Theory/idea/concept: Riverdale’s next musical will be Heathers
Think about it, it’s easier because, as Carrie, it’s set in a high school, and it has the murderous/rebellious, kind of sociopathic teen drama Riverdale evoques
And the cast, I mean:
Veronica Sawyer: Josie or Veronica L. (I believe Camila Mendes can pull off Veronica S.’ smart, sarcastic commentary, and Veronica S.’ name was actually a reference to the Archie comics. But while writing this I started to think about Josie, and how much of a great Veronica she would make, I think the Riverdale writers could start some drama out of this, besides, my girl Josie deserves a leading role).
Jason “J.D.” Dean: Chuck (Now, now, Jughead would be perfect for the role, but we all know Cole doesn’t want to sing, and Chuck has played the bad boy before with Veronica, too. Besides, he and Josie have amazing chemistry).
Heather Chandler: Cheryl (She has the same mythic bitch persona H. Chandler has. Heathers is all about the privilege these girls have, precisely for being white, rich, skinny and conventionally pretty, Cheryl has all of these, plus the depth of Heather Chandler, the only thing kinda bothering me is the fact that H. Chandler is a blonde, but then again, her color is red).
Heather Duke: Veronica L. (I think it would be interesting to see the dynamic between Cheryl and Veronica L. as they develop these characters).
Heather McNamara: Betty (I have literally nothing to say about this apart from the fact that they’re both blonde, Betty would be great as Betty Finn, but she’s not in the musical).
Martha Dunnstock: Ethel Muggs (This could go in two ways, since Josie and Ethel joined forces against Veronica L., the role as best friends could solidify their bond. If Veronica L. plays Veronica S. though, this could lead to more drama).
Ram Sweeney: Archie.
Kurt Kelly: Reggie (Do I really have to explain myself with these two).
With Kevin as a director and Fangs as his assistant, yet again, let’s hope nothing goes wrong, although to be honest, this is Riverdale, so something will probably go wrong.
I chose the cast based on personality and looks, I also chose all of them based on the people who were cast in Carrie: The Musical, for I don’t know if, for example, Sweet Pea can sing. I chose Veronica L. as Heather Duke if Josie lands the role as Veronica S., I know I said Heathers was about privilege, Veronica isn’t white, but she is privileged, I’m not trying to pull a Heathers reboot.

Since I was right about this before, let’s see if I get it right again.
They’re obviously opening up with Beautiful. Candy Store will be a masterpiece, I can’t wait to see Cheryl, Betty and Veronica dancing to this. I’m not sure if they’ll do Fight For Me or Freeze Your Brain, but definitely not both (probs Freeze Your Brain to have Sweet Pea singing something). Big Fun is a given, as well as Dead Girl Walking. I don’t think they’ll do The Me Inside of Me, Our Love Is God nor Blue. I do think they’ll do Seventeen and Lifeboat. Since apparently they’re replacing Martha with Betty Finn I’m not certain about Kindergarten Boyfriend. I do hope they’ll do Yo Girl. The reprise of Dead Girl Walking will be a bonus scene and they’ll end with I Am Damaged.
AS IT TURNS OUT, I was mostly right. They are doing Beautiful and Candy Store. They didn’t do both Fight For Me and Freeze Your Brain, they’ll do Fight For Me. Big Fun and Dead Girl Walking were a given I nailed, though I was wrong about Our Love Is God and TOLD YOU they were doing Seventeen and Lifeboat.
