vs Traditional
I have spoken with people regarding wedding photographer choices - would you like documentary photojournalist approach or traditional portraiture. I was really really surprised when some people said - oh, documentary of course, but I want some retouching to the pictures so I look really good. What an irony!
What people miss is that documentary in general and documentary wedding photography is not about improving your looks, it is about true reality, as seen through the camera. Documentary photographers will seek to catch the perfect moment on the camera and not create it in the Photoshop!
On the other hand when we speak about traditional portraiture wedding photography it involves so much post-processing work that the amount of photos you will get will be limited, unless you have unlimited budget. Retouching work requires a lot of time, after all.
This photographer talks about mixing the two styles to create perfect service for your wedding day.

Spend Time With Kids
With summer being in full swing it is essential not to forget about the life. About the family. About your children. About your other (better) half. Time is flying quicker with each passing year. Don’t waste it. Do something together - go for a walk, make BBQ, photograph something, play a ball in the garden or park, just have a sit and read. It does not really matter what you do. Do it together. Kids learn from you. No, not from what you say. They learn from what and how you do. Action is the best teacher. Summertime is great to spend together in the garden. Even if you are busy doing something like mowing your lawn, weeding the patch, making BBQ - try to do it with your spouse or partner and take kids with you and speak with them and let them participate. That will make everybody stronger.

Not enough weddings
This is really strange. Weddings. I have not attended that many weddings. Especially when I was young. Was it due to the fact that nobody was marrying young? Was it due to the fact that I was one of the first of our friends to marry? I have no clue. But recently we have been invited to more and more weddings. I'm not quite sure if that is an age related or not. I am always really surprised when we get an invitation as if this was something unreal. I know that as we grow older we have more friends and family, but my relatives from younger generation have not yet started their family lives, so I guess I have a chance to go to some fantastic parties. I can only hope that I'm not too old to have some fun by then. I got married in my mid twenties and we invited mostly friends. The party lasted long after we left and we had a chance to listen to funny stories later! It seems photographer actually captured some of it – this was some time ago, but to get a good wedding photography package in Berkshire head to https://aurumphoto.com/pages/offers/
Cheers!
Not enough laughter
I see how every day at work we try to be serious. Meet the deadlines! Do this! Do that! Deliver on time! We have to do it!
Do we really? What will change if we are a day late? Maybe we’ll do it better? Oh often so.
And will t be a bad thing if we play with our children before bedtime? Or is it better to come home after they are in the bed?
My kids gave me a laugh. Nothing special, just “Daddy, daddy” and hugs :) I think we should just try to relax and love our family - kids and spouses. We’ll be happier and more healthy, as its said that every smile prolongs your life.
Employers, listen, we have families. We want to see families (well maybe not all of us)! Love and smile and laugh.

Supermarket Destiny
I have been noticing that once we are really unhappy about prices or service or quality of a given supermarket we soon see some news about poor performance of that shop... This have happened over and over. I guess most people value same thing and everybody loves good bargain, but only if it is usable or edible in this instance! We live in a place where closest supermarket is Sainsbury's, in fact two of them. But we also go to Lidl and Aldi for obvious reasons. I cannot fault those two, although I personally like Lidl more. Not about them this time. We used to go to Morrisons quite often at one point - they had good fruit and vegetables at a good price as well as perfect meat at reasonable cost. Some time ago we stopped, but kept going there for some specific stuff, maybe once in three months. Well - last weekend we thought that we should give Morrisons a try. Went in there for full shopping trip. I cannot say it was too bad as it was actually quite good. We enjoyed picking up stuff not available at usual places, but we also did some basic things. The problem was that it felt a bit too expensive all through. Still, I picked up some pork leg joint at £3 per and beef joint at £6. It seemed like a great deal at that point, until we did not jump into Sainsbury's following day to purchase some extras - I saw pork at £2.50 (!!!) and beef at £4. Incredible! I guess we'll stick with Sainsbury's + Lidl for now!
