i still think about you every day

it’s been 5 months since we broke up and i don’t think a single day has gone by that i haven’t thought about you. the last time i cried over you was a little over a month ago and i cried happy tears. i was driving home and “happier” came on and these lines hit me like a ton of bricks: “i want to see you smile, but know that means i’ll have to leave/even though i might not like this, i think that you’ll be happier”. it truly is a beautiful thing to love someone so much and be completely selfless. i love you so much and as much as i was hurting, i know that this is what you wanted so i’ve come to terms with it. i still think about you often and wonder what you’re up to, but i’m so proud of myself for refraining from looking at your social media pages. i really hope you’re happy and that you’re continuing to achieve your goals. i wish we could still be friends because you were such a big and important part of my life, but i hope you know that i will always be here for you. i love you and i always will, but it’s time to move on.
