Study Diary #15

It's been almost a month since I last posted anything. I was really busy doing research for my dissertation. I finally started working on it and the entire month was spent just reading. On Monday (26th Aug, 2024), I started writing the first chapter of my dissertation and managed to write 2,200 words. Yesterday (27th Aug, 2024), I finished the first chapter and sent it to my supervisor for feedback. I am also going to discuss my plans regarding PhD courses for the future with her. Also, had a meeting with my Creative Writing Society (I have been promoted to the Vice-president position) about our upcoming events. Today was a long day. I will be working in the Enrolment units as a Student Ambassador for the September Intakes at my university and the training was today. London had good weather today - it's supposed to be a sunny week✨.

Study Diary #14

It's been a long time and I was crazy busy. Last Saturday (3rd August, 2024) was the last working day of one of my co-workers. They were the one who taught me how to make latte heART. We went out drinking the whole night and I returned home at 5:40am. The first two pictures are from when I was walking back home. Also, the birthday of a close friend is on Thursday (8th August, 2024) and I have made this greeting card for them. I hope they like it. I will be working on the Chapter I for my dissertation. Very stressed about it.

Study Diary #13

Yesterday I went to get coffee with the President of my Creative Writing Society (I am the Socials Chair of the Society) who is also a good friend of mine. Even though it was for just 1 hour, we were able to share updates about our life and have a great yapping session. After that I went to get a few groceries for Dinner and came across a couple after their wedding at the City Council House. The sun felt great on my skin and it truly made me realise why being out of the house once in a while is important. Today, I am focusing on reading more and I have a few Student Ambassador jobs as well as a meeting with my Dissertation Supervisor lined up for the week. I am going to be busy but it will all be worth it.

Study Diary #12

As I sat down to do some reading, the fire alarm of my dorm went off. Apparently, there was a fire in one of the classrooms and we had to wait outside for 30 minutes due to this. After I came back to the room, I made myself a nice cup of coffee and there was a pleasant rainbow outside of my window for me to enjoy. Will get back to studying soon. Hopefully, no more interruptions.

Study Diary #11

I have been procrastinating on writing my research proposal for the past 2 weeks. Today was a blue day. I could not bring myself to focus on it. I am so tired and I just want to sleep. Will write it tomorrow and send it to my supervisor for feedback. In the meantime, I am doing Student Ambassador jobs and trying to stay within my meagre budget till I receive my next salary. I have been looking for new jobs but either I don't receive a response from them or I am rejected. Why is life so hard when I am trying my best?

Study Diary #10

Today, I finished moving from my old dorm room (left) to my new one (right). It's smaller and it will take me a bit of time to adjust but I am happy. The view outside is incredible (excuse my shitty camera) so I am hoping that having a study desk beside my window will motivate me to study more. I felt very sad leaving my old dorm room even though I had only lived there for five months. But as life progresses, I have to learn to let go and move onto better things even if it is uncomfortable and painful.

Study Diary #9

Yesterday, I worked my first day as a Student Ambassador and it was amazing. I had a bit of a hard time talking at first but as the day went on I was able to talk more with the other Ambassadors. Also an aesthetic picture of the Campus that I worked on - this is not my main campus - but it is part of the University. Today, I talked with my Dissertation Supervisor regarding my research proposal. She feels that I have everything under control so I am a bit happy about that. But I have to start with reading and working on my research proposal.

Study Diary #8

Guys, I DID IT!!! I finally have a DISTINCTION - my score for the last essay assessment came and I got a score of 72🌟. It might not seem like much but in Literature courses at University level you are not awarded marks above 74-75 (University Policy in UK) as anything above 75 is considered to be worthy enough of being published in literary journals. I am literally so happy right now that I can't stop smiling 😁. The professor really liked my research and remarked that I interacted with the brief, research, and analysis materials very deeply. I guess part of the happiness comes from the fact that I focused on Multilingualism amongst students in India - as there are not many research materials that are focused on my country and this in a way validates my efforts in studying and researching about my country - that too in a foreign place.

Study Diary #7

Going to try and get back into my reading rhythm from today onwards. Current read is 'The End of the Tether' by Joseph Conrad. Also, made myself a lovely cup of coffee that I forgot to take pictures of ☕😬. I have a video call scheduled with my friends for later on this evening. I hope I can do more actual reading before my first meeting with my Dissertation Supervisor.

Study Diary #6

When I saw that the scores for my 'Victorian Explorations' module was put up today - I panicked a bit before opening it because I was expecting the worst - but this is the highest score I have gotten till now and I am on cloud 9. Back in the Merit Zone BABY!!!The professor found a lot of my points and quotations interesting and that makes me feel happy about all the hard work that I put into this. I can now do my grocery shopping in peace now.

P.S. I know that I only end up putting my results here but soon I will start my dissertation research and will try to post more aesthetic study pictures❤️❤️❤️.

Study Diary #5

Not exactly a great score - Back into the 'Pass' section but there is nothing that I can do. I just wanted to put this up to track my progress - it is 2 points higher than my previous submission for this module but I am not that happy with this. As I was seeing the comments put in by my professor I could see the stupid places where I made mistakes. But there is nothing that can be done to change it😶.

The result for one of my assessments was put up on Monday but I saw it today after my friend informed me about it. Though it's not the score I was hoping for it is still better than my last one and that makes me happy. I hope as I continue working through my course I keep on improving in my assessments. I am actually surprised that I don't feel bad about the score. I guess it's because 60 is classified in the 'Merit' score. Looking forward to the remaining results.

I DID IT!!! I have finally finished all my assessments. Woke up at 5:00am today and finished this essay by 11:30am. I am so proud of myself for this. Will rest for the entire day and catch up on my sleep. I look forward to pampering myself and just relaxing this entire week. ❤️

I am currently studying while sitting in the Kitchen. My dinner is cooking on the hob behind me and I am stressed about my reading material. The night sky looks beautiful (it's 8:43pm). Days are long and nights are short. The submission deadline is on Monday and I haven't started writing yet, but I have faith that I will somehow manage it. I always do...

Study Diary #1

I had worked really hard on this assessment and was expecting a really good grade. But that did not happen. I am so angry at myself for not doing better and I just can't shake off the feeling of being a disappointment. I couldn't share this with my friends or family because I am so embarrassed about this. But I needed to get this off my chest so what better way than Tumblr. I have more submissions coming up and hopefully none of them end up like this.
