It's Been Almost 5 Years

I haven't touched this account since I was engaged about 5 years ago. So many things have changed since then. I've moved a lot, I've grown as a person, suffered many trials and tribulations, lost interest over many obsessions, etc. I've made new friends and lost plenty over the years. In short: “If you are refusing to treat me, I want you to record that in my medical files.  Furthermore, I want access to my medical files immediately following this appointment so that I can make copies for my own records.”

Sadly it is not uncommon to be denied appropriate medical care by your provider if you are: not-white, not-skinny, not cis, not straight, not male and/or dealing with a chronic illness or mental health condition (I myself had a health condition that took a trip to the ER to be diagnosed because my doctor at the time kept wrongly blaming it on my anxiety disorder).  Ideally you should find a new doctor who will treat you better, but for a variety of reasons this may not always be possible.
