*Finally Here’s the other version of that one vampire scenario. I’m so sorry it took so long.*
Word Count: 966
The rain was pouring hard overhead, a shiver from the frozen wind of the night ran through your body as you quickly ducked into the abandoned barn. Thinking you were alone, you leaned back against the wooden wall with a sigh. Your eyelids slowly fell as relief filled your body. “Why must he insist on chasing me,” you quietly questioned aloud.
“Who,” a strange, melodic voice asked from the dark shadows of the hay bales.
Your shoulders jumped up to your ears as you hurriedly tried to leave, “I’m so sorry,” apologies were already spilling from your lips. “I didn’t know there was someone else in here, I thought it was abando-”
A pale hand slammed against the wooden door you were fumbling with, creating a hole that snuck a view of the rolling fields. Then a silhouette slipped past it and your heart tightened.
You didn’t know what took over you, but your fingers wrapped around the hand next to you and pulled the person back into the shadows of the barn. Your body slipped under and into the warm, but uncomfortable pile of hay, pulling the unknown owner of the pale hand into it as well. Your breathing was irregular as you watched the shadow enter into the barn.
Lightning cracked outside the open door of the barn, lighting up the room. You held your breath, hoping he wouldn’t see you as the face of the boy who had been chasing you searched around the barn.
Then some yelling could be heard outside the barn, but it was hard to make out any of the words that the boy seemed to have heard. “But,” he started, calling back towards the person yelling at him. The person cut him off and you watched as his shoulders lowered before he hurried out of the barn.
Staying still for a few more moment, you finally let out a deep breath.
An amused chuckle rung next to your ear, and suddenly you remembered the stranger’s presence. Scrambling out of the hay, you gave a meek, nervous smile to the shadow sitting before you. “I’m sorry about that.”
“it’s alright,” a woman’s voice answered. “I remember when that kind of stuff happened to me.”
Another flash of lightning, and your eyes widened at the appearance of the beautiful woman sitting before you. She couldn't have been older than you, and yet, her eyes held a world of knowledge.
“What’s your name,” she asked, pulling you out of your trance.
“Y/N.”
“That’s a nice name, I’m Erina.”
“Erina,” you echoed, liking the taste of her name on your lips. “Have you always lived here? I feel like I’ve never seen you before”
She had gone quiet for a moment, your could see the dark shape of her hands play with her hair before dropping back onto her lap. “I used to live here,” she finally said, a sound of forlorn within her voice.
“Will you be staying for long?” Your eyes were widening in hope that maybe you will see her again, get to know her better.
Her breath wasn’t as visible as yours despite the cold night, but you could feel the deep breath that she took as she seemed to think on the question. You watched her darkened form shift before leaning forwards. She was so close to you, her fingers barely brushing against your cheek. They were frozen, sending a shiver down your spine. “No,” she answered, “I don’t think I will.”
Before you could stop the words, a question slipped from your lips, “Can I go with you?”
Amusement played at the end of her tone, mixing with the sadness of her words, “Don’t you have family, friends, people who will miss and need you?”
Feeling dumbfounded at the question, you sat back and grasped your hands against your knees. The pink tint of embarrassment kissed your cheeks as you told her, “I have this feeling that I never want to leave your side.” She seemed to think on it, but flustered at your own words, you continued, “I mean, Yes I have family and friends, but... I want to be with you.”
“All you know about me is my name,” she said, her head’s shadow tilting. “You’ve barely even seen what I look like.”
“But you are beautiful, all I needed was just a glimpse to know that.”
Erina’s hands seemed to press against her cheeks, and you could feel your own heat up more imagining what her soft face looked like blushing.
“Please,” you begged her, still not understanding what took over you, but still not wanting to leave her side. If she disappeared into the night and you never saw her again, you were sure your heart would break. “Let me stay with you.”
She was quiet again before her frozen hands enveloped yours. “What if I told you that I was a vampire, would you still follow?”
“A vampire,” you looked at her, unsure if she was telling the truth or not.
“Yes,” she answered, her grip tightening enough to let you know that she had strength without hurting you, “If I was a vampire, would you still want to be near me.”
You shook off another bout of a shiver as you looked down at her hands over yours. “I- this- my feeling of needing to stay by your side wouldn’t leave me, even if you were a vampire, I would still be heartbroken to never see you again.”
Her hands pulled away from yours. She stood up now, resting her finger under your chin. Lightning lit up the room to reveal her glistening fangs and glowing eyes, “Very well,” she said, letting her finger slip from your chin, down your neck before resting on your shoulder, “You may follow me.”
This is a zombie apocalypse au that I had started for Hermes, but I honestly can’t remember where I wanted it to go. If you enjoy it tho, let me know and maybe I’ll try to write more for it.
“Get down,” a woman yelled from behind you before you felt the brunt of a body pushing you behind a small vehicle. Your face pressed against the gravel as you felt the weight push your further towards the ground. Then you were up again and being pulled towards a darkened building.
The world was dizzying, your heartbeat racing against your breast. “Wait-” but you were stopped short as you were pulled through the broken window and pressed against the wall. The warmth of the other woman’s skin sent a chill down your back. She was the first human being you’ve seen in a week. For a moment, you wanted to pull her closer, but then the ringing bang of a gun echoed against the empty walls of the dark building. Fear built up in your throat as your eyes searched for any undead bodies rising again at the sound of life. You waited for the sound of their hungry moans as the scuffle of their slow feet tripped and slid against the ground. But it never came. There was nothing but silence.
The woman sighed, pulling away from you as she slipped her gun back into a makeshift holster. “This area’s clear now.” Then her eyes were on you. “Do you have any supplies on you or hidden anywhere?” Your head shook slowly. She stepped out into the light of the window, her eyes that seemed dark were now golden under the sun’s rays as they searched around in the street. “Do you have a team that you are with? There’s a community of survivors that have pulled together to keep each other safe. Although, you will have to be able to pull your own weight to be able to stay.”
“You’re the first human I’ve seen in a few days,” you told her, wanting to step closer towards her, but you kept your distance.
She seemed to be scanning your physique as her arms crossed against her stomach. Your own eyes trailed down her for a moment before meeting her’s at the sound of her throat clearing. “If you’ve survived this long on your own, then you are more than useful to us.”
Your heart thumped even harder against your ribs, making them ache for a moment. “I’ll do what I can,” you told her, following her back out the window. One of her hands pressed her thumb against her forehead, shading the sun from her view as she reached for a walkie talkie that you hadn’t even noticed was clip against her back pocket.
“Found a survivor,” she said into it. You could hear a response through it, but most of it sounded like static and watching the woman’s face, you could tell that she probably understood as much as you did from the noise. “Heading back to camp in the morning,” she only said into it again, ignoring the response that she was getting back from the other end. Returning it to her pocket, she turned towards you, “Let’s get going as far as we can before daylight it out. We don’t want to be out here when it’s dark.”
Walking through the over grown fields and past abandoned cars, you finally cleared your throat, “What’s your name?”
“Hermes,” she said, stepping over a fallen tree before turning around to offer you help. You took her hand, feeling the rush of touching her skin again before she finally pulled away once your feet were on the ground again. “What’s yours?”
“Y/N,” you answered back. The wind picked up, making you shiver. Your hands clasped around your biceps, rubbing them to try to keep some warmth against the day that was growing colder. “Do you think,” you wondered out loud, “that life will ever be normal again?”
She gave a laugh, there was a bitterness behind it, but the sound was as sweet as a lullaby. “I don’t think normal really existed, but we can try to find some solace with each other.”
You nodded at her words, looking out at the empty road ahead. “To be honest,” you told her, a smile shyly pulling across your lips, “if we were under normal circumstances, I would have asked you on a date by now.”
Her eyes glanced back towards you, a smirk itching at her cheeks, “same here.”
Despite flirting with her first, you could feel her cheeks warm up as your eyes watched the loose gravel that rolled with each step you took. “So, how is this civilization like?”
“It’s not much,” she said, scratching the back of her head, “But we make of it what we can.”

Hello! I’m so sorry for not getting to this sooner, as I answered on the last ask, some personal stuff came up, but I hope you are still able to enjoy this!
The keys clinked against each other as you turned the ignition of your car off. Your cheeks started to warm up with the tears that pooled down them, catching under your chin before dripping onto your shirt. A sob gathered up in your throat and as you were trying to hold it back, your hands came up to wipe away the tears. “I can’t be doing this right now,” you told yourself in a strained voice as more tears welled up against your eyelashes, making the world blurry around you. You needed to get out of your head, but the thoughts crawled back up and you can feel the heat of embarrassment as your too loud of a laugh and awkward jokes slipped through the cracks of reassuring words that echoed falsely within your mind. The faces of co-workers, classmates, friends and even family flashed through your head, each one uncomfortable and fake.
Then a loud knock rang against the window, the faces disappearing into the night sky the reflected the darkness you felt. Jumping our of your self-hatred, your eyes found Yukako standing just outside your car. Her face was pressed up against the glass, fog lightly appearing before dissipating against her breath. Trying to pull yourself back together, the strings too loose and tangled, your finger pressed against the unlock button. The car door opened and Yukako slipped into the seat next to you, not saying anything for a little while. Her presence was almost comforting as you stared on at her while her eyes remained on her own thighs.
Yukako let out a sigh as her fingers now played with the edge of her skirt. “I heard what happened.”
You looked on at her with wide eyes.
“You try to hide it, but your face is like an open book,” she continued, her hand reaching over and grasping yours. “It’s my favorite story to read, I could look at you for hours at a time and enjoy every second of it.” She paused for a moment, her grip growing a little tighter around your hand. “That’s why I can't bring myself to look at you right now, to see your sad eyes because I know it would break my heart. I’m too invested in this story to be able to read the sad scenes.”
Your heart hurt as it began to beat faster with each and every word she said. Your lips fumbled against each other before the words, “I’m sorry,” slipped out.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about,” she said, her voice soft and luring. “Please, just be happy.”
Wiping away at your face for a moment, a smile pressed up against your lips at her words. Nodding, you turned towards her and pressed a light kiss upon her cheek. “With you, I’m always happy.”
Her face was tinted with pink as she glance towards your entangled hands. “Never leave my side then,” she said with a playful, but serious tone.
Your laughter filled the car for a moment as a rush of emotions escaped you. As you settled back down, you pressed the back of Yukako’s hand against your lips and mumbled, “I’ll try my best.”
Her eyes were now on you, her cheeks now redder as a shy smile slipped across her lips. Slowly, she pressed herself closer towards you, her arm reaching to pull you towards her as well. As she kissed you, a surge of blissful feelings wrapped warmly around your body. Your fingers tangled within your hair as your other hand reached up and pressed against her hot cheek. Pulling away, the night sky was reflected within her eyes, but the stars seemed brighter now.
Kissing her once more, you whispered, “thank you,” against her lips, your arms tightening around her for a few seconds before slowly puling away. “Thank you,” you whispered to her once more.
