fic wheree engie and scout are doing a sadomasochist relationship thing (if you ask scout they're in a loving committed relationship and if you ask engie it's just a bit of stress relief with his annoying coworker who he hates) and what scout loves more than anything else in the world is the feeling of a cigarette burn. and engie ain't much of a smoker but he sure loves seeing scout running soon as he lights one up, and he doesn't even notice how much he's doing it until one day he sees all the cartons piled up in his workshop trash can, and somehow still refuses to acknowledge to himself how fixated he's become on scout. and though it starts off pretty simple with the usual stuff (whips and flogs etc) engie, who is incapable of expressing what is probably just genuine love in a romantic way, becomes so obsessed with leaving his mark on scout--which is sometimes a little difficult, when you have a medi-gun that heals all wounds and respawn which fixes the rest of the scars.
though--washiing his back in the shower, he feels a little pockmark on his back right where spy's knife would sink in every single time and looks in the mirror and, sure enough, respawn isn't perfect--it fixes things to the almost imperceptible, but in that odd way it remembers it also picks up on where there's been a wound too many times to count and recreates that, too. and engie starts to become obsessed with putting his light out on that same spot--the back of scout's neck, to match his own--every time, cheering every time he respawns and the scar that gets a little wider. does some reprogramming and figures out he can get respawn to accept things like piercings, too--and everybody makes fun of scout when he suddenly shows up with earrings, but nobody would guess the real answer. and once engie is set down this line of thought he just keeps going and keeps going, and scout won't deny any of it because he loves the pain as much as he loves engie (a lot)--and so on as far as that goes until scout is so body-modded out with robo organs etc until he's basically unrecognizable and it's like aa reverse frankenstein thing and there's a couple different metaphors in there probably I don't know do any of you see my vision
rahhhh I can't stop thinking about fic where medic wants to fuck engie soooooo bad and engie hates the fact that he's a mammal that has sexual urges and medic tempts him into it and engie just bends him over his workbench and goes to town and they do friends with benefits and maybe they catch feelings but are both very particular men who refuse to believe they could have romantic feelings for their stupid coworker who they hate and everybody can't help but notice how little sleep they're getting because they're just having hate sex fucking constantly about it at 3 am and ughhhhghhhh
He does, with an unbelievably stupid grin on his face, so Pauling glares at him until he gets the point and pipes down a little. "What?"
"You can never tell anybody this happened, ever."
"I won't, I won't."
She keeps eye contact with him as she scrambles out of the bed, pulling her old clothes off of the shitty motel carpet, wincing at the amount of plainly visible stains there are in the shag. "No, Scout, I'm serious. I will actually kill you. Don't tell Sniper, don't tell Demo, especially don't tell Engie, don't tell your mom, don't tell your friends, nobody. This did not happen."
"I don't get why this is such a big deal. We're both hot people, hot people have awesome sex, it happens--"
"Scout." She finally finds her pistol in its holster buried under the limp fabric puddle of her skirt and pulls it out, gesturing loosely with it and hoping that gets the point across well enough. "I'm not fucking kidding."
Scout laughs at that, which seems like the wrong reaction, until she realizes he's looking up at the mirror above the bed and she canât believe it, why did she just do it with Scout in a shitty fucking motel room with a mirror above the bed?Â
"Yeah, Miss Pauling. I won't tell anybody. Jeez."
â
Scout gives up and taps him on the shoulder. "Snipes, brother. You'll never guess what happened last night."
"I probably won't," Sniper mumbles. He's got his nose shoved in the paper. There's a joke Scout can make here, about Sniperâs jars and tiny dogs pissing on newspaper, but that's not as important right now.
"Let's just say--she should probably change her name to Hit Pauling."
Wait for a second--cross his arms a little--Sniper just glares at him. Why was he expecting him to get that?
"Instead of Miss, y'know."
"What?"
"'Cause I--'cause I hit that last night."
That gets a little raise of the eyebrows, not exactly what he was hoping for. "You punched our boss?"
"Snipes I had awesome sex with Miss Pauling last night, are you stupid?"
"Just like that time you backflipped out of a moving car?"
"I keep telling you, that happened, and it was awesome, and I'm serious. We totally banged. All over the place. In a motel room with a mirror above the bed. Can you believe it?"
"Not particularly."
"Okay, can you eat my ass? Seriously? I'm not kidding."
something something engie hates his animalistic urges. hates that he doesn't work as well if he doesn't waste 8 hours a day (a full third of his time, ridiculous) sleeping. hates that he loses control when he's starving and there's food in front of him. hates more his sexual urges, hates how they lead to romantic entanglements, hates the distraction. vs medic who just wants engie to fuck him sooooooooooooo bad and knows engie wants to fuck him sooooooooooooo bad and is sooooooooooooo annoying about it. do you see my vision
âWeâre kissing,â Jane says, helpfully, bright and cheery if not a little disappointed theyâve stopped macking on each other for the time being. His lips are bright cherry red and spit is running down that sharp chin of his andâTavish should find it repulsive but he doesnât, god, he doesnât. âSweetly, like lovers. Why do you look so scared?â
âSheâll kill us, sheâll have our heads, sheâllââ
Jane leans forward and kisses him again, shorter this time, but no less enthusiastic, and he moves down to keep pecking him on the neck after that, undoing the buttons of Tavishâs shirt, and he canât do much but lay back with his eye wide, his hands suddenly unwilling to interfere in anything thatâs happening.
âDinnae ye feel bad about sleeping with the enemy?â
He tilts his head at that. âYouâre my friend.â
âIâm a RED, mate. Youâre a BLU.â
âBut we said it was okay to be friends. While youâre Tavish and Iâm Jane.â
Jane finishes unbuttoning Tavishâs shirt and starts peeling it off his sweaty skin like heâs taking the wax paper off a hunk of beef. He finally finds it in himself to sit up, pushing himself against the head of the bed and slapping Janeâs hands off of him. âWeâre about to shag on a hotel room mattress covered in fucking man-eating bedbugs, does this seem like bloody friendship to you?â
âSure,â a little impatiently.
Heâs got nothing, heâs really got nothing, and Janeâs about to pull his cock out of his pants and Tavish canât help but let a wheeze escape him. Desperately: âWeâre both so drunk.â
âI feel pretty sober.â
âYouâre drunk.â
âNo Iâmââ
âYouâre drunk.â
His cock basically springs out of his fucking undies as he says that, throbbing vein and all, gripped in his fist like a big ugly sausage andâJesus, he canât believe how long itâs been.
âOh god.â
He grunts as he rubs himself, this intense look in his eyes showing for just a moment before itâs gone. âWhy do you think Iâm drunk?â
âWell I meantânevermind.â Itâs fine. Itâs great, and Janeâs grabbing the lube from the bedside table andââJust fuck me,â is not the indignant wheeze he wanted to come out of his mouth next, but itâs too late now.
âOkay,â through a huge, sudden grin, and Tavish shuts his eye.
it's his most shameful secret (well, one of many), but demo definitely uses eyelander to get off. not necessarily the sword itself (much to eyelander's chagrin) but the spirit inside--he lets it into his body, lets it possess him, for no other reason than it's the closest thing he has to feeling someone else's hands on him.
it's very strange, when your body is and isn't yours at the same time. the sensation of something else in your head pulling at your nerves like puppet strings--you feel the muscles moving, in a weird roundabout way, but it feels different when it's not consciously you doing it. and it's unbelievably embarrassing to be sitting in a room that's silent save for your own breaths while you watch your own hand tug you off, but maybe that's part of the appeal, for both of them. Tavish would never say it out loud but of course Eyelander shares a head with him and gets plenty of inklings. and she tells him exactly what she thinks, just how disgusting he is, how pathetic and lonely a man has to be to fall to tactics like these, but maybe that's part of the appeal. as miserable as it ends every time (and it is, inevitably, miserable), Tavish keeps asking, and Eyelander keeps obliging him. it's no good at all but that's certainly never stopped Tavish before.
Scout shifts next to him, cracking open his eyes for the first time since they finished. âCan you do me a favor?â
âDepends,â Engineer mutters.
Then a pale wrist slithers up beside him, cold skin startling against his body. âPut that out on me.â
âWhat?â
âYour cig,â mumbled barely into his shoulder.
And, well, he'd be thrilled to oblige. He shifts enough he can look down and he's well pleased when he sees Scout's arms are still covered in raised welts from tonight's escapades with the crop, red braided indents where the rope cut into his skin.
There's something special in the way Scout hisses when it touches the edge of a fresh wound, the way his eyes roll into the back of his head in Engineer's peripheral vision. Something special enough that right away he files this away as an option to revisit later, and he almost changes his mind about being done for the night.
Almost. He's almost forty and he can't get it back up that fast, and Scout's had a long night, anyway. He usually ain't a fan of the post-coitus cuddle but he's tired enough that he feels content to stay here for the time being.
"Fuck that's good," Scout moans, half-broken. It's a nice sound.
He re-lights his cigarette, turning his head back up for the time being. Though five minutes later he'll sleepily pull Scout's wrist back to his chest and put another nice red circle under the first one just to hear that hiss again, tracing his thumb over the long, clean lines of today's work. Some damn fine technique, if he says so himself.
It's just such a waste that scars don't exist proper in this sort of environment. In a little while when Scout's got legs under him enough to get up they'll both stumble over to the Medi-gun prototype Engineer keeps in his workshop and he'll hit Scout with enough of the beam that his wounds close up beyond suspicion, and then the first time he gets headshot tomorrow, he'll wake up in respawn and all that hard work will just vanish into the ether.
But for now, he gets to enjoy it. It's a unique sort of power, not just holding the ability to hurt but the ability to change. Intricately marking his property like carving notches into a table. It's a satisfaction like nothing else.
They finally cross the line, and Sniper fucks her boss at a company Smissmas party.
Or: A basic demonstration of unprofessionalism

Read the full fic here under the cut!
Sniperâs distracted. She feels like itâs catching her more off-guard than it should; sheâs not used to the feeling, but her bottle of Guinness is vanishing faster than it should and she canât seem to keep her mind straight enough to figure out what exactly sheâs doing at the company Smissmas party she, on any other occasion, wouldâve left an hour ago.
Sheâs not a partygoer. Sheâs long known this about herself; sheâs the type to show up for an hour, get lightly buzzed and destroy everyone in the room at darts, and then leave before her face gets punched any more than it has to. But sheâs still here.
And the real problem is that she canât take her eyes off of Miss Pauling. Itâs that bloody dressâthat and a steady helping of alcohol are doing a lot of fucking work to dismantle thirty-something years of focus-building and professionalism. Itâs a dark purple velvet that clings to her, rippling fabric outlining every inch of her figure. Dark tights and a bun thatâs a little looser than usual and the same scuffed kitten-heels she hasnât taken off in two years.
Maybe itâs the fact that she doesnât get to see her all done-up very often. No disrespect, of course, Sniperâs a busy woman too who doesnât do half as much work as Miss Pauling and she understands how hard it is to find the energy to put it all on, but⊠you know. Makes it special.
Sniper is, unfortunately, realizing the implications of some less-than-professional thoughts over the past few weeks.
And sheâs so caught up in realizing implications, it takes her a little too long to realize that dress is coming right for herâway too long to make it believable when she turns away, coughs into her hand. (She crosses her legs real quick, just in case).
âHeyyy⊠Snipes.â Sheâs got a cocktail in her hand, one of the fancy-looking ones Spy possesses a talent for, and she sure bloody sounds like thatâs not her first one. âYâknow, fightâs over, you donât have to hide in the corner anymore. Heh.â
Miss Pauling one-hundred percent, bonafide, caught her staring like a teenage boy at the beach. For the sake of sanity she tries not to think about why Miss Pauling might suddenly want a lot to do with her after that. âNot a fan of parties,â is all she can think to mumble, lamely. Like a fucking professional. âWas probably gonna⊠finish this,â she gestures with the beer bottle in her hand, âand go.â
Thereâs a loud set of shouts across the room that drowns out whatever Miss Pauling was gonna say next. Something makes an obscenely loud smashing sound. Sniper doesnât look over.
Miss Pauling snaps her head towards the sound, barks a laugh, and then tries again, leaning in conspiratorially: âIf you leave, whoâs gonna keep me company?â
Sniper can feel her mouth dry up over the course of the next three seconds. âUm⊠oh. Yeah, er⊠alright.â
âIs it okay if I hide in the corner with you?â
â... âCourse,â she finally manages the breath to say, though itâs a bit of a fight. âNo problems here.â
She smiles, pulls over a chair from the empty poker table, and plunks down next to her. Christ, thereâs this perfect outline of her belly button and the place where her stomach kind of dips and curves in the dress andâanyway.
âYou look nice,â she says, and then she turns her head and pretends to cough into her arm again just for the sake of it.
âI never get to dress up, so⊠yâknow⊠figured I might as well. Smissmas and everything.â
âYeah, sure.â
âFunny story, actually, couple weeks ago I had to, like, poison this business executiveâs wifeâlong story, ransom stuff, had to spend three hours cutting letters out of a magazineâyou know how it is.â Sniper nods to this. âBut she was exactly my size, and Iâm not that good at shopping for clothes especially since itâs Smissmas and thereâd be traffic and everythingââ
âAnd you needed the dress more than she did.â
âRight, yeah, âcause when I found her body she was, like, super dead. But I feel like I cleaned off all the puke and everything pretty well, right?â
âLooks brand-new.â This is a fairly heavy exaggeration, but thatâs alright. She runs her fingers through her hair and wonders if maybe she shouldâve taken a shower before, or⊠something⊠but itâs probably fine. âFeel like I shoulda dressed up too.â
âI think you look good like this.â A brave hand pinches at her vest, knuckles grazing her tits. She wheezes. âYou wouldn't fit in a fancy dress, anyway. Itâd be like putting a tiara on a pitbull. No offense.â
She thinks Sniper looks good like this. âI know my strengths.â
Miss Pauling laughs, turns away for a bit to sip with her drink, fidgeting with her glass. Sheâs not⊠nervous, is she?
Sniper turns away too. Politely. But she only gets a couple seconds to sit before thereâs a yank on her shirt sleeve, and of course she turns back. âHave you tried one of these yet?â
âWot, Spyâs fancy cocktails?â
âOh my god, it looks so dumb when he makes it,â she giggles, âbut itâs so good, I swear.â
â... Not much of a sweet tooth.â
âTry it. Just try a little.â
âUmâŠâ Well, the glass is already going straight for her face, and what the hell. âAlright, fine, you win.â
Miss Pauling brings it to Sniperâs mouth, pushes down her bottom lip with the rim and lingers there. Her eyelinerâs unevenâreally uneven, actually, looks like she put it on in the dark on the way over. Sniper doesnât know how she didnât notice it until now⊠but youâd notice anything when youâre this close.
Itâs just not bloody professional.
She tips it. Sniper sips. It tastes fruity, and waxy where Paulingâs lipstick stains the glass. Too sweet for Sniper, but thatâs fine, not exactly the point, is it.
âItâs so good, right?â
And the moment before Sniper gets to respond to that the stem suddenly slips from Miss Paulingâs fingers; Sniper tries to catch it but all that does is turn it so that every ounce of liquid transfers from the basin directly onto her shirt, and then the whole thing shatters pathetically on the ground. âBloody hell.â
âOhâshitâsorry!â Miss Pauling claps two hands over her mouth as the entire room pauses to turn and look at them (of course, why wouldnât they), and then she quickly lurches to her feet, looking just short of mortified. âUmâIâll go find napkins, or⊠or somethingââ
Christ, it even smells way too sweet. âItâs fine.â
âNo, justâgimme a sec and Iâllââ
âItâs a three minute walk to my van, Iâll change, itâs fine.â Dammit, they were having a moment. Maybe thatâs why Miss Pauling looks so upset, or maybe thatâs wishful thinking. Who fucking knows. Sheâs a professional. âDonâtââ
âAt least lemme walk you there.â
âYeah sure,â is what comes out before it even has the time to pass through her brain, and sheâs suddenly thankful everyoneâs attention has turned back to whatever the blokes are doing on the other side of the room. âI mean⊠if you want to. But really donât worry about it, thisââ
âItâs fine. I want to.â
If that doesnât make her heart skip a beat.Â
âLetâs, uhâŠâ She looks around, then gestures to the back door by the kitchen, the one nobody ever takes because it doesnât lead anywhere. âGo out there, though. I know my way around the cameras.â
âWhat, we need to hide our escape?â
â... You know how quick rumors start,â she says, blushing. âDonât wanna⊠give anybody any ideas.â
âRight,â she says, like she believes it. She has a few ideas for why theyâd be covering their tracks, but none of them have entered the conversation yet, and she wonât get her hopes up.
They end up waiting for the conversation in the rest of the room to get intense enough to avoid prying eyes, and then they slip out of the back door together onto the awkward sidewalk that runs behind the building. Itâs cold outside, and bone-dry, and the landscape that stretches out in front of them is blue and purple from the light of the moon.
Great weather to huddle up together. Christ, Sniper doesnât know when she got to be so much of a sook.
They take a strange, winding path through the dirt, around the building. Miss Pauling seems to know it intuitivelyâshe has to wonder how often she skirts around the cameras here.
Miss Paulingâs shivering, and obviously trying to hide it. Sniper knows where good manners lie, so she takes off her nice patchy explorer jacket and tosses it around her shoulders before she has the time to argue.
Not so much good manners is the way she lets her hand linger on the back of her neck above the collar, under her hairâthen dropping down to the square of her shoulders, then the dip in her backâthe barest trace where the swell of her arse begins and then back to her own side, where her hand can rest politely and she can pretend nothing happened.
Of course itâs hard to ignore the way Miss Pauling only says âThank youâ once sheâs through with the little gesture, like sheâs saying that for more than the jacket. Bloody hell.
Itâs a fairly quiet walk the rest of the way. Too cold to talk⊠maybe too nervous. All Sniper can think about on the way is the desert of laundry covering the floor of her van, cans and bottles and discarded TV dinners she never bothered to throw away.Â
Sheâs not too used to having other people in her own space, not so keen on inviting people in normally, so it hasnât mattered much before. She half-considers making Miss Pauling wait outside when they approach but she knows she wonât, sheâs got mannersâand sheâs been thinking for a little while anyway about the kinds of things that closed doors invite, far away from prying eyes.
She feels like sheâs not the only one with an ulterior motive, here.
She still turns back before she opens the door, mumbling apologetically: âItâs a bit of a mess in here. Sorry. Didnât think Iâd have company.â
Miss Pauling shakes her head. âDonât worry about it. Guarantee you Iâve seen worse.â
Sheâs just being nice, but good enough. Sniper swings open the door and steps in, and it sets in a little how much worse it all looks now that someone elseâs eyes are on it.
Shouldâve had her wait outside. Too late now. âSorry. Itâs bad.â
She just offers a sympathetic smile back that Sniper has to look away from, and follows: âAw, itâs fine. Honestly, my room is so much worse. Youâd be shocked.â
âI mean⊠youâre so busy,â she mumbles. âI dunno how you do it.â
âHonestly, Iâm not sure either. But Iâm figuring it out. Thatâs what I do, is figure things out. It could be worse! Iâm not sure how, but it⊠definitely could.â
âYeah, heh.â Great one. She loosely gestures to her bed, the only clear place to sit in the room, shrinking. âYou can, er, sit down. Or stand⊠either way. We wonât be in here for long.â
She sits down. Fine enough. Sniper moves to the drawer beside her bed and picks a clean button-up out of it, nothing special.Â
Miss Pauling doesnât take her fucking eyes off her the whole time. Keeps staring as her hands move to unbutton her collarâSniper pauses after that, nervously swaying, and thatâs what seems to finally kick her back into realityâshe puts a hand over her eyes, turning her head. âOh, my god, sorry.â
âEr⊠itâs fine.â This comes out of Sniperâs mouth without her consentâwhat is she saying? âYou can⊠I donât care. Look if you want.â
Miss Pauling goes fucking scarlet at that, but hereâs the important part, she takes her hands off her eyes and looks back at Sniper, hesitantly, but she does. Of her own free volition. Just because she wants to. For some reason.
⊠So be it. Perfectly normal. Two professionals in a room and one of them has three quarters of a fancy fruity cocktail on her shirt so she has to take it off and the other one is staring all hunched forward like sheâs waiting for a show. Tale as old as time. Happens every day.
Sniper knows theyâve crossed into dangerous territory when she starts unbuttoning her shirt, watching Miss Pauling for her reaction. Sheâs not sure if she looks impressed, or turned on, or if thatâs maybe a bit of horror on her face when she makes it far enough from her neck to expose some chest into her belly. Her whole upper body looks like a minefield, sheâs accepted that by now. You could build a toddler out of her scar tissue.Â
She finally pulls her shirt off, and sheâd be insecure about the fact that sheâd decided to go no-bra today if it didnât look like Miss Pauling was thrilled to pieces with the state of things. And, you know, maybe she shouldâve gotten a shirt to replace this one before sheâd already taken the bloody thing off, but she knows why she didnât.
Sniper knows exactly where Miss Paulingâs gaze rests when she says, âYouâve been through a lot.â
âAssassinationâs⊠dangerous work,â she mumbles. Finding another shirt to put on is suddenly very far from her mind. âBeen all over.â
âI guess itâs gotta be. Where do you even get scars that look like that?â
She knows sheâs talking about the deep, gnarled line that crosses from her stomach downwards. The closest thing thatâs ever actually come to killing her.
â⊠A bit anticlimactic, usually,â she says, sheepishly. âThis big one, er⊠I ran into a barricade on my motorcycle. InâŠâ Where was it, she was after a gold trader or something, had to put a pause on things for months and lost a shit ton of contract money⊠âDubai.â
âMotorcycle?â
âI wasnât a very good driver.â
Miss Pauling bursts out laughing at that oneâwasnât necessarily supposed to be a joke but, you know, sheâll take it. âWait, câmere.â
Of course Sniper comes over there. And she sits down next to Miss Pauling, suddenly feeling so sweaty despite the chill in the cabin, when she tugs at her wrist.
Miss Pauling looks her up and downâso close now, itâs dark in the cabin but blue moonlight streams through the blinds behind them and Sniper is shirtless sitting half an inch away from her boss and this is normal, itâs normal, friendly and professional.
She barely grazes a finger over the little bumps that cross Sniperâs collarbone, never breaking eye contact. âWhat are these from?â
âNailgun,â Sniper says, instinctively, balling up her fists. âMark fancied himself one of those, er, DIY home improvers. Caught me off guard.â
She smiles, and her hand moves a little lower to two tiny dots, right above her left tit. âSnake bite?â
âQuick stay in Brazil didnât go my way, long story.â
âYouâll have to tell me sometime.â
Sniper jumps when she grazes across her nipple with an embarrassing little wheezeâMiss Pauling doesnât even react, maybe she was expecting it, maybe she knows what sheâs doing. She more firmly touches a long, jagged scar that crosses her side, curving into her back.
She doesnât have to ask. âCroc. I was⊠19.â For some reason, sheâs talking through gritted teeth, and she canât get herself to stop. âToo⊠too stupid to know when I saw a fight I wouldnât win.â
âMmm.â
She finally opens her eyes (doesnât know how long theyâve been squinched shut), looking down, and sheâs hard as fucking diamonds, bloody hell. Itâs setting in at the edges of her mind, that great bloody dumbness as all the blood in her brain goes somewhere else. She should be embarrassed but sheâs just hot, and her whole worldâs shrinking down to that hand barely crossing her hips, tracing the lines of old injuries.
She canât be the only one feeling like this. Thereâs something in the way Miss Paulingâs breath hitches when she follows a dark, gnarled line down to the border where Sniperâs pants start. The way her eyes wander.
Miss Pauling has got to know exactly what sheâs doing when fingers finally breach her waistband. Thereâs a bit of surprise on her face, probably when she realizes that sheâs not wearing anything under her cargo pants, but it settles quick enough into something like appreciation, excitement, lust, Sniper canât think of the right word. But she stops where she is, barely hovering above Sniperâs cockâlooks up, eyes wide, breathing so heavy Sniper feels it wisping across her arm. Itâs a request.Â
Sheâs all out of wordsâanything she tries to manage slides out on an incomprehensible stream of vowels, so instead she just thrills up into it, whining, and hopes that comes across well enough. And it absolutely seems to because all of a sudden thereâs a hand wrapped around her shaft and she has to stifle an embarrassing groan, squinching her eyes shut tight.
Suddenly thereâs another hand on her, roaming, greedily mashing at her tits and sheâs being pushed back, back, back, against the corner of the nook, and she feels dizzy. She doesnât know what to do, so she lets instinct take over and explores with her own hands anywhere she can reach; feeling down soft curves outlined in velvet, clutching at round thighs and the beautiful camber of her arseâwhimpering as their faces mash together, devolving into desperate, starving kisses, and that hand on her cock is so much, so much.
She pulls Miss Pauling up onto her knees and rucks up that lovely skirt until itâs a band around her waist and then she slots her palm between her legs and squeezes, swallowing her moan, holding her up as her legs twitch apart, inviting more. Sheâs so fucking hard she canât breathe. âMiss P.,â she manages. âFuck.â
âFlorence, for the love of god call me Florence,â just as breathless as she is. At some point she stopped touching her cock, sheâs not sure when that happened, but sheâs struggling with Sniperâs zipper and trying to pull down her tights with her other hand, still grinding into Sniperâs palm, gasping. Sniper lets herself be pushed against the corner, every centimeter of her space filled with her, blue wonder, and itâs intoxicating.Â
She finally gives up on the zipper and focuses her attention on struggling to take off her own clothes, but Sniper grabs her wrist and stops her, as much as it hurts to slow down for a sec. âDonât have a condom on me, love,â she wheezes.
âItâs fine, Iâm on the pill,â desperately, âjust pull out.â
âIâm not gonna take any chances.â She suddenly feels even more pathetic than usual, as Florenceâs face sets in thought. âIâm sorryââ
She cuts off into a whimper when Florence wraps around her neck and kisses her againâmoans a little deeper when she grinds her crotch against the tent in Sniperâs pants, panting.
Sniperâs hips cant up, as awkward as the angle isâFlorence follows, humping her, moaning hopelessly into each otherâs mouths. âFuck,â Sniper says. âKeep doing that, fuck.â
âMarce, oh my god, Marce,â and Sniperâs not too sure where she got her name but thatâs not the point right now, and the sound of it coming out of her mouth defies physics and finds a way to make her fucking harder.Â
Every time they mash together they adjust a little, refine their angle, work it out. They settle into an awkward rhythm of thrusts soon enough, pushing together and pulling apart in tandem, grunting into each otherâs shoulders, mattress squeaking with the effort. Sniperâs thighs are gonna be sore tomorrow.
She can feel it alreadyâthat upper limit being approached. Too fast, itâs been too fucking long since she shagged somebody and theyâve only been at it for a couple minutes. She barely twitches away but Florenceâs arms tighten around her neck hard enough to choke her, so thatâs not an option. When that doesnât work she tries to think about something elseâwind resistance, the spider in her sink, the way her gun clicks back together after she takes it apart. No dice, she canât fucking focusâsettles for just moaning: âIâmâfuckâIâm gonnaââ
She doesnât even make it through the sentence before that tension snaps and she whimpers uselessly into Florenceâs neck, gasping as she swears she comes the hardest she has in her entire life, wadding right into her pants. It leaves her dumb for a long moment, eyes rolling up in her head as the aftershocks ripple through her.
It doesnât take long for her to come down from it, though, mostly because Paulingâs still desperately humping against the softening mound in her pants, and the feeling of the rough fabric against her cock is so sharp and overwhelming she has to pull away. Well, shit. Thatâs embarrassing. âFuck,â she winces through her teeth, âsorry, Iâm sorry.â
Florence groans in frustration, something like tears forming in her eyes. âMarce, just a little longer, Marce, please.â
Fuck, fuck, fuck. Coming first, thatâs just unprofessional. She canât leave a bad impression the first time she finally worms her way into Miss Paulingâs pants.
She decides fast enough sheâll just have to make it up to her. âI have you, I have you,â she says, pushing her off and down and laying her across the bed, rubbing the soaking spot between her legs to keep her busy (these tights are ruinedâmaybe she could convince her to let her keep them), leaning over her and mashing their faces together as she teases her fingers under the line of her panties, slowly pulling them down her legs, exposing her to the air.
Watches her face as she gasps and whines, glasses askew, all that pretty makeup running down her face with sweat and tears. Fuck. âBeautiful, youâre so fucking gorgeous.â
âFuck, fuck, Marce, please, Marce, pleaseâŠâ
She keeps careful track of every minute twitch in her expression as she presses a finger into her, nice and slow, thankful she thought to trim her nails this morning. Sheâs so bloody soft inside, quivering. Sniper can feel her brain dripping out of her ears. âThatâs good, love, I have you.â
Florence is barely comprehensible anymore, balling the sheets in her fists, crying out as Sniper pushes in a second finger, scissoring them, stretching her out. Itâs a good thing she parked far awayâgood thing theyâre doing this in her van instead of a closet, or locked in a stall in the bathroom, like she used to imagine.Â
She wonders if anyone but herâs ever seen Miss Pauling like this. Needy and desperate and keening. Sheâll be honest, she loves the idea of being the only one.
Right now sheâs all hers and sheâd do a lot of bloody things to keep it that way.
âYou wore this dress for me, didnât you?â Sniper mumbles, low and gravelly, hunched over her and pressing in close to the shell of her ear, loving the way she thrills up into every touch. âDid your makeup all nice and pretty, was that for me too? Hoping Iâd look at you and think about this?â
Adds another finger, sucking hickies into her neckâlow enough theyâll be hidden under her collar, of course Sniperâs polite about it, but she knows sheâll know theyâre there, sheâll feel them all day tomorrow. âFuck, IâI love it when youâlook at me,â Florence manages, breathless, eyebrows screwing together in concentration.
âI canât take my eyes off you, love, youâre so bloody gorgeous.â
She finally starts massaging her clit with the pad of her thumbâFlorence almost bends in half, clutching her vest, panting incomprehensibly into her neck.
âThatâs good, you like that?â She leaves a cheeky little nip on the skin behind her ear, chuckling when she jumps in her arms, whimpering. âYou know, you donât need to play those games with me, just come down and ask anytime and I can give you this, ay? Premium service just for you, I know how much you could use a break.â
âMarce, oh, MarceâŠâ
âYou think too much, you ever need me to turn your brain off for you, love, just ask.â She speeds up, fucking her on her fingersâSniper can feel her tightening around her knuckles, knows sheâs getting so close, slows down just long enough to say: âYou wanna come, love?â
âPlease, please Marce, a little more, oh, Marce, Marceâ!â
Sniper holds her still with an arm around that impeccable waist as she tips over the edge, rippling around her fingers and clawing at her back, desperately moaning her name into her neck and humping her hand through the orgasm, fucking perfect, all hers. The moment Florence has enough sense to properly manipulate her limbs again she grabs Sniper firmly by the face in order to shove her tongue as deep into her mouth as it goes, which catches her off guard, but certainly isnât something sheâs going to complain about.
She finally pulls her fingers out, dripping, and then Florence rolls her over with an unexpected amount of strength and collapses on top of her (still all tangled up in the tights âround her knees), pushing her down against the mattress as they make out, suck all the air out of each otherâs lungs and moan into each otherâs mouths. Sniper doesnât know how much time passes, sheâs a bit too distracted, but all the same it feels too soon when Florence finally pushes off of her and rolls onto her back, panting, pale skin perfectly framed in the moonlight under dark velvet. âHolyâoh my god, holy shit.â
And just like that, itâs over. Sniper pushes herself up against the side of the bunk, and she feels like she wipes a solid layer of sweat off of her forehead. âYeah,â she wheezes. âAlright.â
âThat wasâgood,â seems to take her a bit to land on the right word. âThat was really good.â
Sniper makes a sound of affirmation with just enough effort to be heard, rolling off the bunk and beelining straight to the sink to wash Florence off of her hands before she does anything else. Sheâs feeling a bit insecure about herself all of a sudden; she hasnât exactly done a great job with much of anything, tonight. And regret isnât the right wordâmaybe fear, something a little less intense than fear, that they just did something they canât undo.
She looks back and Florence is finally properly stripping off her tights and undies, and she canât bring herself to stop looking. âYou have no idea how much I needed that.â
âMmm.â Sheâs not a talker. She takes the dishtowel off the handle of the oven and dries off her hands, then ambles back towards the bedâstarts unzipping her pantsâcringes when her fingers graze across the huge wet spot on the front, unpleasant in both sensation and memory. âSorry about⊠earlier, itâs, er⊠been a minute.â
âWhat are youâŠâ She trails off when Sniper turns to face her. âOh.â
Sheâs not so sure why she suddenly feels insecure about undressing in front of her, after⊠well, after that. Something about how they mightâve gotten the order of operations a little mixed up, here.
âDonât worry about it.â Lots of âdonât worry about itâs today. âYou followed through, thatâs all that matters. Could you unzip this for me?â
âErâone sec.â She shimmies her pants down and slips on a pair of (mostly) clean shorts in one motion, then moves in front of the nook.
Florence turns around. She unzips the dress. âAnd, uh, the bra too.â It takes her an embarrassing moment to figure out the clasp, but she gets it fast enough. Florence pulls the dress off above her head, then the bra slides down her arms. Sniper politely averts her eyes like they didnât just shag on her shitty two-inch mattress, and like she isnât standing there half-naked herself.
Something, something, professionalism. She could use a cig.
âOh, fuck.â
âWhat?â
âI think I left my change of clothes back at base.â Sniper looks back over at her and is a little struck with the surreality of the situation, her boss sitting arse-naked on her bed in a puddle of fancy clothes. âCould I, uh⊠borrow something?â
And well it would be perfectly easy for Sniper to just walk back to base and get it for her, but she gets the feeling Florence knows that too.
She picks out a white T-shirt and a pair of sweatpants with an elastic bandâsniffs them just to make sure they belong in her clean pile, and then tosses them over to her, covering her mouth to hide a smile.
âThanks.â
âDo you need anything else? I, er⊠food, or water, or⊠a smoke? Oh, Iâll put on some teaâŠâ
âTea sounds fucking great, thank you.â
She gets the cig into her mouth and hovering two inches from a lighter before realizing she should probably check sheâs okay with it, shouldnât she. Like a professional (christ, she should probably give that word a break). She says, dumbly, with it clutched between her back teeth: âDo you mind if IâŠâ
Sheâs already dressed in Sniperâs clothes, laying on her side with her glasses hung from her neckline, watching Sniper intently. âGo ahead.â
Fuck. She opens the window above the kitchenette as she lights up and the cold air that blows in does nothing to sober her.
Sniper puts on a teapot. She feels like sheâs thinking a lot but thereâs so much on her plate it all just kind of muddles into a vague soup of dread, and she doesnât know why. Sheâs an adult, theyâre both adults. So what they crossed the line. So what she just fucked her boss. So what Miss Pauling is laying on her bed dressed up in her clothes waitinâ for a cuddle. So what?
âEr⊠Florence.â She leans against the counter, wondering whenâs the right time to finally put on that shirt. âCan I still call you Florence?â
She shrugs. ââTil I leave the van, sure.â
âI, uh.â Sniper probably should have come up with a plan before she opened her mouth. âIâm kind of⊠thinkingâŠâ
âThis wasnât anything, right?â
Oh, great, she feels the same way. âNothing.â
âJust stress relief.â
âBetween coworkers.â
âBetween friends.â She rolls up onto her kneesâfuck, you can see her nipples straight through the shirt. âOff the clock.â
âRight. No oneâs business.â
âAnd since itâs no oneâs business weâll never tell anyone this happened, ever.â
âTo my bloody grave.â
âOkay,â she says, folding her arms under her armpits. âOkay. Great. Glad weâre on the same page.â
The pot whistles. Thereâs only one mug in the cupboardâSniper thinks about all the other ones soaking in the kitchen sink, brought in in the morning and left to rot. Fuck, she knew there was something she was supposed to bring back from base.
Itâs fine. Sheâs not thirsty. She puts in a bag of lemon and ginger and leaves it to steep and⊠well, sheâs not really sure what to do after that.
âAre you⊠sleeping in here?â
âIf itâs okay with youââ
âYeah,â she blurts. And itâs a good thing her brain kind of went ahead on her there, because thatâs not a question she wants to consider. âEr, then do you want me on the couch, orâŠ?â
âItâs cold in here, donât you think?â Sniper must give her a blank look at that, since she follows: âWe could huddle for warmthâŠâ
âOh.â
Her face splits into a grin and she bends over herself laughing, and Sniper remembers how not-sober she currently is. âSorry, Iâm being ridiculous. Just câmere.â
Sniperâs not gonna turn down a request like that.
The mattress isnât built to fit both of them, but maybe thatâs sort of the point. Makes a great excuse to crowd right up against each other, tangling together.
Sniper has a vague thought about staying awake for the time being, savoring the surreality of the moment, but she falls asleep the second her head hits the pillow.
***
She wakes up alone. She really shouldnât be surprised, but sheâs a little hurt despite her best efforts.
When she sits up thereâs a little pile of black fabric at the end of her bed, though. A cheeky little gift. Itâs her tights and theyâre every bit as ruined as Sniper figured theyâd be.Â
A mug full of stale lemon tea sits on the counter. Shit, she forgot about thatâbut when she picks it up to drain it thereâs something underneath it, a torn-off piece of a drugstore receipt with a phone number scribbled on the corner. âPersonal - Call me on a SECURE PHONE if you need meâ, and a cheeky winky-face.Â
And, well. Not many things that could be for.
She folds up the receipt, shoves it in her pocket, and leaves for work.
