niko chuckled gently as he rubbed his neck, a little habit of his, offering rocco a smile as it was obvious that he was impressed with what he did. “yeah, i love it.” he commented in between rocco’s sentences, “with a heated wetsuit, and it’s not too bad.. getting out is the worst part to be honest.” niko laughed gently, following rocco before sitting down on one of the chairs, waiting for the vet to have time for their little alley cat. “it’s colder here though, was never this bad back home i’ve got to say.”hey, still, it’s pretty nice of you. some people would not even give him the time of day.”
“shit...” rocco couldn’t help but be enthralled with niko’s stories of surfing. he was just a loser kid from ohio, he knew nothing about the sport. but it always seemed so cool to him, and here he was with an actual surfer who did this kind of professionally. “i wanna see you surf, at that competition thingy. you have to tell me when it is.” he shrugged and stuck his hand into the box, petting punua’s dirty fur again. “how long have you been living in new york?” he asked, looking up hesitantly at the other man. if this was truly his first friend in new york, he wanted to get to know him.
