A little Veldigun AU about their origins and lore:
The Veldigun were created by Six, the Genesis (a being whose first form was Vel'Darun, a shapeshifting entity born on the Veldigun Moon (a sentient planet-like celestial body far from Earth; the Veldigun Moon is seen in Pastra's old previews back when his channel was taken over by Lankmann, while Vel'Darun is found in two artworks on his steam account, with one artwork having a landscape-like form and te other bearing Vel'Darun with three arms and a glowing orb/core), and who then became a triangle with six eyes), and always travel in pairs.
They begin as a pile of ooze that subsequently consumes human minds and acquires the appearance related to the environment or victims.
The Veldigun can cause hallucinations and mental pain to who use near them; they feed on the mind, memory and consciousness of their prey, living mumbling husks behind.
There are unconfirmed amounts of Veldigun all over the world, but only six are currently known.
The first Veldigun pair: Clyde and Winfrey.
Clyde consumed Clyde Lankmann, the father of Herbert Lankmann and Simon Lankmann.
He soon became cunning and paired with Winfrey: some years after, William Winfrey (a struggling musician) was taken to the Lankmann's asylum to be experimented on by Herbert Lankmann (who looked Veldigun-like to a Veldigun-influenced victim, Lankmann characterized by black body, yellow head and yellow horizontal stripes on legs and arms and fingers, two red eyes, a malevolent long grin and a black top hat), a human who's been obsessed with understanding the Veldigun after he witnessed his family being consumed.
3 years of experiments in the asylum and William Winfrey is freed, with PTSD from what Lankmann did to him, but his recovering peace doesn't last long: while Clyde hibernates, William Winfrey is consumed by Winfrey, the Veldigun, who acquires love for music and PTSD from the Lankmann's Asylum.
Winfrey consumes minds in a village (possibly Eastridge County), but as he leaves husks behind this goes noticed to the wrong eyes and ears: Lankmann, the monstrous doctor, captures the Veldigun (Winfrey panics because William Winfrey's mind recognises Lankmann) and takes him to the asylum where Winfrey is kept in a secret room under Lankmann's office.
Lankmann used Winfrey for "alteration therapy", a process that forces the Veldigun to consume the "bad parts" of a patient's mind.
This was done on six patients, with only two (Klaus Kruger and Jack Walker) remaining alive as the other four lost their minds forever and died (they heard Lankmann's repeated phrase "YOU'RE INSANE" while being affected by Winfrey).
But soon, as Lankmann returns to the asylum one day, the secretness of the operation on Winfrey and the patients is known about by Clyde, the Veldigun who consumed Herbert Lankmann's father.
Clyde consumes Lankmann, frees Winfrey: Winfrey goes on a rampage, consuming every single mind in the Lankmann's Asylum until they begin to scream in his head, driving him insane.
Clyde, now with Lankmann's manipulative and sadistic mind, uses his voice to keep the other Veldigun, including Winfrey, in line.
Things aren't good at all.
Meanwhile, Jack and Klaus grow terrifying, with Jack being consumed Jack Walker (an abused toy store owner) and Klaus being consumed Klaus Kruger (a serial killer): Klaus never eats from the moment his mind was turned Veldigun, and usually uses Jack as a trap to lure and kill children, his favorite activity; Klaus is often mad at nothing as he had strong mental issues back as a human, while Jack just likes laughing everything off.
Simon developed empathy for humankind after consuming Herbert's brother, Simon Lankmann, and paired with The Flock, a Veldigun who, on his side, was turned to consume only minds of birds: both Simon and The Flock now live in an abandoned farmhouse in a forest and feed on local wildlife.
Please note that THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL (AMD THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK THIS IS REAL LORE FROM PASTRA) and has fragments of the old DOAI lore, which is now sadly outdated, and has old characters and details I think Pastra himself doesn't even notice nowadays.
