To me, there is so much significance in the fact that Yang had to be the one to say the words first. People have constantly left her - Raven, Summer (though, of course, Yang doesn’t exactly resent Summer in the way she did with Raven because it’s a different situation, however, it still affected Yang heavily that she was gone), Ruby when she left with Jaune, Ren and Nora, and finally, Blake herself. All of these things have caused Yang to believe that for her to be worthy, she has to prove that she’s strong. She has to prove that she’s the personification of strength, and that vulnerability will only hurt her in the end. But, here, in the Ever After and at the crossroads, everything culminates to this moment where Yang is the one that must say the words first that could change everything for her and Blake going forward. And she’s terrified, because what if she says them, and everything goes wrong? What if she says them, and she’s truly not worthy of being with Blake, or being the person that she needs or wants? But, she finally takes the leap, she falls off the cliff and allows herself to be the one to be caught, to be held, and Blake is immediately there to do that, saying, “I love you too” mere milliseconds afterwards. Blake has proven she’s staying and never leaving again, and that she’ll always be there to catch Yang. Yang just had to be ready enough to let herself fall, and she finally was here today. Their connection and their bond is so special to me, and the buildup to this moment has been phenomenal.

I just think there’s something very powerful about Weiss, the one who started off standoffish and cold with no friends, believing she’s the last one standing of her found family and picking up Gambol Shroud to keep fighting for both what she still has and to avenge Yang, Ruby, and Blake. Cinder said it’s classic of a Schnee to let all her friends die before her- but Weiss proved she’ll keep fighting for them even after she believes they’re gone.
