She inspected the sheets, tapping a claw against her chin.
“I am not familiar with the eye, no. But that hourglass…” Damia took the paper from him, tilting her head as she looked at the symbol, “Yes, I recall a group with this one. A small trading company off the shores of Martyne, excellent supplier of artifacts and foreign magic.”
The gorgon looked at him and said flatly, “Now tell me, why would someone like you come to someone like me with this? After all, you are asking me to weigh my best supply of extraplanar artifacts for a snake-man in dire need of a haircut.”
She began to circle him slowly, taking the other page and rolling them up together for later use. “What could you provide me that is better than a virtually endless amount of research? This…’hedron’ is a wonderful start, yes, but hardly enough compared to whom you wish destroyed.”
He gulped, scenting the air several times to keep a bearing on where Damia was.
“I...I don’t necessarily want them gone. I just don’t want them taking certain things. One of their interests was an artifact from my home, called the Junkyo Bell. Malveran wants it and it...it’s dangerous. It hurts people. Something like that...shouldn’t be traveling the planes.”
“I can’t guarantee what the others- The ones really fighting them want. They seem to have some kind of grudge going on...But if they end up destroying this company then maybe...I could always gather things for you. If there is something you want in specific?”
He turned his head in her direction, now very much aware of his hair swaying when he moved.

Damia said nothing and instead simply gestured. The rock in front of Sai rose to form a pedestal, which knocked the hedron from his hands and brought it to her silently. She held the stone within her claws, studying its detail.
“Fascinating. You have done well, snake. A specimen like this will provide many months of study.” She looked back at him and rolled her eyes, “You needn’t squint like the very sun is shining at you. Face me, and tell me what it is you wish to know.”
Sai relaxed the tension in his face, but kept his eyes closed. He took a loud breath, and thought of where best to begin.
“I...ran afoul of an interplanar trade organization in my travels. The nerve center of it is on a world called Mercadia, and goes by the name Infinitum. And from what I can tell, they...they have nameless cells on other worlds.”
“The man in charge, Malveran, he is a planeswalker too. And he’s using this...company to gather powerful artifacts from other worlds. I don’t know why. But it can’t be good with the lengths he’s going to.”
“They locked me up. They thought I was part of this other group of planeswalkers who oppose them. That group actually saved me but Malveran got away, and-” He shook his head.
“I’m...I’m trying to stop them in any way I can and...” He sighed. “It’s a long shot, I know. But you’re involved in the black markets here, right?” He dug around in his bag again, this time producing two sheets of paper. On one, there was a symbol resembling an hourglass, and on the other, an eye.
“They use these. Have you ever seen either of these?”

Damia sent away the small construct that had been relaying her the results of some experiments when the Orochi padded into her lair. She raised an eyebrow at the makeshift blindfold, and in turn, the long hair that flowed down his shoulders. That would never cease to confuse her.
“Ah, I remember you, yes. The snake-man I sent to fetch me a relic from Zendikar. I trust you’ve brought something substantial if you wish to trade information.”
Her expression soured. Closing one eye, she shot a small green bolt at the blindfold, tattering the cloth until it fell from his face in shreds.
“So, then. Speak.”
The sudden removal of his blindfold took Sai aback, and he stumbled and sputtered.
Regaining what composure he could after a moment, he squeezed his eyes shut tighter. “I-I have the hedron. A smaller one, anyway. Some of them were far too large for me to carry back here. That plane...it...it was dangerous.”
Sai fished around in the back at his side, producing an octahedral stone object. About 7 inches tall, each side was adorned with intricate carvings glowing a soft blue. He held it outstretched, but stayed in place. He scented the air again, to remind himself that the Sage had not moved.
“Should I...approach? Or let you take it or...” He swallowed, and tried to sound more sure of himself. “This is your domain, I will not move further unless you allow it.”

Sai stood outside of the cave, and exhaled heavily. He wasn’t too fond of the idea of going back inside, but he would. If only for the sake of information.
Not long after parting ways with the planeswalkers he had met on Mercadia, Sai had returned home to Jukai Forest on Kamigawa. He didn’t give specifics to anyone, least of all Sumi or Shuichi. He didn’t want them to worry. Instead, the orochi merely told them that he had gotten caught up with something, instead of left to rot in a jail cell for a week.
His knowledge of the interplanar trade organization wasn’t something he could just forget now. He wanted to make sure it wasn’t spreading too quickly. Anything he could do to slow Malveran’s progress he thought would be helpful. Even if he really didn’t know what he was doing.
Infinitum existed on Mercadia. He was fairly sure it was already on Kamigawa, as much as it sickened him. There were only a few other planes Sai knew of. Ravnica was far too crowded for him to search on his own. He knew little of Theros or anyone there outside of the forests. Innistrad...he didn’t want to go back to Innistrad.
That left Shandalar.
Taking another deep breath, Sai removed the strip of cloth that tied his hair back. He fashioned it into a simple blindfold, and stepped into the cave. He scented the air frequently, using its clues to guide him. He shivered when he picked up the resident’s strange scent. At least he knew where she was.
Stepping into the main chamber, Sai cleared his throat so that the woman on the throne would notice him. He bowed deeply.
“G-greetings, Sage of Stone. I have some questions for you. If...you will allow it.”
Ascendant
Sai sat with his legs crossed, and breathed deeply. He scented the air in his home, taking in the newly lit incense. He surveyed the objects set out in front of him. Various herbs, sakura tea, a shard from an orochi egg...
He closed his eyes, and focused. The orochi called on what he had learned in the past about communicating with spirits. He did everything he could to reach an inner calm, and focus on the spirit he wished to speak with. Sai opened his eyes again, and saw that the objects set in front of him had taken on a soft, green glow.
The scent of the burning incense was starting to overpower his senses. The smell blurred his perception and the haze made him slowly close his eyes again. The energy emanating from the objects spread over him. He felt a warm sensation. His breath and pulse slowed.
Though his eyes were shut, he could see a vast expanse of forest, though it was not Jukai. Strange creatures moved throughout the trees, surrounded by ghostly floating objects. The trees themselves seemed to shift with the flow of the spirit’s movements.
Sai put aside the other distracting kami, and set his sights on the spirit he was trying to commune with. He had a few questions about his life as of late, and he found that no one had been able to help him in the way that he wanted.
The spirit had no form at first, and was merely an entity of green light. The more Sai concentrated on the formless spirit, the more it reshaped. Soon it appeared as a translucent, stooped figure holding two staves. The figure spoke, in a voice that Sai had not heard in many years.
“Hello there, hatchling. What can I do for you?”
"Um...hello?"
A chuckle rang out throughout the cave.
“So, you have returned, Orochi? I knew it would only be a matter of time before you returned to me, yes. What do you seek, fanged one?”
“Information such as this is learned through experience. I am sure you will come out the wiser for it. However, should you journey to a plane called Zendikar, do bring me back a piece of a hedron. You would be greatly rewarded for such valuable materials, yes. I am curious to see the properties of stone that can imprison such great beasts as the Eldrazi.”
Damia thought for a moment, “And one more thing, snake. Keep your eyes open, arms ready, and your tongue to the air. Trouble is brewing for you, I can sense it. Where you go, I shall not follow.”
“I do like rewards,” said Sai quietly. “Zendikar, you said? And a hedron...Okay. I can probably manage that if you really want one.”
At Damia’s warning, he scented the air in a nervous habit. “I’d hoped I was wrong about that. But if you feel it too...” He shifted in place. “Maybe I shouldn’t stay on Shandalar too much longer.”
"Um...hello?"
A chuckle rang out throughout the cave.
“So, you have returned, Orochi? I knew it would only be a matter of time before you returned to me, yes. What do you seek, fanged one?”
damia-sage-of-stone:
“Hah, naive orochi. Lesh is but half an hour’s to here, of that I am sure you know. There are two kinds of merchants in my city. Those like I, who deal in information, and those who deal in material goods. There are some who maintain a facade of the other, no doubt those are following you now, yes. You are hardly subtle upon Shandalar.”
Damia sat back against her throne, “However, I make it my business to not directly interfere with those less…hospitable than I. I am sure a capable being such as yourself can handle but a few spies, no?”
Sai tried to display a modicum of confidence. “I can take care of myself,” he nearly stammered out. “But I’m not wrong to assume that I might be followed then...okay...”
He fidgeted awkwardly for a moment. “Are you sure that you don’t want anything from me in return?”
"Um...hello?"
A chuckle rang out throughout the cave.
“So, you have returned, Orochi? I knew it would only be a matter of time before you returned to me, yes. What do you seek, fanged one?”
Her smile waned, “As you are not from here, I give this information to you freely. Stay away from my kind unless I direct you to one, stay far from Martyne, and above all, do not interact with those aligned with Xathrid.”
Two of Sai’s hands waved. “Oh, no. Not uh, not others like you. I’ve never met anyone else like you, but I’ll keep that in mind. No Martyne, no Xathrid.”
“But I was in a city called Lesh. I stopped in a store near the market, and...I don’t know, the people there treated me very strangely. I think...I think I might be being followed now. Am I crazy or are the merchants there more than they seem?”
"Um...hello?"
A chuckle rang out throughout the cave.
“So, you have returned, Orochi? I knew it would only be a matter of time before you returned to me, yes. What do you seek, fanged one?”
Sai gulped and ducked further inside, until he was in Damia’s chamber. He bowed deeply, but kept his eyes trained on the floor.
“I uhm, I have a few questions for you, Shokushu-san. Erm, if-if that’s okay…”
She raised an eyebrow, “You had better not be insulting me, orochi. Ask your query and be on your way, I’ve no time for nervous chitchat, no.”
“Oh, no, I meant no insult, I’m sorry...”
The orochi took a moment to calm himself. He exhaled deeply, and rolled his neck. “You are well-versed in the business of this plane, right? Are there some circles that are...a bit shady? I may be in trouble if there is...”
"Um...hello?"

Seduce prompt: Peeking in before daring any farther, Alessa slipped her way through the smallest crack she could manage and soundlessly closed the door behind her. Crossing the room on nearly silent footsteps, she sat next to the reclining pyromancer and brushed her hair over her shoulder. She smiled, trailing a finger along the other woman's lips before abandoning them in favor of the curve of her neck. "Long day?" Not needing an answer, she gently kissed knotted muscle. "Sh, I'm here. Relax."

“A pack animal? Hm…”
After a moment of thought, Xern spoke, “I have a final question, great spirit. Can Serow be tamed as intelligent companions?”
The remaining heads disappeared into the light trails behind the serow head. The shinen lazily moved closer to Xern. It spoke again, this time a longer sentence, but in the same old speech.
Sai translated. “Serow are intelligent enough, but it may be difficult to separate one from the herd.” Sai added his own take. “If you could befriend one, I bet you could with food.” The shinen made an odd laughing noise and voiced an agreement.
Sai looked at Xern. “Are you going to have one to summon?”
