just my two cents about Andy leaving the show…
reading the comics you feel like this is Ricks story and his point of view on the ZA. and even though there’s 500 characters and storylines on the show you still feel like it’s his journey that we’ve been watching since S1, you know? I think taking Rick out of the show is the dumbest shit they could do. if it was Andys choice I obviously respect it. and tbh I can’t blame him bc the show has been going downhill fast the last few seasons.
it’s really disappointing. it’s not the same show I fell in love with and got obsessed with. it used to be so fresh and exciting to see a new episode every week. now it’s stale and repetitive. what’s been keeping me were my faves. one of them being Glenn. them so horribly killing him was the beginning of the end for me. all I had stayed for was Richonne… and now they’re gonna be torn apart.
i’m not tryna watch Rick die after EVERYTHING. after this epic journey and all he’s survived. and I’m definitely not tryna watch Michonne lose yet another loved one and have to go through that pain again.
let me fucking talk about Michonne for a sec… she was so far gone and lost and broken when we were first introduced to her. we saw her slowly find friendships and family again and make her way back to her old self. we see her heal rick and carl in ways they don’t even realise after losing a mom and wife, by taking that place and role in their lives. and they fill the hole her losses had left in her. it was beautiful.
and after all that healing and connecting with someone - letting herself - connect with someone only to lose them again (carl)… it broke my heart. she found the love of her life in rick, and he did with her. they are one of the most beautiful and touching couples I’ve ever seen in fiction. after all their loss and pain they found each other and found a reason to live again, to smile again.
and now rick is gonna die?
now we have to watch michonne go through that level of loss and pain again?
