"Whenever I see a ramen place, I always think of my father. It is his favorite food. Whenever he sees a ramen place, he insists on going at least once. If he likes it enough he'll go back and try all of the different flavors they offer. He also enjoys making it himself. Makes a whole day out of it. If you ever want to know where the best ramen is, ask my father."

"When I told him I had become the Sinnoh Champion, he declared we would have to go out for ramen to celebrate. He, Yuki and I went to a local spot. Even then, it was hard to find time for the three of us to spend time together. To this day, that was the best black garlic ramen I've ever had. In part of the celebration, we ordered a lot of takoyaki with the ramen. Despite how stuffed we were we went out for a little ice cream to top it all off. It was the perfect celebration. Nothing grand scale, just a little family time."
