Strait of Malacca - It is so humid here that Wind Change seems to be surrounded by fog constantly. An eerie and yet beautiful scene at the same time.
Nightwatches are challenging: The sight is poor, the shipping lane is unbelievably busy and the fringes are lined with poorly lit fishing boats and unmarked nets.
There are seemingly no other yachts out here, and the fishing boats often come very close or follow us for periods of time out of curiosity.
If you have never sailed the strait of malacca I will say this: The feeling in these waters is unlike anywhere else. There are a million boats, from small fishing boats to containers and yet you always feel completely on your own. Engulfed in humid fog, maneuvering across these shallow, yellow colored waters.
So go see them!
