Part of my journey that I'm going to try and focus on this week is- Declutter Read more Yoga more Actually plan out a grocery list with meal plans instead of just always buying too much rice and salsa.
Taking better care of me
So I’ve decided I need to take better care of my self (mind & body). Work has been taking over my life making my job less enjoyable. I think if i can better my way of living, I can better my attitude towards those tough work days. I’ve been overly stressed and I want to handle it better and learn to relax.
Where I am:
I am a microbiologist in a food pathogen lab
23 years old
looking into applying for grad school to pursue food science.
Training for a half marathon & have been doing yoga for a few months now.
I’ve been living in a new city for a year now and now live on my own without a roommate for the first time
So yeah, I’m stressed a lot
Anyone who has tips on how they relax and organize their life please feel free to share!
So being in your 20s is weird. Between getting your career started and being completely independent, moving to new places to reach your dreams, and still being young enough to party. It's a huge step in life. I have friends w babies and husbands/wives now. And in your twenties your expected to be somewhat settled. What's bothering me today about all this is there's so many people who don't use this stage to better themselves. I want to get past being in my 20s cause I'm hoping I'll hear less and less about the people my age dying of drugs or getting themselves in hard situations. I don't know why I think once I hit 30 I'll hear less about it. But as much as I love advancing in my career, living on my own, and "adulting" I really hate logging on to Facebook and hearing about someone my age dead or seeing people not move forward in life. Friend or not. It will always bother me.
So far you’ve survived 100% of your worst days. You’re doing great.
