I always return to this one, it just makes sense to me. The #DesignYourLife #90DayPlanner created by @PamelaShaw. It allows you to build your plan every 90 days, track yourself and make things happen. I use my favorite notebook (upper right) for day-to-day notes, phone conversations, and webinars. The book on the left guides you through several questions and steps to get your goals down on paper. I am working through it now and I love it! The Design Book (bottom right) is invaluable to me. As I sit in my quiet time this Saturday morning, I do the work again of intentional, prayerful consideration--what I want to leave behind, what and who I want to bring along with me into the next chapter. Life gives us clues and people show us who they are. Many people park right there – rehashing their hurts, reliving each infraction, building a tribe to see it their way, pointing fingers, mounting the justification for why and how they have been wronged or left wounded in someway. I however have a far greater responsibility to shed the old, stand and live and speak from my authentic voice. More than calling out a critic or personal pain, I'm concerned about my own behavior, swimming from within my own lane . That my words and even perhaps more importantly my thoughts are centered on God's truth, golden rule principles, godly hope in supernatural promises from his Word. "... that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart would be acceptable in His sight." Each new year is a fresh opportunity to shed something – a hurt or pain or a grief and loss. A disappointment a circumstance. A bad decision, an unhealthy or inauthentic relationship. Gossip, resentment, fear, hypocrisy. If those are a part of my hidden life in any shape or form, they are too heavy to carry into my present and future fully releasing me to "run in the path of His commands because He has set my heart free"! As I step into this new year, I will not cling to old ways, old thoughts that do not serve me well, relationships that weigh me down or choices that rob me of an abundant life. Freedom! Fresh Start! I bring the experiences and wisdom and success from the journey into a new template of a life that I am blessed to have the opportunity to design! #DesignYOURlife

Success accumulates. It's the small choices in the privacy of your half hour when you make the best over a good choice. And you repeat that half hour after half hour, workday after work day. The monotony of repetition becomes explosive success when you remain intentional about the private choice in the moment. Success accumulates. But so does failure. It's the result of not respecting the best choice in that half hour. The result of procrastinating the small task, the small action. It feels like it doesn't make any difference. But string that action together with a week of successful days and a month of successful weeks and a quarter a successful months and things will start to look different. You can change anything in 90 days. Your body. I relationship. Your career momentum. Since my December 26 Facebook live, More than one full week has passed. Did you take the questions at the end of week one of your design planner seriously? Did you contemplate them and actually write down answers? Did you follow their instruction to go back and review your goals, your affirmations, your new habits. And how is the design of your new week coming along? Push through! Trust the PROCESS!!! This is not just a theory, it's not just a goalsetting concept, it is a process of defining and designing who you are and want to become, and day by day investing in the thoughts, habits, and activities that a successful person does. 2017-- can't we all just get along? Does someone have to be wrong in order for me{you} to be right? Divisiveness doesn't need a label or a statement. It is reflected in the conversations, accusations, gossips, retweets, "likes" --the old flags pulled that actually block real conversation, that block personal responsibility from emerging in larger character! The arrogance that my opinion matters more or that my way of seeing things is the only possible right way… it has to cease. My prayer this year is that I will EXUDE the love, grace, and inclusion that I want extended to me. And that I can ignore the ignorance, political bullying, stereo-typing and manipulation that others impose to advance their own popularity, wealth, promotion or agenda. Hypocrisy-Dishonesty-Disloyalty --3 traits I pray to be free from & 'THE 3' I will NOT tolerate in a personal relationship. I believe most of us are genuinely trying to get it right – to learn what it means to love the way God does – and to REALLY love. To give the best we have to our family, work, friends, community. I believe most of us are genuinely trying to get better – from the inside out. I will believe that about you, and I ask you to believe that about me. None of us is perfect nor will we say things perfectly or do things perfectly in this new year either. But one thing I know for sure, we are better together. We are better when we lift each other up and support each other in times of need. Encouragement! Applause! Optimism! Believing the best and expecting the best! A great time to test your FOCUS is evaluating it within a busy month! I would say December qualifies! 🎄🎁🎅🏼 So the question becomes what are you doing right this very second, and is it taking you closer to your goal or not? Now in defense of my own post, I would say that this call-to-arms could actually advance your career. But it's what you do when you stop reading this one – do you keep scrolling and keep "liking" and keep scrolling and comparing? Because if you do that you tell your brain that your life is not as exciting or wonderful or lucrative or rich as someone else's and you start to feel sad and discouraged instead of motivated. Or you start to tell yourself that you don't have the same talents or looks or advantages or support as someone else. Or you simply procrastinate because this is more fun than getting on the phone and making 20 or 30 calls. The reality is we all have the blessing of 24 hours in a day. And it's what we do with those hours. I personally can go days without the television even being turned on. Can you? I can go days without listening to a news broadcast or a morning show. Can you? I cannot go days and days without working out, because my mindset begins to get distorted and my endorphins lower and my energy subsides. I cannot go days and days without 7 to 8 hours sleep because my thoughts become foggy and my energy is compromised. I cannot go days and days without designing my life and my day tomorrow before I go to sleep tonight. Otherwise I spend too much time trying to get organized. And decide over and again what I need to do first. So what about you? What are your distractions? Where is your best focus? A good goal it's a goal that stretches your belief, takes you in the direction of your vision, has a clear start and stop deadline, has specific parameters of trackable results, and the thought of accomplishing it brings a giddy joy to your heart! What are your goals for this day and for the month of December? This is chapter 12 of a 12 chapter book – one full year of your life. Let's let the last chapter be the best chapter! What have I learned from my past that I can carry into the success of my future? REMEMBER. We all make mistakes. We are blessed when we have the opportunity to learn from them. Support and love from family and friends, the input from professionals and wise counselors, a fresh start to move forward. But when we ignore all of that and repeat doing what we just want to do, what we "feel" like doing, life will offer up a price tag. Often the consequence becomes heavier and with a greater price when repeated. What lesson have I learned from my past that I do not want to repeat the consequences from? What choice or choices can I make today to safeguard that I am moving forward? What accountability or relationship or group or gathering will be beneficial to my honesty and support healthy decisions? What action steps can I take today to remind myself I am moving in the right direction? I can lash out, I can point a finger, I can get mad, I can tell myself the same old story, & blame someone else, but at the end of the day, if I'm wrong I am only kidding myself. Although my choices do affect other people – in beneficial and detrimental ways, my choices ultimately most affect me. It's the small choice – the seemingly insignificant choice that accumulates day after day and week after week. It's not the one big thing. It's the private Choice, made in a split second. That choice would take somewhere between one minute and one hour to complete – but the accumulation effect of that choice (those choices) will define my life. You know "QUITTING" has a lot of faces – not broadcasting your goal, not pushing yourself, not tracking results, not pursuing new business, staying inside your comfort zone, "checking out", redefining busy, welcoming distractions, gossiping, finding that friend who will listen to your justification, blaming someone else, believing your excuses – although that is not a comprehensive list, there are many things that actually indicate we have quit. Recognize any of these as your symptoms? Then JOLT yourself out of them! It can happen in any area of life – spiritually, physically, emotionally. It takes effort to grow and get better! A game plan, accountability, connection, celebration. Those components will take you to the next level in just about anything! CONVICTION GOAL COMMITMENT SUSTAINED PUSH THROUGH WORK EMOTIONAL MANAGEMENT TRACKING ACCOUNTABILITY HONESTY CONNECTION PUSH THROUGH BENCHMARK CELEBRATION In our MK World – if you've checked out or "quit" (or even convinced yourself that in the new year you will THEN "do A B C "… ) then do the hard thing NOW. Take on a proven course of resurrection! A 10 party week, a GOLD MEDAL! BE ACCOUNTABLE!! So often we want more but are willing to do less. We want results, but we're not willing to change our habits. Simply ask yourself this one question – "if I continue doing .... " --and then list the possible consequences, outcomes. If they are the results you really want, that you can celebrate loudly with your family and friends, that you can bring other people along & call it success, then odds are you're on a good path. If any of the options for not giving it your best are less than appealing, then YOU and only you can make the correction! It's always a story of "2 friends". Find someone in victory, it will start like this "I had this friend" or " I had this coach (leader, pastor, teacher, boss)..." The reverse is also true – find someone in crisis or distruction... it will sound the same. "I had this friend..." A principle you can bank on -"Time invested in one area is time away from another.." it's simple! When I do one thing, I am exchanging that amount of time by not doing something else. So I had better be sure that what I am saying yes and no to have great and intentional value! Instead of watching the news, talk shows, scrolling through social media, or reading inflammatory posts, WHAT IF today, we operated out of vision, love, intention, and complete alignment to the calling God has placed on our lives? To anybody who takes this challenge, let me know your results by posting a comment right here on FRIDAY: Challenge: For THREE days, do not watch the news, do not read a news article on your phone, do not read another person's lengthy or divisive Facebook post. If you catch yourself scrolling, just say "I can do this on Saturday". In the time you would normally invest there, be UHBER proactive with your goals. "Is what I'm about to DO taking me closer to my stated goal – Financial? Leadership? Promotion? Service?" Just ask and then answer the question. And then dig in more deeply to do the work instead of embracing the distraction! Who's in? Just three days! And then you might decide (like me), it's a habit worth keeping! Next to my own Mother, my life has been most impacted and influenced by this woman – Mary Kay Ash. Both right for her time, she was also ahead of her time – and her principles of living and doing business will ultimately go down in history as timeless. A simple foundation to the application of her business model was a personal conviction: when you put God first, family second, and career third – in that order everything works; and out of that order nothing works. That's not a message about the number of hours given to each area of life. It's a matter of living life rooted in something more significant than the circumstances of your day, the opinions of your neighbors, the pressures, expectations or definitions of society. In order for me to put God first, I need to know what His word says and what guiding principles of integrity and love and eternity are reflected there. If my family comes next, I also have to ask myself – in addition to my birth family, who is my family? And what does putting my family second actually mean? This is where many people get stuck. In the window of my youth had I not been willing to do the hard work and build my business, (making some sacrifices – different from compromise ) the options needed for my late husband, the opportunities afforded my son at a time when he wanted or needed them – would not have been available had I selfishly or inappropriately defined putting family second as "putting off" or procrastinating the building of my business. Sometimes a cliché becomes our wall. And when we build a wall that sounds a lot like an excuse, we get to live inside of that wall. No one will break through. You'll be safe in your own excuse. Until you're not. There is always a day of reckoning when we have to face our timetable against regret. And as Mary Kay used to say, we'll either be saying "I'm so glad I did", or "I wish I had". Yes of course, living outside that wall and juggling it all on a daily basis takes effort and constant awareness and intention. Now let's hear that one more time… What is it you're lacking? You know social media has in many ways distracted us from the vision God gave to us uniquely and personally, and the confidence in our journey, the provision for goal completion. It's so easy on any given day to focus on what is missing or what is not going well or what is lacking or what we don't like. But the reality is if we focus on what we DO have, what we're grateful for, what does exist, the list of privilege and blessing and provision far exceeds our lack!! I recall a conversation I was having with @theangieo shortly after Jerry died. I was feeling the desperation of his absence and the loss of so many roles he so loudly lived in our marriage, family & work. I was struggling to imagine how in the world I could go on, or how I would figure it all out. Who would help me. (Ultimately I hired eight people to do the tasks he was doing) Angie's insight was great and her wisdom gave me calm in that conversation. It was as simple as this: "You will have what you need when you need to have it." God did provide what and who I needed when I needed it. One day at a time. I first heard Dr. Henry Blackerby express that God was never late, rarely early, but always on time! So if you've been focusing on what or who you don't have, making excuses for lack of results or lack of success, reconsider --you have everything you need. Work and live and speak in that confident provision and watch the abundance begin to flow! Here's to the very best week of your life ever!✨🎶🎯‼️
