Herron island is a small remote island where we spent a day building some temporary architecture.
ok, this is a hard one. griffith observatory in griffith park in los angeles. pretty much the unquestioned and unchallenged best and most remarkable and most beautiful and most iconic building in l.a. so how does one (aka: me) take pictures of l.a’s most iconic building, knowing full well that it’s been photographed well a billion times?
hm. i guess you hike up there and take some pictures and try not to worry about it too much? which is what i’ve done.
i mean, i’m not trying to be the most professional architectural photographer blogger person on the planet. i’m just trying to take pictures of buildings (usually in l.a) that i like. and i like the griffith observatory.
here’s why it’s remarkable:
a - it looks at space b - see ‘a’ c - it’s huge. i mean, huger than huge d - it sits on a promontory overlooking pretty much all of l.a. e - it’s regal and noble f - and so on g - and so on h - ok, it’s just amazing
and you can see it from almost anywhere in l.a. in east l.a it’s always there, at the top of normandie or out of your friends living room window. and in west l.a it’s hovering there, framed by the distant mountains, reminding you that l.a has observatories and mountains. i could go on. and on. it’s just amazing. huge and beautiful and noble and ostensibly timeless. the best building in l.a. thanks moby
