since developing my kind of unique fashion sense i've noticed that more people my age treat me like i'm "cool". this is a strange new experience for me as someone who was the weird autistic freak for all of my adolescence up until a couple of years ago. even now, anyone who gets to know me will quickly find out that i'm not confident or nonchalant or any other type of stereotypically "cool". but i do think that despite being a generally anxious and unconfident person, i seem confident because i choose to dress outgoingly and showcase my creative talents through fashion. and through doing this, i've noticed that a lot of young people have begun to respect my opinion more because i seem "cool" to them. with that comes a lot of social power that i didn't have before, which i've been noticing a lot lately. like, i often correct people on stuff like fatphobia and ableism and i've noticed people being a lot more receptive and actually listening to me when i dispute those things. so basically what im saying is if you notice you have some degree of social credibility, use it! because people will listen more than you think, especially as a teenager. and people can still think you're cool and respect you if you're the weird autistic kid. i believe in u
