Getting active again | Veronica | Chapter 3 | ATTN: Mitsuru
The next day around early afternoon, Veronica entered the work out area. Unlike her usual appearance, she adapted a more sporty one - if one had been present in the baseball event, they would have certainly recognized the look. The only difference between back then and now was her hair - only part of her hair was tied into a loose ponytail, while the rest remained free from any bindings.
This was her first time actually using the work out area - beforehand, it had been simply too cold to bother with. However, this wasn’t the case anymore, so she could start keeping herself fit properly. It was vital in a mutual killing game - after all, you never know when someone might assault you. Better to be prepared than to slack of; not like there was much to do anyway.
The mythologist laid out a yoga mat, before starting to do some stretching. When she would be done with it, the bicycle would finally get its turn - it had been too long since she actually rode one.
Just as she was standing up again, Veronica saw someone out of the corner of her eyes. Her gaze turned to said direction, focusing on one of her classmates now. Mitsuru Okino, SHSL Competitive Eater. Outside of trials, they didn’t really talked much to each other yet.
It’s not like as if she was burning to change that fact, but it would be rude to simply ignore them. Thus, a quick acknowledgement would be appropriate.
While stretching her right arm to the left and pushing it to her shoulder with the help of the other arm, the mythologist nodded at the other.
“Good day, Okino-san. How are you?”
Tfw no sprites for sporty Veronica… Oh well.
Even though Okino is able to get a decent workout in their room using nothing but their body, having a dedicated space to work up a sweat is much more ideal. They were pretty excited to get to use the facility after all that time they had to deal with freezing their butt off. Conserving heat and trying to survive such cold conditions did not go well with keeping in shape! Now that that threat is no longer on the table, the threat of Monobear and whatever the hell he is planning next is a huge concern, so keeping in shape is a pretty big priority! Okino would never raise a hand against another individual, but being able to defend against an attacker is crucial here! They already had the techniques sufficiently down, so all that’s left now is to make sure their body is in peak physical condition!
Since it had been a while since Okino had properly worked out, they decide to take it slow today. After going for a quick jog outside in the Adventure Park, they head into the Work Out room and grab a yoga mat. They spot Shimizu while looking for a place to lay it out. When they make eye contact, Okino grins and raises a hand in a small wave.
“Hey, Shimizu! Mind if I stretch with you?”
Okino doesn’t wait for a response, and sets up their mat a next to the Mythologist’s. They dump their backpack and jacket a few feet away before stepping onto their mat and doing some basic arm stretches.
“I didn’t made time to come to the Adventure Park yet, until today. It’s pretty cool that there’s facilities like this here. I’m excited to try that zipline later!”
They’re drawing out their basic stretch routine - taking a good minute or so to move from one stretch to the next, going through every possible variant, getting to each and every one of their muscles. They were clearly planning on working out there for quite some time.
Flip the Switch | Okino | Chapter 2 | Re: Execution
It was so, so hard to watch Tojo’s execution. After the horror that Naomi had to go through, Okino shouldn’t have been so surprised or shocked. But Tojo… even if Okino does not condone violence under any circumstances, and believes that anyone who harms others should face a punishment… no one deserved a fate like this. Seeing Tojo struggle through her trial, only to go out in flames, by the very thing that she fought so hard to survive during the most devastating, traumatic time of her life… This was sick. This was wrong. This could not keep going on the way it is.
Even though Okino felt betrayed by Tojo’s actions and decision to resort to murder… they know that she never would have done this were they not in this impossible situation Monobear has trapped them in. Tojo didn’t seem like the type to utilize violence unless absolutely necessary. Neither did Naomi. Could Okino really hold any of this against them? Not really. It wasn’t their fault that their lives were being threatened if they did not kill. Maybe they would have eventually all frozen to death if Tojo never acted… But now, it’s only a matter of time before Monobear decided to drive someone else to kill again. And that was unacceptable.
Okino finally reached clarity. They uprighted themself, no longer feeling dizzy and weak, and instead imbued with a sense of determination.
“We… we can’t keep fighting among ourselves. That’s what Monobear wants us to do. We need to focus on working together. Monobear’s just going to create some incentive to kill again, and creating this animosity between us will only make it easier to drive someone to do it. We have to break the cycle. We can’t… let another tragedy like this happen again. Living like this… when the only way to escape is to successfully kill 3 people without getting caught… there has to be another option. We have to work together to figure out how to escape.”
Okino felt like they were all talk and no action. Many people have already worked hard on trying to find a way out. Okino has done next to nothing. What right did they have to push others to action, especially considering not much time had passed since Tojo demise? But it had to be said. It had to be emphasized, over and over, until they managed to escape.
“We can mourn and we can fight once we get out of here. It will… It’ll all be wasted time if we all end up dead by the end of this. I know that if we put aside our differences, strengthen our resolve, and put our heads together… there’s nothing we can’t do. We’re some of the most talented students in the world. This doesn’t have to be the end for us.”
Okino couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed by the flowery words coming out of their mouth. They were sure they would get a few sarcastic responses from the more derisive members of the group. But if their words could motivate at least one or two people, then speaking up would be worth it.
Okino is scared. Terrified that this day, this hour, even this minute could be their last minute alive. But they had to focus on that small glimmer of hope, for the sake of themself, everybody here, and those who had to pay the ultimate price.
You let yourself hang out with and trust a Murderer. You tried to solve the previous murder with a Murderer!
Okino felt sick.
“Why would you kill Shimoda? What… would ever drive you to do that???”
This. Was so wrong. Okino hardly had anyone here. And now the one person they thought they could even slightly trust had completely broken that. And now she was going to die. Okino felt light-headed, and leans heavily against their stand to keep upright.
They couldn’t understand why this was affecting themself so much. They didn’t know Tojo. They didn’t know anyone. And yet the room didn’t stop spinning. They weren’t sure if it ever would.
Hopelessness | Okino | Chapter 2 | Trial | Attn: Everyone
Okino never expected to get wrapped up in this trial, but it’s not like they’ve really given any reason to not be suspected, either. Their investigation came up short. They didn’t really know anyone, so it wasn’t like they could have collaborated with anyone to learn much more. They felt incredibly useless. They could easily comply with any checks anyone decided to do, as they had nothing to hide, but that could only go so far.
Maybe the isolation, the lack of friends, the death surrounding them… they didn’t feel like themself. It was in their nature to step up to the plate and lead this sort of thing, but instead they stood quietly the entire time with nothing to add. What was this place turning them into?
Tojo… was probably the person that they were closest too, even though that honestly wasn’t very much closeness in the first place. Still, a part of them didn’t want to believe that it could be her. But Okino didn’t really know her. Even the sweetest of people could be hiding violent tendencies within themselves. And if Tojo was really capable of a murder like this… it would be best to find out sooner than later.
“Heh, sorry that I haven’t contributed at all today. My investigation came up pretty short, so I haven’t had much to add to what everyone else has found.”
When Pines comes to Okino for a handwriting sample, they write a few words and show it to the rest of the group before letting the tree move on.
“So, my handwriting is kinda similar to that note, but it really doesn’t strike me as exactly the same. Or even that they were trying to mimic my handwriting, either.”
They couldn’t imagine Tojo trying to frame them by copying their handwriting, at least. Or anyone else?
“My handwriting was pretty public back during that baseball thing, but I’d be surprised if anyone would actually take the time to copy it, but not try to do anything else to frame me. So it’s probably a coincidence? My feet are way too big to be involved. I don’t really walk like those footprints either.”
That was all they could really add to the trial. And it got them no closer to solving the case. All they can do now is wait and hope that someone can come up with a definitive culprit, or someone finally confesses.
Boiling Point | Okino | Chapter 1 | Trial | Re: Sawako, Ebullience Attn: Everyone
Everyone ignored them. Everyone took their focus off of solving this case and set it on deciding who they should and shouldn’t vote for. They continued to ignore working together piece together the situation. Time was passing and they weren’t getting closer to finding the culprit.
Okino was floored by how much they completely agreed with Sawako. The biggest voice of reason right now… was the person Okino was basically most worried about out of their group, in general. What. The Hell.
“Can we! Just! Take! A break from deciding if we’re going to vote for Nakashima or not? Can we focus on the evidence? Can we focus on solving the case? If we can figure out who the murderer is, it doesn’t matter if we need to vote for Nakashima because we would have a real, concrete, reasonable option! We need to focus! Please.”
Okino’s happy to let Ebullience look at their hands and arms when they come around, taking off their jacket and backpack momentarily so she could have a closer look. They exchange a few words and they put their stuff back on. At least one person is working hard in this trial. It feels as if so many people have just resolved to give up.
A Side of Frustration | Okino | Chapter 1 | Trial | Attn: Touya Voters, Veronica, Tadashi, Ailani, Kanon, Cody, Ryan, Piney, Andrew, Everyone
Okino sighs in frustration. Even though everyone was starting to narrow down the suspect list, they hadn’t really been getting any closer to solving the murder. They could narrow it down all they wanted, but unless they put all the pieces together, as long as there were 2 potential suspects, they were never going to come to a conclusion. And furthermore, everyone was just voting for Nakashima now? There’s a murderer on the loose and now people don’t even want to stop them? That was absolutely unacceptable to Okino. They finally speak up.
“Wait. We can’t just start voting for Nakashima! There is someone in this room who is ready and willing to kill in a pretty frightening and sneaky way. We absolutely need to get down to this, or we all could end up being in danger, with no way of knowing who to be worried about. We need to focus, and figure out the causes of everything else that we know absolutely nothing about. We’ve already been thinking about the towels, the jacket, the windows, the laundry room, and a bunch of other things that have only lead us in circles. But I’m still wondering about the crumbs that lead from the body to the Monobear Stand, as well as the googly eyes near the stand. We know the googly eyes are from the Home Ec room, but why were they there? Why were the crumbs there? Unless we can get someone to confess to these things, then it’s safe to say that these were all done by the same person - the killer. And since no one has claimed that they did them, we need to put our heads together and figure out why they were all done!”
Oh, right. They probably needed to speak up about that too.
“By the way… the cookbook left in the Gazebo was mine. I think I dropped it on accident? No one was nearby when I was there… so I don’t have anyone to prove that! However, I was carrying it with me from the library, the kitchen, the dining hall, the zen garden, to the gazebo. I’m sure someone saw me with it. I ran into a few people last night! Shimizu, Matsuo, Fan, Kurosawa, Swanson, Roe… Anyway! That was mine, so if we don’t think this is on me, we’re able to safely cross it off of this investigation.”
That left them with just a few more comments.
“Pines, the ginger pork wasn’t mine, it was the other bowl by my note. The ginger pork was already there before I even finished cooking my own food. Oh, and by the way Nyotei, I prefer to be called by my last name. It’s nothing personal!”
Ginger Pork | Okino | Chapter 1 | Trial | Re: Veronica
Okino raises their eyebrows when Veronica addresses them.
“Oh, yeah, that! I usually end up making way more food than even I can handle, so I leave it out the leftovers in case anyone is interested in having some. I’m a pretty good cook, if I say so myself, and I don’t want to waste any food! Anyway, all I wrote on it was ‘free to eat’, so it was clear that anyone could have some!”
In the context of a murder, especially a murder where poison may have been involved, even if it didn’t directly kill anyone… their actions probably seemed a bit sketchy. Especially considering what else they found in the dining hall. They figured now was a good a time as ever to bring that up.
“Actually… I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but there was also another bowl left in the dining hall, although it must have been put there after I left! It had what looked like ginger pork, which looked delicious from far away! But up close… something seemed kinda wrong about it. I didn’t taste it or anything, but before I felt like the ‘potions’ that were left in the kitchen might have been involved. Now that Ebullience has claimed those as hers, I’m not so sure, but I’m still kind of suspicious! Does anyone know anything about that?”
Sakura Cheese | Okino | Chapter 1 | Trial | Attn: Everyone?
Okino goes with Tojo to the temple, annoyed that they weren’t able to search for more clues. The fruits of their efforts were looking a bit bruised. Still, the fact that they had investigated at all would hopefully have prepared them to solve this whole thing. If they were working with others, they were sure they could all come together and find the culprit.
Okino wasn’t sure what they were getting into with this trial, but they were determined to figure out who had caused all of this, and bring them to justice. They already had Monobear to worry about. The last thing they wanted was any other murderous beings crawling around Praetis. Sentencing the killer to death, however… it seemed like a bit much. But if someone was going to die… it made sense for it to be the killer, right? It was still an awful thing to think about, so Okino tried to put it to the back of their mind. Making Praetis a safer place to be was the utmost priority here, and the means to carry that out was all in Monobear’s hands, not theirs.
Once Okino located their place to stand, they look to either side of themself - Fan and… Phoenix? They had occasionally seen Fan around, but Phoenix was pretty much an enigma to them. Still, they give them both a nod.
“Hey! I guess I should introduce myself too, just in case anyone doesn’t already know. I’m Okino, Competitive Eater. I hope we’re able to figure this all out… Anyway, I can support everything Tojo said. I also spent all 3 of my Monocoins, and got complete crap. If you really need to know… they were some Paper Charms, a Flower Crown, and a Hair Clip.”
Okino takes a passive position in the trial early on, just listening to the evidence that others brought forward. It didn’t really feel like Okino had much to bring to the table. Damn. Could they be any more useless right now? It didn’t help that they had done all of their investigations with Tojo since she got a chance to speak first, that left little for Okino to add. That was the price of working with someone else, they figure. At least they had the photos to back up Tojo’s claims. Still, Okino decided to just silently take in as much information as they could, and would speak up only if they really had some new information to offer.
It was kind of uncomfortable to know that Ebullience had been working with a fairly large group of people, and had been excluding everyone else. There was an in-group, and they knew nothing about it. It made Okino feel unsafe. And why the hell did Ebullience have all of those vials? And why was she drinking one? What the hell was going on? All of the potions were Ebullience’s doing? Okino hated being left in the dark like this.
Other than that… there was nothing really stated that Okino either didn’t know about, or was just so flimsy of a statement that it wasn’t worth commenting on, so they remained silent. It was important to think and process as much as they could this early on, anyway.
Fugu | Okino | Chapter 1 | Re: Body Discovery
He was really dead.
It wasn’t that Okino didn’t believe Monobear’s word - they had no reason not to believe that the stuffed monster would at least tell the truth about a murder - but seeing Nakashima’s body for themself just made everything more. Real. Or something.
It would be easier to believe that Monobear was the one who had done this. That none of the other students here had actually killed Nakashima, but that would be incredibly unproductive. Sure, they had to consider every possibility, so the bear wasn’t completely off the table - it didn’t seem impossible that he would construct this horrid murder mystery just to make everyone upset and afraid - but Okino needed to be honest with themself. It was just as likely that any of the other students had done it.
They were surprised by how calm they found themself to be. Well, maybe not calm… they were still very much afraid. Focused was probably a better word. Maybe their instincts had kicked in. Maybe they would grieve later on. They didn’t ever really know Nakashima, but he was still a part of this fucked up situation. Okino wanted to figure out what happened, and bring the killer to justice.
…Kind of.
There was one thing that made Okino hesitant to investigate and fish out the killer. This was all orchestrated by Monobear. Everyone would have been safe and sound as long as he didn’t show up.
No violence. No death. No murder. The killer could have been driven to this out of fear. Even though Okino absolutely detests violence or any kind… in this sort of high tense situation, even they can kind of see why punishment wouldn’t necessarily be deserving… But this could also have been done by someone with cruel intentions, too. There were a couple of shady people here, and Okino hardly knew enough people to discount the more innocent looking ones, either.
They think and think and think, completely losing themself in thought. It takes far to long to shake their head and snap out of it. Focus! Whatever the situation is here, you need as much knowledge as you can get your hands on. With that thought, they begin snapping pictures of the body and the crime scene. They needed to start investigating. It might be the only way to preserve their life - and the lives of their innocent classmates - right now.
While I'm not finished with Okino's room yet, send me an ask if you want to search it! Their room is currently LOCKED.

shslbigeater:
Okino was incredibly restless. Once they got over their initial shock, they managed to get to their dorm to take a breather, but that was hardly helpful. They didn’t feel safe here, not anymore. They let themself get too comfortable. There was no comfort left to be had in this room, this castle, or this town. But there was nowhere left to go.
Okino didn’t know why they decided to go to the apothecary. It was rare for them ever to get sick, after all. They hadn’t even bothered to check that place out yet. It would be good to go see what options they and their fellow students would have if anyone got seriously injured, actually. Especially since the chance of that happening just became very, very real.
Okino approaches the apothecary, only taking a few steps inside to generally survey the building. They weren’t sure how comfortable they were just waltzing into places. Who knew where murderbear would be, after all. Thankfully, they only see one person inside. They’re on the shorter side, but definitely a human… Okino takes a few steps forward, preparing to make their presence known.
…Aaaaaand they should have announced themself sooner, because now glass is shattered all over the floor.
“Oh shit!”
It’s Okino’s turn to startle when the person suddenly turns around. Who was this… the Survivalist?
“Yeah, jeez… don’t worry about me, I’m not moving my feet. You’re… Tojo, right? Are you okay?”
Just as said, Okino keeps their feet planted firmly to the ground. Instead, they just turn their head and body as they try to look for some sort of a broom. This mess really needed to get cleaned up. They manage to spot one tucked away in the corner, and proceed to very carefully navigate around the glass to get to it. Sure, Okino was wearing shoes, so stepping on it wouldn’t have been a big deal… but who knows what had been in that container! Once they grab the broom, they make their way back and try to aid in cleaning up the mess.
“So… do you really think that accidentally dropping something like this really counts as breaking property?”
In some part of their mind, Okino knows that they shouldn’t be engaging and aiding someone who might have just broken one of the rules. That was a surefire way to get Monobears attention, which was the last thing Okino was interested in doing. But they couldn’t just not help. How could they, really?
Madoka, in all her endless preparedness, doesn’t quite seem to know what to do with herself. The logical thought would be to find a broom, but she’s much more preoccupied with worry about whether or not she’s just broken a rule. Surely something as silly as a bottle wouldn’t matter, but… maybe it would? And in that case, was she breathing her last breaths right now? The thought of the dead body was still fresh in her mind, after all–
“A-Ah! Tojo, yes, that’s me! Madoka Tojo! I’m fine, you just– uh, well, I’m a bit on-edge, not having expected a… a death, you know? So you startled me– no fault of yours, of course! Entirely mine! Um, but– oh, a broom, that’s smart.”
Indeed, a broom was smart, and much more logical than rambling herself to death as she seemed intent on doing. Feeling a bit silly now, she crouches down and begins veeeeeery carefully picking up the larger shards of glass.
“Umm… well, I’m not sure, actually! I mean, I would certainly hope not, but– I don’t want to take any risks! So… if we hide the evidence, then there’s no chance that even if it was against the rules… that anything even happened! Ooh, that’s so unlawful… and sneaky… but it’s the best option, isn’t it?”
Hands full of large broken shards, she stands up once more, throwing them very very carefully in the trashcan.
“Umumu… thank you for your help, um- hrmmm…”
Madoka’s face scrunches up as she thinks, pressing the pointer finger of her right hand against her forehead in a rather overdramatic gesture.
“Aww, darnit! I really did look at the roster, but I just can’t remember! How super rude! Thanks for your help anyway, though! I didn’t mean to get you involved in my………. crime.”
She whispers “crime”, for effect.
Okino couldn’t help but grin to themself as they listened to the girl. Tojo Madoka, the girl who survived a horrible plane crash, and traveled the world only to go out into the wilderness and survive, was now totally afraid over a broken bottle. Wow, actually… that sounded extremely rude, given the current circumstances. In fact, these were probably the only circumstances to get a girl like this so worried for her life. At least, maybe? Okino wouldn’t know since they’d never really talked before.
“Hey, don’t even worry about it. Memorizing names is the worst! If we didn’t have so much free time to just memorize shit in the roster, I wouldn’t have know yours either! I’m Okino. It’s great to meet you! And… we’ll figure out to cover this up. And besides, you shouldn’t even think of this as a crime! Just because Peri - and now Monobear, I guess - is calling the shots and gave us a bunch of rules, doesn’t mean that breaking them is against the law. Maybe when Peri was in charge it wasn’t a big deal to follow them, but this is seriously messed up now. We shouldn’t stand for any of this anymore!”
Okino blushes and cuts themself off when they realize that they had been rambling and ranting. Most of the glass is now swept up into a neat pile, but they continue to sweep to make sure they got all the tiny bits.
“Haha, wow, sorry! I don’t know where that came from. We probably shouldn’t focus on that… it’s not healthy to think about that all the time! Anyway, we should figure out where to hide this glass… do you think there’s any place in Praetis to dispose of stuff? I’d hate to just leave this glass where someone could find it, even if it couldn’t be traced back to us, y’know?”
They struggled to take their own advice, but it was just so easy to slip into thoughts about Monobear, and this whole situation…
It was better to think that the broken bottle wouldn’t result in any consequences.

shsl-doubtparelthon:
Madoka had disappeared into her room for a bit following the announcement– who knew what she was doing, to be honest. Probably something useless, like researching edible plants or crying. That was a joke, of course, as she was prepared for anything (yes, even murder!) and was simply gathering her wits about her before emerging back into the new, dangerous world. It didn’t matter that it wasn't her being threatened, it was still dangerous and she needed to be ready for anything!
So, she finds herself back at the apothecary, peering at the various bottles around. If this was all they had in the way of medicine, she was a bit concerned… but it was good to take inventory, in any case! That way she could be sure they’d have enough supplies for everything.
The supplies weirded her out, though. For example, how were they to be sure they wouldn’t run out of food? It’s not like it was magically restocked or something like that.
Madoka didn’t want to think on that for too long, though. It would make her uneasy, and in a situation like this, you needed to stay cool, calm and collected! Three things she was great at–
The sound of someone approaching behind her makes her jump suddenly, dropping the container she’s holding on the ground. Its crash as it makes impact is coupled with her high-pitched gasp, her hand flying to her cheek.
Of course she had memorized the rules immediately, so–
“O-Oh no!! Oh, gosh– we aren’t allowed to break property… oh nooooo… oh… ah…”
Seemingly unsure what to do– call Peri and beg for forgiveness or leave the mess and run– Madoka turns, only to come face-to-face with the person whose arrival had startled her. Despite her slight panic over the rule-breaking, she quickly comes to a very serious realization when she sees them.
“B-Be careful! There’s broken stuff on the floor, you’ll hurt your feet!”

Natto | Okino | Chapter 1 | Open
Who knew that the truly awful voice and truly awful words that took over Peri’s phone call would not even come close to adequately foreshadowing the events to come just mere minutes later. Who knew that the strangely pleasant town that Okino was slowly becoming accustomed to would soon become their own personal hell.
Okino arrived at the scene and immediately began coming up with more questions than answers. What… who? was this bear? That was talking? Why was the normally bright and cheery Peri cowering in a corner? They tried to quell their thoughts, however, as the scene before them began to unfold. Poor Nakishima. I’m not sorry I’m not in your shoes. That bear rubbed Okino in the wrongest of ways, just by his demeanor and speech. The bear unsheathing its claws seemed like it would be the final straw. Was he actually going to threaten bodily harm to a student?
Their eyes dart to Nomiya when he first speaks. Wow, this guy has balls. This toy was clearly armed and ready to attack, and he decides to speak up??? You may be saying what everyone else is thinking here, but I’m not sure if that will
help.
Okino lets out a shriek and collapses to the ground. They shut their eyes and grab fistfuls of hair into each clenching hand.
This. Can’t. Be. Happening.
Everyone around them seemed to be just as shocked by the events that just unfolded. It takes far too long for Okino to compose themself long enough to open their eyes again. Nomiya lies unmoving on the ground, in a puddle of his own blood.
Monobear. That was the name of the monster here to terrorize them all. Nothing of the past week mattered. That reality was nothing more than an attempt to lull them all into a false sense of security. A dead student laid in front of them, and this… this thing… continued to taunt them, and asked them to kill even more students. To kill Nakishima. Okino didn’t know of him much more than what was on their keycard and from passing glances, but no one deserved this. Not him, not anyone, and especially not Tomiya. And Okino had no idea what to do. They continued to sit motionless on the floor, their mind buzzing and buzzing but ultimately coming up with nothing.

Tempura | Okino | Prologue 2.0 | Closed
Okino has already been up for a little under an hour before Peri calls them all to the lobby. Thankfully they earned a good night’s rest, but their body was not interested in sleeping longer than it needed to in this strange new place. They weren’t interested in leaving their room quite yet; instead they spent their time working through one of their unfinished puzzle books. They never kept that many but they worked through them quite quickly, so it wouldn’t be long before they needed to purchase more, which was very likely not possible anymore. That should have caused them to be a little more prudent with them, but their nerves from the sudden change in location and lifestyle were easily funneled into the books. It’ll suck when they don’t have access to them anymore, but once Okino’s more acclimated to the situation, they think they should easily make do. Maybe they could entertain themself at the library, or work on their green thumb at the greenhouse.
Okino sets the book on top of the small cabinet in their room and heads down to the lobby to see what Peri wants. When they take the monocoins, they decided to go spend them right away. Who knows what could be in this thing! There was no way that they were going to wait and see from someone else! First hand experience was a must here! They opted to take the gondola ride down to the town to get to the monobear stand.
“Alright, let’s see what’s in store for me…”
They place their first coin into the slot. When the machine releases their capsule they quickly pick it up, only examining the exterior for a few moments before opening it up.
318: Paper Charms Several strips of paper, with mystical wards written upon them to fend off evil spirits. Do those things actually work? (Wakana Fujiwara, DA3O MM)
…Interesting. Okino’s never been a very spiritual person, so the only disappointment Okino felt was from not getting something that interested them. Although, they think, if they hold onto it long enough they might meet someone who would find it to be a suitable gift. Still, this prize felt like a huge dud. There was no way they were going to withhold their monocoins if there was a possibility of them getting something actually cool. They pocket the charms and place their second coin in the machine.
86: Flower Crown Delicate, cute, and hand-made! It looks like it was made from several flowers, probably in memory of a friend. (Nozomi Shibusa Omoiyari, DA1)
Flower crowns were pretty cute, and this one was no exception, but this just really wasn’t their style. They guess this will probably have to be another gift. Well… third time’s a charm, right? They shove their final coin inside.
175: Cute Green Hair Clip A petite looking ribbon on a barette, perfect for us in shorter hair! This will definitely up your cute factor! (Kahori Abe, DA3E)
“…”
This totally sucks. Okino doesn’t care about this at all. It completely doesn’t go with their outfit, anyway.
Well, whatever! Better to pretend they never got the coins and never had the chance to get something potentially cool. Hell, maybe the entire machine is filled with stuff that they wouldn’t like, and the stuff that they got was actually pretty decent! Yeah. In hopes of getting out of this funk and feeling less disappointed, they quickly take the gondola back to the castle and dump their loot into the cabinet. Now, it’s time to go out and continue to explore Praetis! They can find people to gift that stuff to later.
