Brush was cut down with a ‘whack’ as a pair of high top covered feet stepped through the overgrown brush and bushes. Emily had traveled this way so many times before but with less and less brush to get past, but with the years that had passed everything grew more and more. The woman soon arrived at the entrance of the temple, pulling her sunglasses up on her head and looked around. The place a little rundown since the last time she’d been here with her mother. Strands of now dyed black hair pulled up in a ponytail were falling loose from her long walk up here and into Emily’s face. The mage sat her backpack by the door and dusted off her shoes to avoid getting any dirt or muck on the floors. It’d be a sin to disrespect a place such as this. Emily knelt down by her bag and dug around a little before pulling out a little urn snd sitting it down on one of the alters. There was a calmness about the temple and Emily felt he’d be at peace here more than somewhere in Piltover or Zaun. She stood and looked around the room spotting this ‘statue’ the locals warned her of and walked over kneeling “Hey, Lee” she said and grinned
Few people noticed he was there, and even fewer people addressed him so casually. The Monk’s head tilted slightly, trying to judge for intent from two words and steps alone. Shuffling. Rummaging. Looking for something? Curious.
“You may need to give me more than just, ‘Hey Lee.’” He replied, a smile to his voice as he rose from meditation among the statues, “I hear quite well, but I don’t like to make assumptions.” Despite the remark he had a fair idea who she was, names attached to auras more than the sound of a voice. Many had come like her, before and since. People who paid for martial demonstrations with time spent listening to the Dragon’s teachings. Impassioned sermons and stances. Now more than ever, such things had become his most important work. Anyone with a history of listening was worth his time.
“Not to interrupt any rites,” He went on in time as he ambled over, listening for any shifts in her knelt posture, “but I would like to know what your purpose is here? This is a sacred place, and I trust you not to disturb it. I need to ask everyone the same.” A simple shrug, as if to say such as it is, “I hope your travels have been swift and fulfilling, and that the Dragon keeps you well.”
