arden.
“And yet all I can do is complain because my word holds no weight here.” Arden huffed, trying to remain respectful and keep her head held up high despite the whole situation. It was such a minor consequence compared to what she imagined others had to deal with after their participation in Panic, being forced to sit out a pageant or two. The reason this hit her harder than any of the other times she had been singled out or talked down to in the pageant circuit wasn’t because of the crown or the money or even the exposure it could give to the winner. No, the hardest blow was to her pride. Because she believed that she had worked her ass off and earned her place in their community and it clearly wasn’t the case. It just felt like all her personal progress had been undermined. “I hate to say it. But I think it just means that maybe we’ve surrounded ourselves by shitty people.” She shook her head. “I know that in the grand scheme of things it could be worse. I know there’s people out there who have worse shit going on. And I know that eventually things will blow over, at least I hope they do. It’s just….it’s not even an approval thing so much. More of a respect thing. Like do I really wanna keep putting up with this shit anymore? Is it even worth it? I don’t know anymore.” She smiled genuinely, so thankful to have Rosie’s support more than ever. “Did you really just give up ice cream for me?”
“Sure, in the grand scheme things might look like they are.... trivial, that’s the right word right? Trivial.” Rosie asked her good judy before she went back into what she’d been saying. “But like, come on, if you’re upset right now because you’re being treated horrid, you’re allowed to be upset. Don’t talk down your anger. No way. You’re angry and rightfully so.” Rosie told the blonde with a nod of her head, as she was angry for Arden herself. “Oh, it’s so worth it.” She let Arden know. “Because come on, there’s no one else in this scene like you. Like no offense, you didn’t come from anything and like, you’re here doing it. Better than some of the b-i-t-c-hes who have been doing it their whole lives.” Rosie said, that was also including herself. Not that Rosie had ever really been all that interested in the pageants. If she learned anything during her whole pregnancy sabbatical, it was that she honestly had done pageants for the pretty clothes... and the notoriety because she would rather just wear pretty clothes and get paid for doing that. Like a Kardashian. “Yeah, I did. This ice cream was made to support people with super wrong opinions and like, that’s so whack.”
