I watched Abstract: The Art of Design's episode on Paula Scher. I like how the Pentagram group is more like a group of friends instead of having a set hierarchy (with a boss at the top) like in a traditional workplace. I didn't think about the effect the switch to digital had on designers in the 90s. After the switch to digital in the late 90s, Paula Scher began to miss painting fonts by hand, or using art supplies to design fonts, which is why she decided to pick up painting as a hobby. I would assume that switching to digital design was tough for the veteran artists at the time. I've seen some of Scher's designs before, but I never knew they were hers. I enjoyed watching this documentary. It was very insightful. Paula Scher is an icon.
