hi guys! it's finals month and that means i'm super cramped with studying/chain-caffeinating/crying in the fetal position these days, but i'm taking a while off to answer these asks i've gotten! so with no further ado, starting from the top:
-anon #2: hi there! ah, personally, my two favorite media are pencils (any pencil is fine, really, i'm not picky) and ink/water/paintbrushes. i don't have a lot of money to spend on fancy art supplies, so really i just draw with whatever i have at hand! sometimes i use ballpoint pens, or charcoal, or crayons, or brush-pens... just whatever i have available! i'm not great at painting, but i like water colors and gouache. i really like the softness traditional media gives my drawings... i like working with my hands, and when i use traditional media it feels almost like i'm sculpting the drawing rather than, uh, drawing it, if that makes sense? i used to have a tablet years and years ago, but it stopped working in 2010 and i really can't afford a new one... so now i do all my digital colors/touch ups with the mousepad on my laptop! haha. anyway, i say stick to what you like! use only pencils if you prefer that! (you can always alter the lines in photoshop for example, if the color/contrast is not to your liking.) however, it can be a good thing to mix it up every now and again just to develop new skills and to challenge yourself! that's how i discovered my love for painting with ink/water. (also, yeah, definitely! i can't say for certain just how soon, though, as my current focus is on surviving my finals! but i'm glad you like my stuff!)
