Celebrating Disability Aids Because...

My hearing aids have made my tinnitus go completely away when I'm using them, and it's much quieter than it used to be even when I don't have them in. I think a lot of people don't know that hearing aids can do that! I didn't know, so I suffered from constant ringing in my ears for nearly 15 years. Don't be put off by thinking "My hearing is basically fine" or "I'm too young for hearing aids" — if you have tinnitus, get evaluated by an audiologist to see whether there are devices or other treatments that can help.

I find this when I have my hearing aids in, but when I take my aids out, apart from being plunged back into an almost silent world, my tinnitus returns immediately 😢
