“Oh it’s worked for me. At least when I was exploring the whole Polyamory thing. Now, not so much though.”
“What’s changed if you don’t mind me askin?”
hippolytajourney :
“oh have you?”
she smirks at the other.
Sam chuckled. “Yes as a matter of fact I have. Have you? But more importantly, who was the lucky guy who gave you a bad opinion on guys, darlin?”
tessa--chambers :
“I mean, you already used it.” She wasn’t going to back down until she got an answer. “So… definitely need somethin’ here. You can’t leave me hanging.”
“True, but I don’t have to answer you. Unless you give me a very good reason.”
livxwhite :
“Awful big shoes to fill don’t you think?” she asked with raised eyebrows, but still let him bring the boxes up to the counter. His offer was surprising, but then again, everyone else was either late or too busy flirting to actually work. “Well…if you insist, I won’t argue with some extra hands.”
“Maybe so but I know I’m the man for the job.” He grinned proudly. “Oh I more than insist darlin. An extra set of hands are way better than one.”
tessa--chambers :
Tessa tried her best not to laugh out loud when the younger men stepped in to side with her but couldn’t hold back. “Cutsies? Seriously?” Her attention was now focused on him. “The fuck, man. You’re damn right this isn’t elementary school so why the hell are you using a word like cutsies?”
“When I have a good reason for using the word cutsies, I’ll let you know.” He chuckled, glad he received a laugh from the girl.
helenawilsxn :
“Two’s fun, more’s a party. It’s why I never really stuck to dating one person at a time.”
“I’m all bout the party darlin. And I agree, relationships have never worked in my favor.”
livxwhite :
“Really? You’ve yet to prove that,” Liv smirked, rolling her eyes as she slid the box he set down over and started to unload it. “There’s two more back there, since you want to make yourself useful.”
“Well, guess I have to be the one to prove you wrong.” Sam winked and grinned before making his way to the back for the last two boxes. “If you need help unloading them, I would be much obliged.”
alexander-carraway :
Alexander listened the voice and turned to see the man who was talking. New Orleans was so welcoming all the time, different to New York. He could say he missed that kindness. He made a step a side offering his spot. “This park is incredible, and is close to my house. Is excellent for begin the day.”
“I feel that. Nothing beats the thrill of an early morning run.” Sam took a drink from the fountain, than looked back up to the man in front of him. “I’m Sam, Sam Beaumont.”
dreamwxlkers :
A laugh came free at that, “No, actually. More like a candle incense. I’m terribly absent-minded sometimes… Luckily, the fire department in New Orleans is stellar.” She smiled softly, looking around, “It’s a home, which is all I can ask for, really.”
Sam chuckled. “Candles were my next guess.” He nodded agreeing. “Hey a roof over our heads is all we can ask for. No matter what kinda roof that may be.”
milasramirez :
“Fair enough, though there’s this where you like borrow other people’s dogs for a short time. So you could probably find out if you were or not, that or just cuddle one for a couple hours.”
“Huh...I never thought about that. Like a test run. It’s a good idea, just need to find a dog or two for the job.”
“Oh, hell no. No, no, no. Nice try but uh uh, ain’t goin’ to happen.” Tessa said, a deceiving grin toying at the corner of her mouth. “You’re not special.” She said, her arm extending with refusal to let the other pass. “You wait in line just like the rest of us.”
Sam watched the scene unfold. He had a feeling Tessa could handle herself, but he felt the need to at least make a comment. “Yeah man, this ain’t elementary school. Cutsies aren’t gonna cut it here.”
“no i totally get it. he’s dangerous, he’s withholding, and you find that irretrievably irresistible.”
rarely do you ever find lyta with a mouthful of sarcasm. she’s always found distaste to it, but just for this one time, the blonde found it too hard to have given up the opportunity. those blue orbs flicker to her companion.
“but guys like that? they never call.”
“I would kindly disagree. Not all of us charmers are flakes who never call.” Sam jumped in, feeling like he needed to defend his own kind.
bex-b :
“Well, I have been around here for three years, so it’s only fair that I’ve started keeping tabs on all of my coworkers,” Bex laughed softly, shaking her head. She was observant, but didn’t like to assume other’s personalities; it only made her look like an ass when it turned out to be wrong. “I’ll have two shots of tequila then, please and thank you.”
“Fair is fair darlin.” He smirked, already working on Bex’s order. “I always appreciate a girl with some manners.” Sam winked, setting the shots in front of her.
delanceylilavois :
“Kind of.” She bit at her lip, an agitated finger looping strand after strand of hair round and round. Eventually it would get caught in a terrible knot she wouldn’t be able to untangle. “If you slept with a girl, would you call her back the next day?”
“It depends on the situation. I mean if we both agreed it was a one time deal the night before, no. But if there was somethin more there, then I might.” He said nonchalantly, before catching her eye. “You tryin to figure out why this guy didn’t call you back?’
dreamwxlkers :
“Course I will. Thanks for offerin darlin.” “Of course,” She was quick to respond, a smile flushing out all the previous wariness. “Oh, thank you. It’s nearly burnt itself to the ground a few times now, but doesn’t look it, which is a good thing, I suppose.”
“Let me guess, a cookin incident or two?” The bartender joked, still taking a look around the room. “I’d say it’s a mighty good thing. I wouldn’t have known expect for you just tellin me.”
ears perk at the commotion– twelve hours and not one call, perhaps this’d be the only one he’d be getting this shift. he strides out of the fire station’s garage, leaving an audible trail of boots against concrete as he goes to meet that racket.
“hey ! you need any help?”
“This is mighty embarrassin but this car her broke down. And I just thought I fixed it all up too. Ya mind giving me a hand here?”
Carrying out two cases of alcohol from storage, Liv tried to balance the heavy liquor as she made her way back up to the bar, hesitating before she set the cases down on the counter. “Jeez, you’d think with all the men we have in here someone would offer to help,” she rolled her eyes, blowing out a breath as she started to unload the boxes. “Then again, men are really only good for sperm donors,” she teased lightly, glancing over at the person across the bar before she moved to pour them another drink.
Sam quickly whipped his head around and quirked his head to the side. “Hey hey hey now, I take offense to that darlin. We’re good for more than just makin babies.” He grabbed another box and set it down before unloading it, very used to the routine after all these years as a bartender.
