`` .. Man, that was one hell of a nap. ``Â
`` Hey! I dunno what the hell is going, but if it's about me drawing a dick on your window, well, maybe you shouldn't have been a dick! ``
sometimes, a story begins with the most incredulous exclamations -- a random event to pull the viewer into the world that our story is going to take place in, with the least amount of effort. it's usually never clear what happened prior to that event, but at that point most people either forget or don't care, because they're absorbed in the now. a good shock opening is usually pretty good at doing that sort of thing.
most stories usually have a clear cut beginning, right? here's your story, this is what caused it all go down, and at some point, you're introduced to the douchebag behind the misery of the main characters. well, this story might be a little bit different. take a small town delinquent with powers out the wazoo, give him a can of spray paint, and a target that deserves to have their windows painted with crudely drawn male genitalia, and one has the beginnings of a tale that... honestly, makes no damn sense.
`` Okay, I get it, I get it. I insult you, you assert your dominance in the dickhead community by pulling a total dick move like this. Now, uh, fix this, yeah? ``
no response. Delsin briefly covered his eyes with an exaggerated gesture, counted loudly to three, and then dropped his arms to his sides with a deflated, but still hopeful, "tadaa~."
too bad nothing changed, and everything still looked like a weird fever dream with more pillars of light than an old akomish wives tale.
`` .... Guuuueeeessss not. ``Â
sometimes, a story begins because someone has spray paint and way too much time on their hands.

Yo. I’unno how to do an rp ad, it’s been too long since I’ve even roleplayed on tumblr!Â
But, for those interested in threading with the only guy in existence who’d wear a joutfit (jean outfit) just like this post and I’ll get to it whenever I can.Â

Character Name || Delsin Rowe.
Series || inFAMOUS
Personality ||Â
Motor mouth.
That's a perfectly feasible and accurate way to describe Delsin Rowe, a Native American and resident of Salmon Bay. Most people would concur that doesn't quite know how to shut his mouth, and most of those people would be 100% correct. Living life on the Akomish reserve has left the youngest son of the Rowe family with nothing to do other than cause trouble, and he's cultivated quite a rebellious attitude in response. He's all about free speech, and chances are, you won't find anyone more likely to be scribbling Rage Against the Machine quotes into the sidewalk.Â
Pretty sure he's also the only one in Salmon Bay who'd sing " No Sleep Till Brooklyn, yea', " unironically and with meaning in his voice.
Jokes aside (they're not jokes), Delsin is a rebellious young man with his heart in the right place, even if he needs his older brother to act as a moral compass for him in the beginning until he finds his own path in life. When Augustine tortures the Akomish tribe and sets them up to die, he immediately decides that he has to do something to fix it, showing that he does have some sense of responsibility when it comes to fixing problems he believes he's caused.
He's also got a pretty bad sense of humor, and likes tangwiches a little too much.
(But you didn't hear that from me)
Canon Point || Post ending, good karma.
Abilities ||Â
You're gonna regret making me type all of this out. Anyway, here's his. . ability list.
Power Absorption: For some reason, Delsin has the ability to absorb the powers of other conduits, which he discovers at the beginning of the game after absorbing Hank's ability to manipulate smoke. Depending on if he uses it for good or evil, it gives him the ability to be one of the most versatile Conduits in existence, as there seems to be no limit to the amount of powers he can absorb and thereby develop afterward.
Telepathic Perception: Similar to above, he's able to see the past and emotions of a Conduit whose powers he's absorbed through touch to gain information on their lives. This doesn't seem to work on non-Conduits.
Smoke Manipulation: At the beginning of the game, Delsin is able to absorb the abilities of another Conduit, Hank Daughtry, and it's with this ability of smoke manipulation that he begins the game with. Though it's said to be smoke, it's been confirmed that it's a combination of smoke, embers, and fire to give extra power to the ability itself. While channeling this ability, Delsin gains a number of abilities -- the ability to shoot smoke out of his hands, to turn into smoke and travel quickly through the use of air ducts, hell, he can even create smoke bombs to use to disorientate his enemies. He can embue the chain wrapped around his wrist with his powers and use it as a whip to burn and attack his opponents with. On top of this, he can use a swift moving smoke dash that renders him immune to damage, and can do so offensively to phase through an enemy. This power is not infinite, and he must replenish his power by absorbing smoke from any source that's currently, well, smoking. The more, the better. Oh, don't forget propulsion via Smoke Thrusters. Yeah.
Neon Manipulation: Later on, he absorbs Fetch Walker's power to manipulate neon light. He's shown to have abilities similar to what he can do with smoke, but instead, he dissolves and reforms from gaseous energy. It's freaking confusing as hell. While channeling neon, he can fire neon based lasers from his hands that detonate on contact with the enemy to deal more damage, as well as emulate his smoke dash with a neon dash instead. It literally turns dissolves him into neon light and enables him to sprint up or around walls at crazy speeds, as well as enable him to run on air for a brief period of time. When using his chain with this power, he turns it rigid and uses it as a makeshift sword. Just the same as his smoke ability, he can create neon grenades that suspend the enemy in the air, and he seems to gain an adrenaline based ability to slow his perception of the events around him to better aim at enemy weakpoints. And since this is good Delsin, he can shoot you in the foot to restrain you. Hell yeah. Like with smoke, he has to replenish his power by absorbing the light of brightly lit neon signs.
Video Manipulation: Exactly what it sounds like. He drains this power from television monitors, computer screens, anything that produces video, really. When using video, he shoots out a stream of pixelated projectiles and gains the ability to transform himself into "faint pixels," becoming invisible to all around him for a short time. Instead of using his chain, he creates a wicked looking digital sword, and when dashing or traversing the city, he creates a set of digital wings to fly with. Hell yeah. While in this mode, he can create swords known as Bloodthirsty Blades that can lock onto an attack an enemy from afar. Concrete Manipulation: The last power Delsin gets. It's pretty much what you'd think it is, but it's not as developed as his other powers, as it lacks a proper Karma Bomb. This pretty much lets him use concrete in a way similar to his other abilities, including firing blasts of jagged concrete in a burst fire pattern. Delsin can dash and cover himself in concrete, both protecting and making him a. . . ROLLING STONE. Get it? Yeah. Anyway. He gets concrete thrusters that propel him around, similar to the ones used in smoke form.
Karma Bomb: A devastating attack dependent on which of the three above powers that Delsin is channeling. It's like a standing moonsault that makes things go boom. Delsin possesses a karma bomb for three of the above powers, with Concrete being the only exception.
Orbital Drop: The first that Delsin develops; like I said, it's basically a moonsault on super powered steroids. He shoots into the air as three plumes of smoke, rematerializes at the top, and drops back down at great speeds, hastened by his smoke thrusters. When he slams back into the ground, he releases a giant explosion that reduces himself to ash and forms a giant tornado, only for him to rematerialize once more, no worse for the wear.
Radiant Sweep: Basically, he bursts in the form of a shockwave (??), causing the enemies around him to levitate into the air. Afterward, he showers the area with neon bolts that detonate after a short period of time, and depending on the karma level, either restrains the aflicted enemies or outright obliterates 'em. Looks like some DBZ shit.
Hellfire Swarm (Dreaming in Digital (get it)): Delsin summons down a swarm of pixelated angels to rain down destruction on any unlucky schmuck who has to fight him. It's pretty neat looking. And they're blue. But yeah. Angels dogpile and wreck shit.
Underdeveloped powers ahoy. Almost done.
Anyway. Like all Conduits, Delsin has an array of basic powers that all Conduits receive, such as enhanced strength, stamina, durability, and one hell of a healing ability that lets him keep coming back for more. And if they manage to get their grubby mitts close to a source of their power, they can regenerate at such an obscene pace you'd wonder if it didn't happen instantly. Other than that, he has some sick parkour skills and can draw some fancy dicks on walls with spray paint.
Weapons || A chain, wrapped around his arm. It does special things depending on what power he's channeling at the moment.
