KID COSMIC 5TH ANNIVERSARY
I have a lot of things that I love about this show. I love it for picking me up after a terrible end to 2020, for its phenomenal presentation and style, shaping the way I'd be drawing things even today, for having such a great cast of plucky, scrappy leads, for its kickass soundtrack, and for giving me two of my all time favorite characters ever.
And that's only scratching the surface.
Happy 5th anniversary, Kid Cosmic.
Happy (late) birthday to Kid Cosmic!!
Crossover (and swap)
Happy Birthday, @crackmccraigen! 💜🥳(31st March)
I like to think Kid Cosmic and Wander Over Yonder happen in the same universe :)
I watched Wander Over Yonder for the first time recently and it got me good, super fun cartoon that I highly recommend!
A human Snake and Mouse Halloween pic I forgot to upload here.

What better way to celebrate the original Chicken Little movie's 20th anniversary than to bring back my dream remake of it?
AU where everything is the same but they are all Cow And Chicken characters.
Sorry Not Sorry.
If this were backwards, Mabel would be like "Super Mabel al rescate!".
You've heard of Powerpuff Girls Z , now get ready for… Kid Cosmic GT! Last year I gave Craig McCracken's Kid Cosmic a watch, and to say I liked it would be an understatement. I loved it! In fact, if you're an animation fan and haven't give it a chance on Netflix, what are you waiting for? But I'm not here to talk about the series itself, but rather, a idea I came up with while watching it. What if Kid Cosmic got the same treatment as McCracken's other superhero cartoon and had its own anime adaptation?
The result would be "Kid Cosmic GT", or, more exactly, "Global Heroes GT". The main story for this anime would go like the following.
Here's a very late Christmas artwork I've done in line with Charles Dickens 's "A Christmas Carol" turning 180 last year and both Mickey Mouse and the public domain becoming trending topics lately. Behold, the ultimate Christmas Carol crossover! Oh, and before someone wonders about this piece being very late for Christmas, here in Latin America some people leave their decorations until this very week for the most. So, consider this as a farewell to the holiday season.
One day, as I was surfing IG, I came across a deleted scene for "The Mitchells vs. The Machines" uploaded by Guillermo Martinez , the movie's head of story. It was an alternate version of the Mitchells' fight with the giant Furby. Instead of Rick having the idea to mimic his possum trap in order to defeat the Furby, Katie would have suggested her family to stand on top of each other. That way, Aaron could throw a bag of unpopped popcorn on the toy's beak so as to explode it from the inside. You can find a link to that scene as a highlight story in my account. When discovering this deleted scene , the first thing that came to my mind was the fairy tale "The Bremen Town Musicians (or "The Musicians of Bremen" as it's also called), which had its four animal protagonists doing the same as what the Mitchells would do initially. Excluding the popcorn bit that is; the animals actually made a lot of noise in order to scare a bunch of robbers away. P.D: Thinking about the similarities between Bremen and Mitchells, I wondered: "What if the Mitchells took the roles of the animals in the story?". Thus, I have written a fanfic based on that idea that you can find on my Deviantart account "rodrickart17" under the name "The Mitchell Musicians of Bremen". You can check it out if you are interested.

Dolby Theater, March 27th 2022. The Oscars are about to begin. Among various live action actors, directors and similar film crew, some CGI animated characters and a 2-D Amin Nawabi (Flee) look for their seats apart from those that belong to the directors of their respective movies. Among the CGI toons are Raya and Sisu; next to them, Luca, Alberto and Giulia. Amin, in particular, wears a tuxedo while Sisu only wears a tie. Raya, on the other hand, wears an elegant dress. They all sit. The spectators around these toon stars clap and cheer at them with eerie-looking faces and smiles. Last but not least, two toon families in elegant clothing also find their seats among the clapping spectators. At one side, the Madrigals; at the other, the Mitchells. The spectators suddenly stop clapping as the two families sit and get comfortable. Aaron Mitchell, along with Monchi (who also wears a little tuxedo, like a little gentleman), get closer to where Antonio Madrigal is. Aaron stares at Antonio and does a little dino roar while showing his T-Rex snapper.
ANTONIO: Guys, take a seat!
At this command, some wild animals appear out of nowhere: a leopard, a few capibaras, a toucan, a few tapirs, some coatis… Aaron feels uncomfortable about this. Monchi, on the other hand, gets scared at the animals and leaves towards the rest of the Mitchell family. Aaron follows him. Meanwhile, Rick gets approached by Linda.
LINDA: I don’t know about you honey, but I hope Encanto wins.
RICK: Enchan…to? You mean the one with that, what was called… “Bruno”… song? Aaron never stops seeing that video Katie has made with Monchi barfing it.
Now that the Oscars are just around the corner, I’ve been thinking of how 2022 was the year of the Pinocchio cinematic universe. Last year we’ve seen the famous wooden boy asking his father when can he leave to be on his own, smelling horse dung, delving into the concepts of obedience and life in 1930s Italy and stealing Jack Horner’s thunder. Based on that, I’ve made this concept poster for an idea I’ve had back on 2016 about the Steven Universe characters tackling the story of Pinocchio in a generic modern setting (you know, with cars and videogames and such). I was 14 at the time, so the whole concept was flawed from the get go. Firstly, Geppetto’s counterpart was called “Greg Petto” and Pinocchio’s gem would glow when he lied. With that you can tell how creative I got when coming up with the idea. It was because of the flawed concept that I ended up cancelling it in favour of other more promising projects of mine, like the one about Wendy Corduroy I’ve talked about previously. Nonetheless, I still have a place in my heart for Pinocchio Universe, so that’s why I’ve made the poster. The base for it was the cover of a Pinocchio book made by the Indian press "Kohwai & Young" for their "My Big Book of Favorite Fairy Tales" series. Oh, and by the way, I chose Garnet as the counterpart of Stromboli back then because in the original book he (who was named Mangiafuoco) felt pity for Pinocchio.
My Potential Projects 2: “Teens” (Concept Art Included!)
“You know how to say ‘I missed you’ in elephant language?”
A year or so ago I was remembering the Bob the Builder special A Christmas To Remember. When doing that, I just couldn’t help but compare the story role of Bob and Tom’s toy elephant, Jumbo, with that of Rick’s wooden moose in one of my all-time favorite movies, The Mitchells vs. the Machines (I gave that moose the fan-nickname of “Gulpi” by the way, considering the elephant had a name).
