His words echoed distantly to her memories, where a great rage had been built. There she the voice of another’s memories, one who had appeared like a parasite to feed of the shared consciousness of the hivemind. Her head lowered with a baring of fangs. He was the intruder she had been sent to destroy…
But his mannerisms were different, and he spoke with a voice unlike that she remembered from his short moments in the hivemind. He was trying to flatter her, worship her even.
She did not trust his scent. It reeked of her kind, and he walked and spoke in the ways of her old masters, as if to mock her weakened form.
'Know you?' She hissed, ‘Sent to kill you. Now… unsure’
She remained ever wary of the small newt-human, untrusting of his round, blackened eyes… She would not kill him, not yet.
His arms lowered and he sighed, the blackness fading into clear green. "Oh. Well, I suppose that's something. I know I couldn't expect the Masters to accept me as one of their own, even when they took the planet with my help."
He turned his head up to her with a dopey smile, eyes shining in amazement. "At least they let me be killed by someone as beautiful as you."

"Newt?" Splotch walked over to the prophet, tilting his head and nuzzling a bit. "Are you all right?" he reached through the hive mind, brushing his consciousness against his. "Are the masters giving you new orders?"
"Their fucking orders melted my brain man. I ain’t made for this shit like you are.” he moaned, sprawled out on his soft bed with a ice pack on his head and a bottle of hot water on his back.
Splotch rumbled softly and gently laid with him with a frown. “I don’t want to loose you, Newt, as a friend or our Prophet.” he said keeping his voice soft. “What if you could be though?” he said in reference to being made to do it.
"That would be awesome if I was." he mumbled.
She heard the faint footfalls and felt the air thicken with the scent of something unnatural. Her eyes darted about until she spotted the intruder to her quiet space.
It, or he, was strange to her. He was human… yet drenched with the scent of her kind and littered with the twisted physical attributes that the old masters once used to create her and her kin.
Otachi snarled and hissed, rearing her head back weakly as the strange human-creature reached his hand out to her. He looked familiar, and old instincts and orders tried to scream his name to no avail… His presence confused and enraged her, and she wished him to be gone.
’Leave!’
The hivemind had been humming again since the arrival of the pest, and she secretly hoped that it meant that another survivor of her kin was near, so that it could force the small thing away from her weakened self.
He paused, staring up at her with big, black eyes. "Why should I? You are beautiful, dearest creature, moreso than I ever could have expected. Do you know me, great one?"
Whether his words be his own, worshipful and true, or that of the Master's, cunning yet proud, the inflection was the same: she was a wondrous beast, Otachi, second only to, perhaps, Slattern. But Slattern, to this Newt, had yet to be created, and would only appear when the Titans reached their hands to the Breach once more.
But he didn't know that. So he merely stared up at her in wonder, the Masters watching from behind his eyes.
