Concept work for some of the scenes, VFX design for dust, water, tears, bird poop, too many things to name. Some highlights of this project- Outside of working with a very trusting director and art director, I loved working closely with the 3D team and giving further notes and adjustments where needed to help get the designs right. I ended up printing a little book for myself of all the work I did since it was such a huge volume, more than I can fit on here. Dog Days is a short film commissioned by the Filmfonds of the Netherlands. While being an art director for this project was my main position, I was also involved in many other aspects. We had a small and incredibly hardworking team. Translating the intense perspectives in the boards by director George was a challenge, but a fun one. A few of the background paintings for the official Two Tiny Toddlers songbook. A remaster of the original book taking after the newly released feature film. With wonderful character art and layouts by Isabella Koelman. Cover and title design. This book was written to process and share a personal life story as a survivor of multiple psychosis, and a commentary on medical care in the Netherlands as a retired nurse going through these major ups and downs. It's been appreciated by clinic professionals dealing with similar cases. During the concept stage I quickly latched on to the creative therapy present in the writing, and how the creations were so prominently on display throughout the authors home. The knitting could tell a story, I thought. The process of recovering from a psychosis is a long one, and you are never the same person. You create a new beginning using the same materials, but the person that comes out is changed. Unfortunately, it can unravel again, but you can start knitting anew. A series of stylized illustrations with minimal animation. For the exposition Werken bij Provinsiehuis Zuid-Holland this short film aims to showcase the many drastic changes the Provinciehuis has gone and will be going through.

I worked with limited historic images and lovingly preserved collections of information to highlight some of the people living and breathing during these times. The lines flowing in and out of the illustrations are a continuation of the Zuid-Holland building's branding.

Poster for One Night Films Festival in Tokyo, Japan. 2018 had Dutch movies as a highlight so they asked me permission to use one of my works. I ended up using this part of a larger piece that I was already working on. Dates and times were later added in Japanese at the bottom.
