“Of course you are,” Eddie said, dishing out another slew of drinks for the more frenzied patrons. When they were satisfied, Eddie could give his full attention to the flirtatious onlooker. He stepped over towards him, flicking a glass up into the air. He made it land perfectly with a little manipulation, but it was just for convenience’s sake if anything. “And you’ll miss Athena’s face? My, she would light up at the thought of that,” he further jested, knowing that those cute features of hers would turn red in possible fury if anything. 

“What would you prefer?” the owner said, advertising the wide array of drinks behind him. “Or are you just going to observe the whole night,” a minor tease. Eddie understood why Z was around some of the times. He was a welcome patron, but he felt the gaze he would receive at times. Furthermore, he felt it more than the usual ones in the bar. It was something he got used to. It was a compliment to him if anything.

       ♡ — Hearing the man’s voice from a distance when it was projected was very reminiscent of wolves howling in the woods; it was beautiful in a haunting sense. Up close, Eddie’s voice sent bass straight to the younger witch’s stomach, pooling there in a way that made one of his legs lift itself over the other involuntarily. Preparing for the vocal embodiment of sex was nigh-impossible. “ It’s actually my goal to make her smile at least once, ” he admitted, eyes open and a bit wild as he takes the man in. He’d never lost control of himself before, yet here he was, stripped bare under the gaze of a beautiful man with a deceptive amount of power.

       ♡ — “ You, ” Z replied without a morsel of hesitation in his voice. The artificial light of a nearby lamp reflected off of the glass that Eddie had expertly flipped onto the bar. It left a small glare along the horizontal plane of Z’s glasses. His head dipped to avoid angling any rays at the bartender’s eyes. “ ...should surprise me — Wow; that wasn’t subtle at all. How about a cocktail ?? ” He smiled then, perhaps a bit too sweetly.

       ♡ — “ Really bad innuendo. ”

Ella frowned down at the grass, her lips pursing to the side a bit. “It was my fault more so than yours.” She smiled up at him a bit. “You were only trying to help me so… if I can maybe treat you to something to thank you? Unless, of course, you’d like to finish your book. Then I completely understand.” She chuckled. “You seemed quite engrossed. One of the best things is a good book.”

       ♡ — “ I don’t think the grass would’ve seen it that way, but I’ll come back and water it later. Maybe it’ll forgive me. ” There was a sort of beauty to the ring of brown grass. It resembled a fairy ring without the mushrooms. “ Chuck Tingle is taking me on a weird, emotional roller coaster right now, so I’m gonna have to decline. Maybe another time though ?? ”

“Why would people wanna take my book? I wouldn’t like that at all,” Colton said softly before stowing his book back into his bag, as if to keep it safe. Colton felt like he was doing the whole witch thing wrong. He was bad at spells, didn’t have a coven, and now people wanted to take his book. “What’s a Corvus?” He asked softly and looked down at the ground before pulling out a little badge from his pocket. It actually was the symbol of his grandmother’s coven–very, very dark and very hidden. “But I found this in the attic too and thought it was pretty and if I give it to another witch, they’ll let me in their  coven…”

       ♡ — Griselda Hopkirk’s grandson was an outcast without an inkling of knowledge of his true culture. Just thinking it was blasphemous. “ Old grimoires are like old money. People stealing them would be like marrying an old man and then killing him after he’s already left everything to you in his will. ” He wasn’t incredibly good with symbolism. He had wordplay in spades, but coming up with metaphors took way too much effort. “ Well, Corvus is the scientific name for a crow. It’s also the name of the biggest coven on the Isles, ” Z told him before taking a gander at the badge he pulled out. “ You probably shouldn’t give that to anyone, either. It looks like a talisman. Those should stay in family lines. ”

I was just talking about how much I missed ice skating,” Noah said softly and skated over to the person who was talking to him. “But there’s like never any ice left in the dispenser anyway,” Noah chuckled before skating and doing a double axel “Do you know how to skate?” He called out to the person.

       ♡ — Z’s middle finger swiped just underneath his lower lid, careful not to smudge the leftover liner he’d applied the day before. “ That makes more sense. You confused me for a second, ” he called back, watching the younger male carefully. At the second question, he couldn’t help but snort. “ No; no. I’m barely coordinated in normal shoes. Knowing me, I’d probably find a way to split the ice or something. You make it look easy, though. ”

       ♡ — “ At least your priorities are in check, ” Z whispered, pace picking up a little as he exited the room and went into the hall. The walls looked different now, far more pristine than they had been only minutes earlier. “ Well, since this is the community part of the building, I’m pretty sure I could find you just about anything in the kitchen. What do you feel like eating ?? I’m a great cook. Just, uhm, don’t pick tuna, please. I hate the way tuna smells. ”

Wally again figured that staying silent was the best option. It had become clear that while neither men were the most powerful witches on the planet, or maybe the most powerful even in town, they were a decent match for each other. Wally didn’t want to think about what tricks Z had hiding up his sleeve … and probably under the other sleeve - and probably up his pant leg. 

“Hate?” He spat the word out like it was poison. “Who said I hated you?” Wally found himself smiling a little. “I haven’t known you long enough to hate you. I’m sure our third meeting will solidify my deep loathing for you, but I don’t hate you. You’re a cock, don’t get me wrong,” he lifted up his leg. “But I don’t hate you.” Even as he spoke and his anger simmered, his member refused to go down.  “So, what’s the price I gotta pay for you helping me?” Anything but wearing a tutu, he thought.

       ♡ — “ Maybe you should add giving men mixed signals to your very small list of things you do well, Inches, ” Z enunciated without a hesitation in his voice. He had just finished fixing the last shoe, mind elsewhere. The blond was an...interesting witch. He’d learned from their past two interactions that he was a fan of curses and hexes, all from the school of evocation. This meant his will was strong, but his careless nature meant he still had quite a bit to learn to make up for his faults. Z had his own faults as well, though his preference for reactionary magic rather than outright performing acts of miracle did a good job of not making them abundantly clear.

       ♡ — Rising up to full height, Z still had to tilt his head back to look Wally in the eye. How he managed to hold so much sarcasm in such a small vessel, he would never know. His irises took on a pale yellow as he trailed his index finger along Wally’s forearm. It left a trail of similar colored energy in its wake, but it evaporated as quickly as it had come. His pupils dilated for a moment, then it all faded away.

       ♡ — Psychometry was a confusing area of magic because it required the ability to mentally filter through unneeded information. This was where Z excelled. His years of reading allowed him to sift through sequences of things in the blink of an eye. The drawback — there always was one — lie in the fact that he could only do this short-cutting for a single piece of information. Today, he’d searched for a spell. “ You can bring me flowers, ” he murmured, only a breath after his eyes had first shifted in color. “ I have been in need of some wolfsbane. ”

       ♡ — It was good to find some sort of humor in how ridiculous the situation had been. One of his reservations about medical professionals centered around the professional aspect of it all. His frequent injuries were almost always comical. “ Oh; super. I’m like...if Criss Angel were really shitty at his job. ” He watched her place her things away with a curious gleam in his eye. “ ...Extremely shitty at his job. ”

       ♡ — Z couldn’t stop the small chuckle that bubbled out of him, eyes alight with a twinkle of genuine humor. “ Sex is art, ” he preached. He set his chin into the palm of his hand. “ All the marks your lips and fingers leave on each other...the rhythm of your hips...every curve you’re committing to memory...the music of skin against skin singing on top of the chorus of moans and groans. ” Despite the salacious nature of his words, his face gave no other impression but innocence, as if he were speaking about his favorite movie. “ My performances capture all of that as well, sometimes. It's not all daredevil shit. ”

“Calling out sick?” Eddie murmured to himself, looking over the mass of anxious customers who could use a drink or two…or several. When he arrived back from his errands, he came to see that his bar was missing its keep. A few glares came his way while some were more receptive to his appearance. Either they see him as their giver of salvation or just a friendly face to see. He smiled at his patrons nevertheless. It was fine that the bartender couldn’t get out of bed. If he was that sick, he needed to stay there. Walking behind the counter, he placed his hands onto the finely made mahogany structure. Forgetting already that his employee was ill, he had a job to do.

“Y’all get my lovely company tonight, guys,” he started, before pointing at the people at the front of the crowd, “first round’s on me tonight. My apologies.”

       ♡ — Z had two reasons to go the Lux: the atmosphere had a level of comradery to it that he couldn’t find in the coven and the onion rings were almost as delicious as the mountain of Hawaiian man meat that owned the place. Eddie could pull the moon from it’s position in the sky with his arms alone. At first, the young witch would go in his best style of dress, playing up the doll like features of his face with light touches of makeup and hair mousse. That level of physical dedication ceased when he overheard another patron talking of the owner’s spouse.

       ♡ — That discovery led Z to cease his futile attempts to get the man’s attention. Instead, he grew to prefer watching from afar. He could ogle the man over the rim of his reading glasses in glances whenever he wanted without seeming conspicuous, though he knew Eddie must have noticed his presence as he was no stranger to the witch kind. If rumor served correctly, he was once a powerful member of the Corvus coven. Now, he was an equally powerful Prodito. The danger of it all only made him all the more attractive.

       ♡ — “ No Athena ?? ” he chimed in from his seat at the bar. A hardcover novel waited on the wood just in front of him. He was halfway through All Grown Up by Jami Attenberg. It was quite the read. “ I’ll miss her face, but I’m really really glad I get to see yours for tonight. ”

       ♡ — Arms were reaching out toward him and Z could only tilt his head and assess their structure. He lingered there for a breath before finally taking the clothes, which he tossed over his shoulder. They found their places after folding themselves mid-air. “ Well, if we ever meet again, feel super free to just rock out with your cock out, ” he said, taking steps toward the door. On the way, he tipped his head in the direction of the bathroom; any misplaced items corrected themselves. “ How about we get you something to eat and then maybe I can help you get your memories of last night back, yeah ?? ”

       ♡ — There was a fine line between spite and lust that Z didn’t have any comfort toeing. To have so much of his disdain for the blond witch also be paired with his unfortunate attraction made him a little uneasy. He hated the cliché of their dynamic. Hate-to-mate relationships were something he preferred to read in books, not attempt to be etched into reality. He hated the angst of real life. He had enough of it on his own.

       ♡ — “ Oh, I’m sorry. The mood clearly said something about blowing and I thought I’d deliver, ” Z teased, making sure the waistband of Wally’s underwear was secure underneath deep v lines. He didn’t allow his eyes to fall any further down. Even covered in cloth, he knew he’d be in for quite the tent. If he kept it out of his line of vision, he wouldn’t have to suffer the same fate.

       ♡ — The command to hurry up would normally have made Z do the opposite, but he didn’t care for the gaze he was under from the other patrons. It had motivated him enough to slip the pair of sweatpants from his shoulder and he repeated the process with Wally’s legs, perhaps manhandling him just a bit. “ You know... ” he started, now moving on to the shoes. He had to wave a hand over them to stop them from being magically repulsed by their owner. “ ...You’re awfully bossy for someone who’s getting help from someone they supposedly hate. Lift your feet, please. ”

       ♡ — “ Boredom. ” It was a lie, but one he’d told enough to feel like the truth. At this point, it might as well had been; everything he did stemmed, in some way, from boredom. Besides, all’s fair in love and war.” Wally had never felt this much intimidation and hatred for someone so short. His breathing was almost irregular, but damn it he tried to keep his chest steady. His heart was certainly acting up and later on Wally would rip it out of his chest and give it a good talking to. “You’re my nightmare, kid.” 

Glancing off to the side where he saw the other gym member ogling, Wally cursed out to every god and deity that he could think of. Wally decided that Z would be the ultimate project of his magical workings. The platypus of all his cursed subjects. Antlers, fins, claws and fur - even scales on his ass. Yes, Z wouldn’t even resemble an animal or human. He’d be put into whatever was left of freak-shows. With a small will of thought, the peeping Tom was forced away, his mind telling him to go shower in ice cold water. 

The blonde witch had no idea how Z could put this shirt on, it literally confused him as much as algebra did. But that confusion was placed off to the side, because he had a bigger matter to attend to. Down below, resting between his thighs, Wally’s member was getting excited. The cotton of the underwear between his fingers could only distract him for a second before his eyes watched, in real time, Wally’s member grow to attention. Wally rolled his eyes and snorted. “How could I have guessed.” Wally made one more attempt to dress himself by pushing his foot into his shoe. The shoe just moved further away, sliding right out from him like a mat that ran for home. “God damn it,” he muttered, still pressing the small cloth to his crotch. 

The blonde boys eyebrow rose up when it sounded like Z had accepted his offer. “I’ll give you a years supply of free novels. But only anything that’s angsty and packed with teenage love triangles, you know the kind I’m sure you read.” Wally took a small step back when Z came up to him and knelt down. Fuck, he’s not gonna … oh - oh shit, he’s just getting my clothes. Wally blew a sigh of relief. If they were in private it might have been okay. 

“My arms? Oh, fuck you.” Wally had the choice though and he knew it. He’d have to just bare the pain of being in his birthday suit. Wally dropped the towel and let his hands come all the way up. He caught a whiff of himself and his nose crunched up. “I smell like jocks who’s have too many protein shakes.” 

       ♡ — “ To recap, you think I live in a library, I pretend I don’t want to get fucked by jocks, and I’m into teen romance ?? ” Z asked shallowly. His body was still dangerously close to the blond’s. If he tipped his head upward, he would most certainly be breathing the same air that left the taller male’s mouth with each of his exhales. In any other capacity, it would’ve been erotic. Perhaps it was here as well, but Z’s stony expression provided a mixed set of signals. “ Am I your manic pixie dream ?? ”

       ♡ — Z moved one of his hands away from the pile of clothes to trace his index finger along the other male’s jaw. His large, hazel eyes wandered to his left to see a man attempting to covertly watch the duo. He gave the stranger a wink before looking back at Wally just as his towel plummeted to the ground. “ Daddy's willing to offer everyone a show. How egalitarian of you. ” His smirk returned.

       ♡ — Returning both hands to the clothes, he tossed everything but the shirt over one of his shoulders. Then, he scrunched up the cloth until the neck hole was the only thing recognizable. He pulled it over Wally’s head, grabbed one of the man’s arms by the bicep, and pulled it down to direct his hand through one of the holes of the sleeves; doing the same for the other side came naturally. “ ...And you smell like a McDonalds parking lot prostitute after a rough day, ” he taunted as he pulled the lower hem of the shirt down over Wally’s abdomen. 

       ♡ — The length of the shirt didn’t cover his crotch, which Z gave an impressed once over before pulling out the pair of underwear from where it had been resting on his shoulder. “ Now we’re going to do this one leg at a time, okay ?? The sooner I can get away from your ball sweat, the better. ” He hunched himself forward, head hovering a centimeter away from Wally’s abdomen as he held out the undergarment between them.

“Oh… thank you,” Ella responded to the compliment, a little shy once more. He seemed so at ease and friendly, she silently wondered if he was in a coven. If she was a witch, she would have loved to have him around. The mermaid then laughed at the other’s last comment. “If only,” she said, still chuckling a little. “But you’re quite inventive.” Even taking moisture out of the plants to help her was pretty smart on his part.

       ♡ — Each compliment was followed by less bashfulness on the mermaid’s part. This response seemed almost comfortable. Part of him envied her. In addition to being selfless, she happened to be a genuine and modest person. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been so pure, or if he’d ever been that way at all. “ You’re welcome. ” Z took a look down at the browned terrain and then back at Ella. “ I think the grass would have a different adjective to describe me.”

       ♡ —  Had Z not taken his eyes off of the stranger ?? He couldn’t really remember having seen anything else in the past few seconds, nor blinking for that matter. He could, however, recall every line and curve highlighted by what little sunlight sifted through his tinted windows to wash over the other man’s body. “ What ?? ” he asked, dumbly. Focus, Z. “ I mean yeah, but do what makes you comfortable. We’re, like, all about the beauty of nature here and there is...so much beauty in all of this. ” He pointed a finger at the man and motioned it vertically.
