Conscious and Fate
Recently found below picture on my hard disk. Usually use this picture to explain students organization behavior - as company have to be conscious about environment and internal state of the system, and do not relay on fate for market success.
But to make the macro view of the system we live in, specially now in time of deep global recession which is going now for 5 years and hearing all the time that banks and governments are responsible for it.
But yesterday Forbes published very interesting findings (1) which report that only 13% employees around the world are actively engaged in their jobs.
So are we conscious about result of such un-engagement ? Could we related it to recession ? Is it result of recession or is it reason for recession ?
Such a question are putting different phenomena to observe. One is future, and one is past. But what about present state ?
Found nice quote: "Once you have a clear picture of your priorities - that is values, goals, and high leverage activities organize around them. ~ Stephen Covey " - its free to ask what are the values of those work force ? Blame the others and thrive on suffering, not doing anything ?
If a feedback is information transferred to knowledge by organization means, and we live in "knowledge economy"* - is it fair to say ask what we could expect from global system ?
At one side we have high unemployment rate, and the other side we have unengaged employee's force which organised in business units do not produce enough value to move economy forward.
On the basis on the simple math - it's not hard to estimate that at one point this will break down.
But from the point of complex non linear mathematics we have to look on the function's around consciousness, as changing that variable we are actually influencing fate of any organized system, be it market or commons orientated.
* "knowledge economy" is the misleading concept of recent time, as two of the most important authors of the post industrial social movements, Daniel Bell and Manuel Castells did not define what the knowledge is.
