An interesting use of umbilical cord blood stem cells for chemotherapy treatment of cancer patients. An alternative to bone marrow transplants.
Innovations in healthcare
Who would have thought that a simple compulsory tick-checklist for surgeons could reduce the rate of surgery infections from 11% to zero? Who said that the developing world healthcare is efficient? And how many more simple tricks might exist that could improve healthcare services so drastically?

The Challenges
Issues that I'd like to see being tackled in the world of healthcare include:
- Genetic medicine - genetic engineering/synthetic biology and regeneration of tissues
- Mobile healthcare technology - portable and remote patient monitoring systems
- Low-cost medical imaging devices - everything from ultrasound probes to MRI scanners
- Ease of access communication - imagine calling up your doctor on Skype or a live video surgery in remote Himalayan hospital with direct advice from UK surgeons
- Surgical robotics - not sure how helpful this is in improving healthcare (as discussed in recent reports), but definitely sounds like a more "humanely" approach to surgical procedures
Confocal microscopy
Why do I love revision time? lol
Cause I learn so many new things...
Confocal microscopy - is a new type of microscopy where scattered light is removed and thus increases the resolution of the microscope. Genius invention!

Can't get enough of...this song.
The only recording of this song by the Russian legends - "Kino". Amazing lyrics as always.
Exams
It is at this time that I often realize just how much I love my friends and miss hanging out with them!

Magnetic Man ft. Katy B - Perfect Stranger, live at Maida Vale.
A classic. Love observing the studio work - how each musician is in their own world, and yet they create this great track.
Evenings spent on end at TED(conference).com
Here's one that perhaps nicely links up to my degree.
First one.
As all the great new things in life - the first step is not always the most confident one. Think of a baby trodding through its first few metres...
So this is it. I've always wanted to have a place where I could sketch a few thoughts of mine.
As a starter - here's a brand new project I'll be soon joining - it's called SeedRS. A startup that will become an online platform for linking entrepreneurs to investors and making investments in startups super-simple and quick.
