How Important are Customer Reviews?

When I was working in a pharma company, I got a HP laptop and a HP bag. Both the items, I liked very much. While leaving the organization, both items I have submitted to IT for no-dues.

Since, I already had a Lenovo laptop and decided not to buy another one, instead thought to buy a laptop bag. I visited HP word shop and Croma store at Indirapuram, but I could not find that bag. While it was available online in R-Digital store. I ordered it and received it after few days. To my disappointment, it was a different kind of bag. I took photo and contacted to R-Digital customer care for wrong delivery. They said “sorry for the inconvenience and promised to replace it. After few days they picked the bag and delivered a replaced one. When I opened it, I find, it was the same kind of bag, they send me again. I got fully frustrated and wrote to customer care for the concerns as a rebuke and mentioned, I will never buy anything from R-Digital. And wrote as “you guys are showing something and delivering something else, which is fully cheating. Online stores, Amazon and Flipkart are bit honest in this regard, they deliver the item, what they actually show in their website”. Same thing I wrote in their provided Review link, but there was catch here. They are not genuine in their reviews. They never posted my review. Looks they post only those reviews which are 4 star or above rating. They have total 12 reviews, and have rating 4.8/5. By looking anyone can go for that.

What I feel customers reviews are always fare and genuine. It may look weird to you and seems they are taking you down despite all your best efforts. Take reviews positively with two reasons, number 1 is customer will feel satisfied at least their voice is heard and number 2 is, that will give you a chance to improve your product quality and services with satisfaction. To attract customers, showing rosy picture does not impactful, while how genuine and transparent are you and your organization? That’s important. When I will have my own company, I will take these reviews from my customers as well as from my employees to take the company in correct direction and grow fast. I will archive all the obtained reviews in my Review Bank and will evaluate on monthly basis to see how much improvement has been done so far.

Chicken Biryani for stray dogs

When I was doing morning walk in our society, I used to see one e-rickshaw at tower block-C and a person is filling big containers of cooked rice. After watching several days, out of curiosity, I went near to him and asked what he is doing with this cooked rice. He said, it is chicken biryani for stray dogs. I feel amazed with his words. Then he went on telling “my owner, brings unused chicken materials like stomach, intestine, lever etc. from chicken shops at the rate of 70 rupees/Kg, after washing it thoroughly, she cook in big pots to make chicken biryani with the help of workers. And then, we fill it in these containers and go around nearby area to feed stray dogs. Dogs know us very well and they wait for us by siting on designate place until we reach. We are doing this from last 4 years and it gives us a lot of satisfaction, that we feed to those, to whom no one cares”.

I was speechless with his story and it gave me a motivation to help others selflessly without Ehsan/getting it back and feel that is real meaning of a human life.

Bought a Revolving Chair from Nilkamal

In mid of November 2022, I took my wife for shopping at Chandni Chowk shop in Indirapuram. After getting down, she went inside shop and I was looking for parking space. Unfortunately, I could not find the space to park my car, then I thought to go to explore near by furniture shops to buy a revolving office sitting chair. While roaming, I find a Nilkamal showroom. I went inside of the showroom and I spoke with one of the salesman for my requirement. He took me in basement, where they have a collection of several kinds of chairs. Salesman had shown one of the chair and explained its features. After evaluations of  features and comfortability, I like that chair. I asked for the price, Salesman said “ it is 12300 rupees. I asked him for the discount.  Salesman said “it is not available right, but it was there during Deepawali festival”. I said to him, “chair is looking good, but I feel price is more. I am okay to buy in the range of 7-8 thousand”. He said “sorry not possible”, and when I came back to home, I just thought to look online price of that chair. To my surprise, price was around 10900 rupees on Nilkamal online store, and after entering discount coupon code it was further down with 10% and final price was 9711. I explored some more online stores, like Amazon and Flipkart, but didn't find better price. And then finally I have bought it from online from Nilkamal. After a week they delivered at my home and assembled next day. Overall experience was good. By this way I saved >2500 rupees. I experienced, when things look costly to you and you really want to buy it for the current requirements, better to explore other shops and online store for pricing. You can save some money by applying your little intellectuals. I also realized and change my perception that a salesman are not working to make you fool, they are actually helping buyers to get what they are actually looking for.
