“I kind of figured… you work too much.” Taryn laughed softly. He walked over and held the coffee out to Richard before he found an open chair and unceremoniously dropped into it. “I’m good. Bored as of late, but good.” His smile was warm and open before he sipped slowly at his coffee. “Any interesting new artists? Anyone I’d know?”

“They never said it was a bad thing to work too much, at least that’s what my parents always said” Rich had told his friend as he took the coffee and took the first sip which warmed him up. “You know we can always use a mail guy or you can be my intern in a way.” He nodded to Taryn. “On your down time of course. There are some new artists. Janet Murrey, oh this band came in, Freeze Frame. They are great. You can come and listen if you want”

It wasn’t often that Taryn chose to visit his friends at their work places. But sometimes, in cases like Richard where they worked far too much, he found that he needed to make exceptions. “’s just me…” He called as he nudged the door open and slipped inside. A cheery smile was fixed on his features and he had two coffees, one clutched in each hand. “I brought you a pick me up! I thought you could use it.”

Seeing it was Taryn and some coffee, his serious toned face turned to a happy smile. “Awe, thank you. I do need a pick me up. I still have some studio work to get to and also contracts still going. I’ve got a few interviews” Rich was one to to keep himself better for the best of his mental state but he was glad to have friends like Taryn. “So how are you doing?”

“Is that how you greet all your friends,” James started saying as he stepped inside, “or is that voice for the ones you hate?” There was a teasing grin on his face, showing Richard the box of pizza he had brought over for him. “It’s break time, man. You need to eat.” 

Seeing that it was James he took off his glasses and set them down on the desk. “Its my professional or trying to be professional voice.” He joked back. Sighing at the pizza that he saw with James. “Already that time? Jesus. But hey, I can never say no to you or the pizza”

Ren was a bit startled at how aggressive the man got, and how quickly, but he held his ground, eyeing him firmly. “Taking a life is permanent. You cannot undo it, no matter what the reason. Believe me, even if it sounds and feels like a good idea at the time, and you tell yourself what you’re doing is right… it doesn’t always feel that way afterwards.” He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. 

“Look. I obviously can’t stop you from whatever you’re going to do, but if you’re looking for an enabler, that’s not me.” Ren looked up at him. “The reason the dream is reoccuring is because you can’t stop thinking about it. You’re haunted by the memory. Rightly so, but there’s only two ways to stop it. You can either accept her death, and accept that her killer is the biggest pile of scum on the face of the earth, and get on with your life. Or, you can do as you want, and hunt him down.” He leaned back in his chair, thinking for a moment. “His initials are B.R.”

His anger was getting in the way at this point and there was very little that could calm him down. His temper before being bitten was nonexistent but now, he was just angry. Angry about everything, or maybe it was the one thing that made him feel so irritated. The fact that someone took his sister’s life instead of his own. He would die for his family or at least his siblings and it seemed he didn’t know what to do. “I’ll take my chances” he simply stated. 

“I’m haunted by my own life. I had a good life before all of this went down and here I am, stuck.” Rich stood up and started to move around the room, seeing a figurine on the shelf. “Do you know how hard it is, knowing that you couldn’t save your family? Knowing that you’re probably the reason that your sister died, or that another brother ran off never to be seen again. Hell I don’t talk to my parents anymore and it kills me”

“Enter? That sounds so official”. Mathias slipped into the room, his usual bag of stuff in hand. He looked around the room before his eyes settled on the werewolf in front of him, “Evening, Richard. Thought I’d stop by and say hi”.

A soft chuckle escaped as he looked at Mathias and all of his glory. “Hi to you too Mathias. How’s your day been?” He asked, thinking that maybe he could use a five minute break.

Ren started to take notes on his pad, brows furrowing as the dream turned darker and darker. The subject of murder and revenge in dreams was something he was familiar with, but being hunted down was an unusual twist. “I see.” He hummed. “Well, obviously literally going out to find and kill this man will overall do more harm than good to you, so I don’t recommend that.” He joked lightly. “I am sorry for your loss, though. Did you witness her death, and this is your memory of it? Or do you think you’re recreating it in your mind?”

“Excuse me?” Richard questioned as he leaned in on his seat. On the edge as he was trying to make sense of what he said. “Why would it do more ham than good? It would be justice for my sister. No I didn’t see her death but I saw her lifeless body. My vision only shows her scream and then blood everywhere. You can’t give me a name or even a face to the man?” Rich started to get aggravated at the thought. All he wanted to do in life was hunt this man down like he was.

After working through some papers and getting some contracts finalized for the musicians he had in line, he looked up to his white board and then heard a knock at the door. Turning his head he spoke up. “Enter” He called as the music producer pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. Hopefully it would be quick so he could go to the recording studio and help with recording.

Ren gave his newest client a once-over; he didn’t look too disheveled, but there were bags under his eyes. He knew that look, knew it by heart at this point. “Of course.” He nodded, giving the man his full attention. “Tell me about this dream. How many times has it occurred? And what is it about?”

His eyes were now on Ren as he heard that he could give answers. A sense of relief washed over him as he nodded to Ren. “Well it’s been coming up for over a week and a half now. And it’s me, running through the woods into a fog but then it turns into a scene where I see my sister get killed. A hunter tried to take out my brother and I years ago and took out my sister. I want to know this man and kill him”

“You can send the next one in, Wendy.” Ren told his receptionist with a sigh, and right after she closed his door he rubbed at his temples. Out of everywhere he had traveled, which was extensively, this town had the highest concentration of bad dreams and nightmares that he had ever encountered. The amount of work he was going to have to do tonight was exhausting, but if it meant making someone’s life a bit more bearable… he could live with it. He was snapped out of his thoughts when his door opened again, to see a new face.

“Hello, there. I’m Dr. Akiyama, but please, call me Ren.” He smiled to the person gently, and reached out to shake their hand. “Take a seat, get yourself comfortable, please. Let me know if you’d like any water or tea.” He watched them settle down before taking out his notepad and pen, taking a silent but deep breath. “Now tell me, what brings you in today?”

He felt so overwhelmed with his latest dreams. They repeated every night for about a week and a half now and he knew that he once he found the werewolf or hunter, whatever it was that killed his sibling, Richard would rip them limb from limb. He was slowly losing his mind and the suggestion was that he should see the dream counselor. He wasn’t a firm believer that someone could help his problems but he might as well give it a shot. Once he was told he could step in, Richard fixed his jacket and made way into his office. Taking a seat and just looking around the room before answering his question, he was sheepish. “I um.. I was wondering if you could give answers to a reoccurring dream?”  Richard asked.

“Yea it is near a park. My apartment is around there as well.” He spoke up with a grin on his face. “We all have our moments. I know I do. I’m Richard by the way”

Richard: Right gotcha

Richard: If you are being honest, at least tell me if I'm annoying you

Richard: I'll stop if you come over.

Richard: We can just watch a movie

Jacob: That's a Taylor Swift Song.

Richard: That's basically what I'm saying yea. Come see me instead

Richard: Booty call or not, you shouldn't go to your ex.

Richard: That was my mistake before.

Richard: Umm.. you can put it that way. He also didn't get along with my family. I should've known he was trouble from the start.

Jacob: The line is wider when your tolerance to everything is raised a kajillion percent.

Richard: Yea, it's probably good that you don't get in touch.

Richard: I mean from my experience, reaching out to my ex didn't go well at all.

Richard: I can relate to that
