Also 'survival of the fittest' is a process that is supposed to render an entire species better at living in their environment, allowing ultra-rich do-nothings to arbitrarily starve the people who do the actual work is not a survival strategy it's suicide

I'm all for "poverty is artificial" discourse, but I think it should be said that wealth inequality is still as much an example of legitimate evolutionary pressure as anything else.

We construct a system where certain behaviors (hard work yes, but also extraction of wealth through capitalism) lead to more offspring with better outcomes. Those behaviors (good and bad) and the natural aptitudes that enable them are selected for.

All that to say that no part of that is any better than if, for example, poverty were systematically eliminated and your ability to raise healthy offspring was based more on your artist ability. Hell, that'd be pretty rad.
